Best Family Ties Poems
Family ties welcoming with warm bliss
midst kiss and hugs of every brod and sis
contagious laughter of exuberance...
exude our ancestral house we can’t miss.
Thus, in passing by an ancient abode
its garden full of ferns, and weeds-bestowed
decrepit roof whispers “I need repair”
we just sighed at the load along the road.
Evoking forlorn beyond grandeur-state
ramshackled porch hides against rusty gate
while antique door bearing rosette design
shows golden staircase railings of great weight.
Touched by the sight of the pitiful site
we know in our hearts, we should do what’s right
as now, we behold through our van’s window
home we pray* as our faith's dome of delight.
*2Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power.

There is a scarlet cord which hath been
woven with the strength of love
Entwined between thine heart and mine
A three fold cord that can not be broken
though time and distance doth separate.
Tis a precious bond between you and I
that only the Father could create
An irrevocable bond that shall ever bind
thy life to mine.
For this scarlet cord woven by a Gods design
was to be a family
This cord shall bind us together for
all time with a love that cannot be defined.
Fate makes a date with strange decrees;
Appoints and hurls each man a path;
Moves each estate just as surely;
Indwells and swirls all living stuff;
Lines each to each as kin and kind;
Yet moulds our tribe with common needs;
Tricks us to reach for peace of mind;
Implants a pride that each might seed;
Exults the pulse of plain good choice.
Sells each a style with curious feel;
Hides wild impulse in feisty poise;
Endows odd wiles that seek to heal;
Assigns appeal in paradox:
Listens as will lives in-the-box.

Family Ties
By Franklin Price
5/10/2015
Family ties are always there
Throughout our lives for whom we care
Expanding as our journeys change
These family ties will rearrange
As a baby mom and dad
Initially were all we had
Maybe siblings to make a fuss
To feed and change our pants for us
Soon came friends not in the house
With some good fortune loving spouse
New family to call our own
And family ties have further grown
Our chosen one new family
The old one still exists to see
A balance make between the two
Both are dear the old and new
If fortune smiles with loving face
And life goes with predicted pace
A child or more are added in
And family ties expand again
As time goes by and we grow old
To grandchildren our tales are told
Knots tightened then for future kin
Where we leave off they will begin
Tie knots square and make them strong
Make children feel that they belong
And when we've left this world behind
There will be family ties that bind
Family Ties – take 2

Family ties are always there
throughout our lives for whom we care.
Expanding as our journeys change,
family ties will rearrange
As a child our moms and dads
initially were all we had.
Older siblings made a fuss
and even changed our pants for us.
Soon came friends not in the house,
with some good fortune, a loving spouse,
new family to call our own
and family ties had further grown.
Chosen ones new family.
The old ones still there to see.
A balance made between the two,
both were dear the old and new.
If fortune smiled with loving face
and life went with predicted pace,
a child or more were added in
and family ties grew once again.
Grandchildren arrived as we grew old.
They're bored with us as tales are told.
Yet will tell the tales to future kin,
our tales passed on, theirs will begin
Tie knots square and make them strong,
Make children feel that they belong
And when we've left this world behind
There will be family ties that bind
What is the meaning of 'family ties'
Is the meaning lost in lies
We strive to hold it all together
Although we're not birds of a feather
With different lives and much to do
we need our families, me and you
We laughed and cried, had fun together
we thought it all would last forever
As the family grows by leaps and bounds
less togetherness can be found
May we never give it up
It's part of what fills our cup
Let's join in fun, let's laugh and play
and smile as we remember it another day
Life is short, as we all know
do not let your family go.
In this game of who gets who worst.
Its about getting even , regardless of if feelings get hurt.
So what if this has escalated , you've wronged me,
since that moment I had placed you in a hurst.
Ironic is that you were the brother who taught me the meaning of family.
Now you are the one whose existence is a bother.
More push than shoves , more disdain than love.
My personality determed by " I " but the attitude by all of the above.
Those qualities of yours that ensure that we will quarell.
Those lies that enticed my pride to be swallowed.
No longer will I take the blame for you.
My older brother. My older brother , both father and brother.
What a short distance you've fallen from the tree , hurting all those around you , your siblings and even our dear mother, just like the one who betrayed you , our dear father.
For the lust of materialistic dreams that you seeked youve trampled upon the ones who didnt even understand the concept of envy.
First you lie about your family name.
Then you gamble with our savings.
Then steal from me , was I not part of your family?
Humiliate your siblings infront of your friends for laughs.
Calling us the bastards that God should've never had.
Thank God our mother can't see what has become of you and I.
You almost murdered me because I wouldn't lend you anymore money.
Thank God our mother can't see what has become of you and I.
For you succesfully murdered her spirits too.
You only came to the funeral to lay claim to your part of the money.
Tomorrow our family ties will be physically severed.
But mother taught us all shall pass.
When tomorrow comes I hope this is true.
So in high spirits I know this is something else that shall pass,
something I must go through.
For with the last heirloom you did not take.... ,
our grandfather’s knife...
Your life I shall take from you.
Some wear conservative,
while some wear liberal,
some for Trump,
while some for Clinton,
some are Catholic or Protestant
while some are Jewish,
some are carefree,
while others are prudent,
some just getting hitched,
while some growing leery,
some newly born,
still others are old and weary,
some have good paying jobs,
while others are living paycheck
to paycheck and struggling,
some have excellent health,
while others are dealing with
different health issues under their
shirts and belts,
some can hold a conversation
with confidence and ease,
while others tend to drink
to feel more of a sweet release,
some meeting for
weddings and funerals
by flying out,
some still go by driving the
long arduous route,
when we have family reunions
we don't always see
eye to eye,
but still and all with love foremost
we'll always have family ties.

In the forest where the trees glow,
Shimmering stars shine, a stunning show.
Mesmerizing marvels in an idyllic, calm flow,
Cheerful gifts gathered gently in a row.
Blanketed children in wonder and cheer,
Gingerbread cookies, sweet flavors near.
Iced in crimson, green, festive atmosphere,
Sprinkles of joy as Santa draws near.
A sleigh with bells that jingle and run,
We gather as families, our hearts are full of fun.
Celebrating traditions, our spirits as one,
In the warmth of the holiday, we bask in the sun.
Shimmering ivory pearls in moonbeams,
Gentle lullabies that soothe all our dreams
Chalked memories drift in a crystalline stream,
In hopes that our love will forever gleam.
Though jaded vials may drip with despair,
We find elixirs of hope in the air.
Sick veins may quiver, dreams still ensnare,
As impending fate reminds us we care.
Scratch
but not sniff.
Such exile
undoubtedly
Tickles my fancy.
Until I gave
birth to insanity.
Without surrender
and freshness we
can only desert
familiarity.

Looking into her eyes I find myself thinking of her sister, imagining the pain they will both suffer when they grow older.
To think these girls will not find each other in life is ignorance, and to think they won’t resent those who made it impossible for them to be in each other’s lives is madness.
Fire begat flames
Soot coated remnants of family ties
Burned like a star
Silence encompasses the weary
I give you my strength child, though I do not know you.
I give you my sins, those that I do not owe you.
I feel your presence such as one feels tension in a hostile environment;
Such as one would feel a migraine
Such as one would feel pain from an amputated limb, a confusion of nerves
Such as one would feel love
Such as one would feel afraid
Such as one wouldn’t feel anything.
Families come in many styles
But one can never choose
The family you'll be born to
It's a game of win or lose
Families come in many sizes
From small to large they'll range
Some will be close at hand
While others become estrange
Families come in many forms
From poor to filthy rich
Some work hard for many years
While others end up in a ditch
Families come from different times
Some are worlds apart
Some can't leave the past behind
While others will restart
Families come and families go
Blood is thinned by water
A mothers love will never end
For that of her only daughter
Family ties should bind the wound
When parents get their well-earned rest
Ne’er leave a single child ungroomed
While other siblings’ take the best.
They were the most godly parents
Family ties should bind the wound
Neither mom nor pop were errants
Leaving their children to be doomed.
Death lately together entombed
Leaving the six children to share
Family ties should bind the wound
Four are greedy, other two care.
Greedy four hired lawyers to fight
Will leave the two others marooned
The family knows it’s not right
Family ties should bind the wound.

It’s another workday morning
Waiting in a barroom
Drinking coffee with anisette
Surrounded by tired hookers
And their empty knowing eyes
He’ll be down in another two cups
Blurry eyed and sullen as always
And we’ll head off to another home
improvement project.
This one is a second floor rosewood deck
Or heart of cedar
Or whatever
I’ve priced it out to cover
The wake up and wait
He’d do it for half as much
The girls after trying daily
Have given up on me
So it’s a lot more peaceful wait
It’s how my brother in law and I
Survive between union jobs
Hold my hand and dust me off.
Cry my tears and think my thoughts.
You see my faults yet trust my soul.
Teach as I grow as I was your own.
We’ve shared some times and fought years too.
Making a promise, to stick like glue.
Just being my brother, sister or mother.
Has made life dreamy wouldn’t trade it for another.
from behind
a sword is thrust through my chest
my pain is indescribable
it is so great
I feel I have to share it to feel relief
I don't really look back to see
whom the sword is from
I just know whoever pokes this wound
Will surely feel the full wrath
of my pain
Finally something does
I smile cynically
What a fool
I grab the sword
And drag it onto their chest
Wait! It's still there
The sword on my chest
It just extended
onto the next person
We're in a circle of hurt people
It's getting wider
The origin is mostly money
Try our best we should
But..It's so hard to get out
If I could I would
