Ursus Maritimus ...

I entered your world in quietude, slipping through the granular, soft.
Long slats to feet parting the frozen. Cold of a previously unknown
Extreme, nipping, sharp, the epidermis with ardor. A Mid-May akin to
February, homeward, first warning of extrinsic ire, ignored. Hours of
Similar (sobering) revelations ensued, supplanted by days, weeks,

Moons ... reality - icebound and born of abiding trial. The basic
Elements staggering, swallowed by the providence around me. A
Vastness beyond vast, afar ... crushing cold of limitless value, each
Sunrise a new contingency for measure of my insignificance. How I
Adored you for your beauty - such reward for the naked eye, there

Amidst a denuded struggle. Shaped by eons of selection into a
Creation of perfect form and ease, as at home with desolation as
I at a warm hearth and aliment. Moving sprite through your environs,
All senses attuned to the mind's axis ... at once knowing and known,
Master of a savage domain. Every dynamism a fluid dance, every

Steamed puff of exhalation a waif of delicacy, bespoken. Do not the
Gods aspire to such? If there were deities afforded such barren and
Bleak scapes, it would be none other than you - as exquisitely
Magnificent and divine as the forbidding but breathtaking element
Around you, my brother. Yet, I fear I have doomed you, for others

Will now follow ... others who find no such elegance in anything
But graft and greed. By the simple act of watching I may have
Sealed your fate, firm and grim. So, I will not turn to admire you
As I leave ... but rather keep you forever as a phantom in my mind
And heart and longings - to let you devour my spirit and join with

You, ever after straining to hear the echo of your lonely, distant
Growl, the one that so often haunts my thoughts and meanderings,
Dark and cold in the arctic night, dark and cold in the willows ...
Deep and frozen and dreaming, of your gleaming and breathless
Beauty. If but mine to touch ... to know. Forgive me and farewell ...

     Brother Bear.

You Fall ...

the ground of your reality dissolves in this
stream of distraction, this inconvenient passion
the mawkish pop music you mock
is now singing your story, as
your thoughts, your breath, your blood
all consumed by his eyes, his voice, his words
all the moments of his notice of you
painting your gray paper with extrinsic purple
and lavish green, filling your thirsty cup
with intoxicating attention, until time
is measured only by your meetings

     You Stall...

hitting the invisible, inimical wall
penalized and ostracized
for presuming the right to ask why
for waking from complicit worship
for retaking your will and your mind
for staining his golden idol
with faith of the atheist

     You Call...

for all his proud proclamations
he is a needy, greedy child
your adoration is his sun
your life force he feasts on
disenchantment is your release
from the prison of submission
his hollow heart, his churlish charm
all merely a false alarm-

"Dead leaves lay still until the wind takes them
here and there: even the last flower is withered:
yet there is a beauty in decay. "
                                            Quote by _Constance La France

No annoyance of fall! No rile! No rage! No wrath ever!
Resignation, rather, O leaf, has been your endeavor!
Dead? I will never dare to say! You are like life, zestful,
Just your physique and psyche have made you a bit restful;
Isn't death, like the now-old frail flesh and blood of yours, a truth?
Doesn't the sweet thought of the resuscitation, your mind sooth...?

Winds shake your stay, like the angels carry the upright souls,
Don't dread or fled or fright though turbulence shatters your goals;
A prisoner and the police? A slave and the master?
Nay, you are like a child who is saved in a disaster;
Will creatures that do not alter their selves ever revive?
Midst your extrinsic decay, dear leaf, you're fully alive...!

The sky wears cozy costumes; the colors of clouds alter;
The sun and shower evade the earth; galaxies falter;
Earthquakes arise; volcanoes erupt; little flowers fade,
Within you, O leaf, are many an optimistic shade;
Move on with all miraculous powers and forces fair!
Till you dwell in dignity of divine decorum rare...!!!

War and Peace

Some consecrate the carnage
Of war and infantry;
Or the argosy of navy’s
Crusading far at sea.
Battles have their triumph
When the gun is in the glove,
But the pageantry of war
Can't replace that crush called love.

For love holds more than power
It invades the soul within;
While the slaughter of mankind
Is extrinsic in its sin.
So, then my heart must follow
To the one who waits for me,
And the silence that's between us
Gives peace eternally.

Nature, Nurture and Self-Esteem

Blessed are those who naturally possess
a strong sense of self and solid self-esteem.
- This is nature at its best.
Vulnerable are those who solely succumb to
relying on extrinsic forces to consider their self-worth.
- This calls for nurturing in its most primal state.
If children grow up being enjoyed rather than tolerated,
They learn to accept themselves and others.
If children are liked as well as loved,
They feel like they fit in the world;
They have a sense of belonging.
If children are talked 'to' rather than 'at, '
They find their own voice.
If children are included in good humor and laughter,
They're inclined to believe that wishes come true.
If children are showed faith by actions and prayer,
They are quick to have hope.
If children live with peace and harmony,
They discover their own Truths with confidence.
~Such sustenance rears individuals with promise and positive perspective.
~It is the gift of healthy self-esteem;
~A positive self-concept.
If nurture naturally embraced you, have gratitude.
Be joyful in the acceptance of you and those around you.
Remain involved with self-discovery and improvement.
Raise your head high and breathe; for,
You are the fortunate.

Girl Child

Cried she concealingly in her heart,
felt lone and heavy,
disconcerted she was from her graceless life ,
Waited for the support of someone's hand,
and his courteous voice.

Shoddy reason it was which her family verbalised,
downhearted she felt in her mundane life,
she burked her feelings and tried to take a breath,
But found it effete tto restrain her mind and flesh,
and died with the charge of annihilating oneself.

No one knew that her parents cursed her,
None knew how gravely her thrashing went on ,
Nobody knew that she was treated extrinsic,
Not any soul knew ,
That she was tormented so hard.

Her body was thrown into a stream nearby,
Not a proper burial was given to that innocent child,
and twenty two she was with a beautiful smile,
but was only tortured,
B'coz she was born as a 'Girl Child'.

Without From Within

Look at the inside,
to see the outside,
Look at the intrinsic,
to understand the extrinsic,
See the indigenous
to envision the exogenous,
For what lies without is a measure of within.

Love the heart
to adore the beauty,
Love the brain
to admire the brawn,
See the mind
to open up the soul
For what is inside spills onto the outward.

A beauty within
bears love without
A love without
brightens beauty within
And as we create a lovely without,
Let’s start from a beautiful within.

Wanjeru kamau.

Refrain

The cycle they speak of
simmering regeneration
folded back upon itself
spinning graceful
behaving oddly like
repetitious Nature blindfolded
Yet transported to the present
in the past
treading mercy
Through the wheel like another
carriage return
mindful of Circadian limits
peering in a moment of
extrinsic reclassification
but all the while
sitting on the edge

And I talk to her heart of delight, and she shudders to think elsewhere
The purchase of her soul, enlightened over here
She has a glass face, so smooth like porcelain
Created by a master-smith, not an extrinsic villain
Open minded heart, that of delight my friend
Loving like no other, that which depends
Centered onto my own life force, she enters my life
Crafted with a perfected twinge, to complete me my wife
A single inkling of power, she shares it within me
She works within the hour, sublime it can be
Fascinating she brings, a lovely harpsichord
Beauty deep within, the chorus and the chord
Superimposed grandiosity, livened inside of me
She sleeps onto my shoulder, her being is what I see
Softly and gently she moves, covering my tenderness
She creates motion, and has loveliness
Come to me my sweetheart, live a little with me
You can surface each emotion, surely you can be
Directly honored by your immensity
I direct my heart towards divinity
Lovingly we control our destiny, over the tops of our delight
She showers us both with love, and the hope of life is in sight
And to this our love is shown
Like the greatest ever star known

Querulous Soul

What is the reason for thoughts coming to mind;
most if which foment the feeling of being left behind
on an island of bewilderment, longing for the extrinsic
things in life that leave the heart to beseech God in
such a humble manner as to:are these the facets that my
soul needs to thrive? Is it so true that all sustaining
here is purely conceived to die? Dear Lord what is
the true meaning of all this packing and tucking of
good deeds and loving into a vessel that is ill-equipped to fly.
One can only catechize oneself as to:will all of this be recognized?
And so we imbibe the doctrine of blind faith while roaming
the land blind to beliefs because of all that is advertized.
We expand the soul, stretching it for a love to embrace the aura
of that which is serene and warm, pure to the soul's
force within the moment it dilates to become as one
with all that once thrived;clinging to its mass within
the unaware waiting of God's final breath to drift an
aglutinated force into the abyss of eternity and perhaps
arriving to the halidom where universes and time coalesce to elapse.

Catch 22

A woman seeks all that leaves her distraught
In pursuit of extrinsic desires anew
From a dead end grave startled she wakes
Within her eyes fate appeared to be taut
Thoughts delivered warnings in queue
Though on occasion rare she’d have spaked
Along the village nimble she scurried
In the passenger seat of a surrey
Engaged in the act never was she caught
Many a men’s heart she had toiled
Indefinite tribulation it had brought
Often formulas had been foiled
‘Tis not what she had sought
Forsaken eminence to be spoiled

Loaded

I’ve befriended lovers:
I’ve befriended lovers daft as harlots cleaved
like the glass in extrinsic films.

My sagacity has matured like adult freesia.

I had been saturated within tasteful ages.
I built fences near the trestles of disbelief.
I sought to sip of the finer fountains.
Yonder echoes throughout Canada I had heard
Touring along the avenues of Abbotsford
Nature testifying betwixt an epicurean draught

I’ve befriended lovers:
Daft, apathetic lovers.

My sagacity has matured like adult freesia

Sour Screams

In the inmost part of my extrinsic insoluble mind
There is a berth that you have to leaf thoroughly through to find
A vicinity that's scarred by years of heartless crime
Like a flask with echoes of sour screams, overflowing with cries
Keeps me roused at eventide with a toothless grin
Wondering if I'll be tolerable for once in my continuance and when
Day spring comes and then my dusty attic generates a spin
Arise and get costumed, as it starts all over again
