Best Enumerating Poems
It had been a long night, an hour drive just to be with my sister. One must stay in touch with family; it’s the right thing to do. I don't even know what movie we saw. Here she was again in all her glory whining, and whimpering, about her conditions. Confined space is the wrong place to be with someone bi-polar. Sometimes, I think the family should mark her eruptions on a calendar, maybe there’s a pattern? She was hungry; her blood sugar was low; hurry, get her home!
“Geez Sis, if my life depended on carrying peanuts, I'd make damn sure I had them with me!” I my replied.
the sleet fell
through the headlight beams:
fog inside
“You bleeping self-centered witch!” Her reply.
And on and on, enumerating all my faults at the top of her lungs. Her face was darting back and forth across the stick shift like a viper. The weather was so bad, and her screaming so loud; I almost drove us up a telephone pole. The back road to her house was serpentine through a pinewood, and over narrow, slick, bridges. Well, about fifteen minutes into my dissection, I burst a gut.
“You need to have some control. Your diet is horrible. I wish you could see yourself eating. Your plate might as well be a trough.” There now I’ve gone and done it, I thought to myself. The little devil in me was all smiles. When we pulled into the driveway; she leapt out.
the car door
slams rattling the glass:
eyes wet as rain glass
It only felt good for a moment. It was true; she did deserve the comment. She’d felt free to butcher me, but, it was wrong to try to hurt her. The momentary release, which felt so good, has given us months of anguish.

All the days, I’ve not so patiently waited, waited for the one, the yang to my yin.
Brevity precluded me enumerating all the subtle joys of you, yet, your eyes,
Charismatic orbs of jovial laughter, crinkled from sunny days, and blue as sky.
Dangerous man you are, yet, the gentleness you show to me knows no bounds
and, I would wait another eternity, if only you could guarantee to end life with me.
" The Horse and The Storm Cloud ... "
(From The Solomon Studies Series) # 4
(Eccl. 3: 11 / Prov. 6: 6 / Matt. 6: 26, 28, 29)
The Horse and The Storm Cloud
Both Have Thundered Over The Plains
The Horse and The Storm Cloud
Both Race and Are Hard To Restrain
The Horse and The Storm Cloud
Both Rise Then Bolt Like Arrows Aimed
The Horse and The Storm Cloud
Both Desire To Reach Fruits and Grains
The Horse and The Storm Cloud
Both Upon Hilltops Have Reigned
The Horse and The Storm Cloud
Both Have Glistened With Heavy Rain
Tho' One Is Ridden and One Never Reined
Both Have Wild Beauty Forever Untamed
Tho' One Claps
and One Paws The Ground
One Neighs In The Wind
& One Wears Lightning's Crown
The Horse and The Storm Cloud
Both Characterize Nature's Fame
The Horse and The Storm Cloud
GOD Made Both Unique, But Flash The Same
The Horse and The Storm Cloud
Both, GOD Will Make Sure - Earth Retains

Growing up in West Texas (oh yeah, I love horses) ...
there was a riding ranch that opened up near my family's
home. So, I've ridden horses ever since I was in my early
teens.
I came to appreciate that the horse is a sensitive, noble
and beautiful creature. Hence, I felt I had to state my
affinity and admiration for this unique beast, (not just
with one poem but two)
The horse has been in such close association with man
and mankind's history ... So that is why I wrote the posts
enumerating the qualities of the magnificent creature
that is the horse ...
Now, I'm not the greatest equestrian (by any
means, but I've got a good seat for riding (lol)
And if you do, find yourself on a sunny day, with time
on your hands, take a leisurely ride on a horse and you'll
be hooked for life (I know I am) (All you Horse-Riders
out there, know what I'm talking about, I know)
Hope readers enjoy ...

" The Horse and The Lion ... "
(From The Solomon Studies Series)
(Eccl. 3: 11 / Prov. 6: 6 / Matt. 6: 26, 28, 29)
The Horse and The Lion
Both Have Beautiful Manes
The Horse and The Lion
Both Stand Up To Powerful Claims
The Horse and The Lion
Both Rule Where They Range
The Horse and The Lion
Both Have Battled On The Plains
Tho' One Neighs Shrilly and The Other Roars!
One Is A Mighty Hunter / The Other Rides To Wars!
Tho' One Has Teeth & Claws, Like Sharp Talons
Everyone Bewares The Hooves & Ground of Wild Stallions
The Horse and The Lion
Both Are Like Muscled, Courage Unchained
Yet The Horse, Eats Oats and Hay
and Sweet Apples and Grain
And One Day, GOD Said
... Lions Will Do The Same
Both The Noble Horse & The Pride of Lions
GOD Made Them Man's Super Adventure-Trains

Sleep

Supine, void of rest,
Enumerating cricket chirps.
Should be counting sheep.

SLEEP AND ARISTOTLE.
How to get a good night's sleep--
Instead of enumerating sheep,
Recline beautifully with Aristotle,
Don't decline, hit that bottle,
What does rhyme with Aristotle?
I ponder passing parades of axolotls,
Maybe Australia's golden wattles,
Driving by, foot on throttle,
Yes, they all rhyme with Aristotle,
Maybe I shouldn't hit that bottle,
I'll curl up with this learned book,
"What is beautiful?" at Aristotle I'll look,
Musing thoughts so philosophical,
Aristotle waxing lyrical and logical,
Far different from enumerating sheep,
Drifting into a good night's sleep..........
In our country’s
calendar of events
September is replete with
pursuits worth enumerating
reminding me to bask in meaningful
involvements, optimizing God-granted strength
midst pressure, propelled by blissful functionality.
With well-being focus…
I learned that September 16-22
is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week,
thus, my schedule seeks for appropriate
on-line seminars for the sake of our special child.
As to educational endeavours
Sports Heroes Day was celebrated
on the 10th, while all virtual classes for
Academic Year 2021-2022 did start last 13
along festivities like Family Thanksgiving Day.
Then birthdays and anniversaries
of loved ones radiate with greetings...
thus, fellowships abound, although compliance
to social distancing and health protocols is practiced.
Topping these all, September
commences Christmas celebration…
now, here am I preparing for my teaching
engagement, grateful to God for opportunities
to do* my life-building roles, with joy and diligence.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

At times i find myself, revisiting the past,
not living each day as though it were my last.
Wasting time, enumerating years that mount,
previewing God’s blessings to numerous to count.
At times I’m lower, “than a moles belly on digging day,”
which is always an inducement for me to pray.
