Best Dolphins Poems
If I'm not home for Christmas
And I've lost my heart at war
Just know that I'll be there with you, my love
From heaven...for evermore
By chance I cross the oceans
And see dolphins swim with glee
I'll find the brightest star at night
And bring it home for you and me
We'll sit upon its fingers
And watch the mornings light
And when the evenings sun sets down
We'll go back there again at night
Just know that I'll be there with you, my love
And I'll be with you...for evermore
By chance the dolphins swim alone
And I lose my heart at war
*Dedicated to all the soldiers and heroes at war who have sweethearts and wives at home.
Out of all the creatures that live in the sea
There is only one that stands out for me
Cute looking and grey and on it's back a fin
You have probably guessed, it is the dolphin.
I'll describe them in detail so in your mind you can see
I will do my best to create some imagery
They grow eight foot long; have a tail and a fin
And a flipper on each side that helps them to swim.
A pod or a school is what you would call their group
They can do backward flips and loop the loop
Their food source is found in all the world's oceans
There's squid, small fish, plankton and crustaceans.
With cute slit eyes and a skin of silky grey
You can swim with them, but you'll have to pay
There are many now living in captivity
Now surely thats wrong , they all should be free.
Half of their brain stays awake when they go to sleep
Thats to prevent them from drowning when they're in the deep
They use echolocation, scientists have found
And thats how they know how to find their way around.
Sometimes they seem to jump up vertically
Spy-hop thats called so their surroundings they see
They sometimes follow ships and swim alongside
They're conserving their energy, they call that bow-ride.
The favourite is the bottlenose but there are others as well
Some species of dolphins in big rivers do dwell
They are very intelligent and awesome to see
And very beautiful creatures, I'm sure you'll agree.
To see them swim in the ocean is a beautiful sight
So keep your eyes peeled and one day you might
The first time that I saw one, I was just a child
In a movie called 'Flipper' sadly not in the wild.
Their habitat is changing and that's a tragedy
Because man is so selfish and pollutes the sea
And with careless fishing some do not survive
So solutions must be found so that dolphins can thrive.

as lover's stroll amidst the morning hush
silent eyes yawn, stumbling fingers entwine
whilst through frothy waves reflective skies blush
squalling seagulls sip the morning sunshine
silent eyes yawn, stumbling fingers entwine
as playful dolphins tumble in the waves
squalling seagulls sip the morning sunshine
through the mist, sandpiper perched on the staves
as playful dolphins tumble in the waves
momentary embrace of lover's lips
through the mist, sandpiper perched on the staves
as darkness excites in solar eclipse
momentary embrace of lover's lips
silently gazing at horizon's edge
as darkness excites in solar eclipse
trailing footsteps fade out from ocean's ledge
silently gazing at horizon's edge
whilst through frothy waves reflective skies blush
trailing footsteps fade out from ocean's ledge
as lover's stroll amidst the morning hush

According to A-Z Animals List, Dolphins are mammals and therefore animals who give live birth, have a spinal column, nurse their young and are warm blooded.
Dolphins
Watch the aquatic mammals reigning warm waters
Riding ocean waves zestfully flexing playful behavior
Jumping high in air performing acrobatic maneuvers
Synchronizing movements impressing fond watchers.
Be dazzled by their graceful moves peeking up for air
Turning around buoyantly raising caudal fins in pairs
Diving elongated noses under great depths of ocean
Resurfacing with gallant jumps stirring up emotions.
See a dolphin show joyous amid human interactions
As gray mammals emerge like torpedoes in action
Looping in air artfully, bowing to cheerful reactions
Dancing on water regally evoking rush of passions,
Admire as they toss a ball delighting in jovial acts
Walking like penguins to rise and kiss human hands
Splashing water impishly they rejoice as kids laugh
Dipping under water to perform upside down dance,
Amazing to see how they obey human instructions
Jumping through hoops upon listening to directions
Adorning choreographic motion for grateful crowds
Waving hello intelligently as people loudly applaud,
Don't miss gracious goodbye as they retreat in style
Being aware children are grinning with lofty smiles
Saying thanks, rising high-up to accept their reward
Brilliantly they pause to acknowledge the applause.

two dolphins swimming -
an endless sea before them -
frolick in rhythmic waves
as they leap up to catch sun’s rays
splendid torpedo bodies
glide gracefully along
as their world mirrors blue sky. . . .

When my daughter was fifteen
we went on holiday to Cyprus
always a life long desire of hers
was to swim with a dolphin
Imagine her delight and joy
when we saw a sign for this
paying for her was not cheap
but maybe the best sum ever spent
At the pool we watched the display
then off she went to kit up
on returning she was first
boy he sure took her for a ride
When she returned poolside
that dolphin kept returning to her
though others were waiting their turn
the delight on her face spoke volumes
At the end we all got to stroke it
and wow I have never felt so good
its skin was like nothing I have ever touched
silky smooth magical feel, a memory that lives on
I even got a dolphins kiss
as I knelt beside it
today
we don't think
therefore we are not
descartes is dead and gone
machines and computers work and think for us
our minds are shrinking, withering and decaying from lack of exercise
I ride with dolphins on their back
Away from land into the blue
We’re free to roam, no beaten track
I ride with dolphins on their back
Sense of adventure I don’t lack
Where this will lead I have no clue
I ride with dolphins on their back
Away from land into the blue
With leaping dolphins I ride far
Away from land into the blue
Our guides the sun and evening star
With leaping dolphins I ride far
Where mermaids sing and eat caviar
In awe I watch the ocean view
With leaping dolphins I ride far
Away from land into the blue
I ride with dolphins far and wide
Away from land into the blue
The water frolics by my side
I ride with dolphins far and wide
And watch the seagulls as they glide
To worldly ties I bid adieu
I ride with dolphins far and wide
Away from land into the blue

Ganges River Dolphins are listed as, endangered
and once lived in the fresh river systems of Nepal, India, and Bangladesh
These Dolphins only live in freshwater rivers, and are essentially blind
and are an important indicator, for the health of their river’s ecosystem
These Dolphins get caught up in fishing nets, as human bycatch
and human overfishing, is depleting their prey, on their own patch
They are also poached, for human greed of their meat and oil
and humans have encroached, like henchman that deplete with turmoil
Peaceful
Graceful
Blissful
Cheerful
Swimming dolphins peaceful graceful play
In a poetic blissful cheerful day
dolphins brightly smile
as they show off their talents
for eager tourists
Delightfully friendly dolphins can live for over forty years
Observe them swim with synchronised movements
Leaping out of the water in perfect unison
Prey such as fish and squid is found using echolocation
How I marvel when they ‘sky hop’ vertically out of the water
I recall the first time I saw one … it was re-runs of ‘Flipper’ on TV!
Noises made by dolphins sound like whistles and squeaks
Such social creatures they live in ‘pods’ with many other dolphins

"Lo! the dolphin dotes laughs
My passion is the maritime coast
'Ocean!' said I, 'thing of seawater.'
Oceans dolphins
In a kingdom full of coastlines
Eagerly I looked for the seaway
I crave the marine, more mare
That up bound jellyfish - that unbound jellyfish
I felt compelled to sniff the territorial waters
I am shorn of my catfish
I discovered the riverbanks
Suddenly, I heard some tiding
Rise, fly mighty dolphin up through the skies
And its eyes have all the ponding
Resulting and resulting with my pacific
But in the fact that it was fluttering
I had dreamed of ribs cluttering
Only this and a ameba
The west water whaling
The dry dock smiled
How they were curtailing, prevailing - derailing
I discovered the crayfish
I crave the marine, amidships maritime
Ah, distinctly I was swallowing
Rise, fly mighty dolphin up threw the skies"

Creatures of the deep
Magnificent sight to see
dolphins swim freely.
Always on the run
ready to play and have fun
dolphins game peek- boo.
Do they see you too?
With a heart so pure
reminds me of other worlds.
