Best Doddle Poems

Every word, sentence and paragraph has three main components. Each one has a beginning, a middle, and an ending. On All Poetry there are two groups specializing in brevity. Pure brevity and brevity. Pure brevity can have as a complete poem only one word. Brevity can have more than one. "There is nothing new under the sun." But just supposing the words won't come, and you do not know what to say? What words, or images or memories pop into your head and/or your heart or mind. Use your God given imaginations

You could say," My mind is a complete blank today. I really don't know what to say. I don't know how to think it. I had a thought lingering in my mind for a few brief moments. Than it slipped away like always. Christians can rely upon Jesus Christ and/or the Holy Spirit for inspirational words and topics. There is always the Bible. And there are free on-line books of the Bible on the internet.
Jews can rely upon the Bible as well for background knowledge and/or information. The Bible is really for everyone. When I was younger I used the Old Testament books of the Bible. Psalms and Proverbs. I still draw upon the bottomless well of knowledge, the Holy Bible!

For example I wasn't sure if the correct word was either earth or world. So I used the word earth. I searched the book of Revelations. Only to come up empty. The correct word I needed was world. I made the necessary changes to my Psalm of Victory! The psalm is to be found on my All Poetry website.

Observational poems are based upon experiences either yours or other people. The full white luminous moon lite up the starry nighttime's sky. Famous poets frequently relied upon nature for inspiration. "Poems were made by fools like me but only God can make a tree." I forget her name, but remember one line of her famous poem.

Avoid having things either too short or too long. Depending upon your composition and/or audience. But there are one word, sentence and line poems. Avoid being verbose and using fourteen letter words. Unless it is recommended. Jot down your thoughts, doddle do art work. Whatever works out best for you and your prospective readers. Pray really works!

Love in Christ Jesus!

Premium Member Blank Paper

I took a pen and piece of paper
Looked at the blank page before my eyes
Thoughts came in hurried nano seconds
 Nothing captured or captivated the mind

The pen twirled in my fingers
Round and round like a spinning top
Words and images passed in fleeting fragments
Yet nothing concrete formed within

The page remained blank
I stared off into space
 Space did not give inspiration
Words seemed beyond my reach

I began to doddle and rhyme words
Maybe this might give me hope
It became more like a game
Rhyming as many words as I could

Writing was not going as planned
My paper filled with scrambled words
I put it away in my collection
Only to pull it out as fast as I put it away

The Mentor

We all have one in our lives, someone better than you,
not much to be done about it, in shades of blue,
where did he get the lines from, was it God-given?
Maybe, to keep you in place but how the hell was he driven?

Suddenly there's a change, now I'm better than him,
I want it permanent, not just in the interim;
however, I'm grateful for the role model, it's a doddle,
no looking back, easy, no longer need the mollycoddle.

Thank you Robert, for giving me all of the superlatives,
now I know reasoning, aims and that justice lives;
the best thing is the platform you gave for progression,
and being greater than you is no longer an obsession.

There's a smile forming when I see the students come,
dig out my latin, they just go on and on, ad infinitum.

Half Term Racket

My charges are both off school.
"What shall we do today?"
"Can we please go to Jesters,
The day's all dull and grey."

So I'm in a soft play centre,
There's a cacophony of sound,
Children, screaming, shrieking,
My head's starting to pound.

The children are having lots of fun,
Climbing, sliding, swinging,
But the raucous noise is deafening,
My eardrums are ringing.

I'm trying to get them to come home,
To leave this intense roar,
But they just shout as they run off,
"No, we want to play some more."

So if you think my jobs a doddle,
No more than child's play,
I can tell you it's no picnic
In this noisy place today.

Yepper-doddle, today I’ll use my own noddle.
My prized antique frame sustained a despised bust.
Wanting to show my man the tough dough in my crust,
I found strong glue and told that goo I was nonplussed.
Next, I grabbed frame, soda and sat on my sofa.

Three tries – no prize, so with both eyes quite wide,
I called the glue a boob lube, dumb as a square loop,
and threatened to incise its worthless insides.
I rose, fetched pose and a calming balm libation,
then returned to pestering with less sweltering.

Glue applied, both sides, I made my hands a vice
and, well fries n’ flies, I squeezed degrees of might.
Bullet sweat, my muscles clinched like a barrette,
I pressed longer than tourists eating pullets.
Then when gingerly, tenderly letting go –

          glue thoroughly, tauntingly offended me -

son of a bee, ugly as his glue-mom-harlot,
refused to seam my antique frame back to its gleam.
Past bummed, I stood to sweetly summon my husband,
but my feet stuck to carpet, mucked as a tar pit.

Dreams

We've all had them at one time or another.
Exciting career, fabulous home, or maybe something other.
As children, girls playing dress up may become a model.
Boys on their three wheelers learn that racers do not doddle.

Having dreams stimulate the imagination.
Everyone has their own secret fascination.
In today's fast-paced society most people have forgotten about their dreams.
So to them everything is exactly as it seems.

It is amazing sometimes looking back at some of the dreams we've had.
And those of us who've realized theirs must be extremely glad.
Dreams can range from the simple to the magical.
Nothing is off limits - be creative and fanciful.

I did not know back then that my passion was poetry.
Sometimes there are so many words inside insisting to be set free.
Don't give up on your dreams - no matter however long it takes.
Whether your dreams drive you up to the mountains or even through the lakes.

Molly coddle,
Life's a doddle;
Pander,pamper,
Baby,pet
Spoil, then cosset.

Shelter,shield
And thoughts conceal;
Handle,dandle
Chaperone and guard,

Destroying common-sense.

Premium Member The Red Hibiscus

A red hibiscus bloomed
In the backyard yesterday
Reminding me of my mother
And things she used to say.
Like, “Oh, look at that butterfly
And the color of its wings,” and
“Don’t you just love this time of year,
It’s so uplifting in the Spring!”
She would doddle ‘round like a queen without a crown
Admiring all the plants and people living,
Seeing deeper than eyes can see
Rarely taking but always giving.
She loved plants and seeds of every kind
From azaleas to zinnia flowers,
And talked to them like family and friends
Any day or nighttime hour.
Daisies, tulips or marigolds
Roses, or chrysanthemums,
She loved them all, Spring, Summer or Fall
In shade or the open sun.
And there were times I was embarrassed
By her childlike, effervescent ways,
But in retrospect, I’d give anything
To have just one more day.
Of hearing her voice speak softly
Like she did when time stood still,
“I love the red hibiscus, son, and you,
I always will.

Money a Cruel Agent 4

The only big struggle
Is for money bristle
Finishes like a bubble
When we see Sin puddle.
Is this so thing doddle?
Actually it is a circle
Vicious; none to fiddle
As it makes one nuzzle
In their cozy castle.
Earlier there was raffle;
Making us quite subtle
In all innate our struggle.
Money’s single ripple
Can conscience straddle
Into treachery subtle.
So dear when see boodle
Don’t forget to whistle;
And flee away with chuckle
From this vicious girdle.

Passed

Congratulations you’ve done it!
And with flying colours too.
But then we knew you could do it
We had every faith in you.
Although your nerves were jangling
And your tummy wouldn’t settle,
We knew once you took it to task
You’d conquer that bit of metal.
Emergency stop,turn in the road,
Highway Code a doddle.
And you should be proud of yourself
The examiner didn’t mollycoddle.
Now at last you’re up there
With the favoured rest.
You can throw away the L plates
Now you’ve PASSED your test.....
But just a word of caution;
Before you set off into the blue,
Remember the road’s not a race track
And we’re fond of every bit of you.—
Well now you’ve got the green light,
It’s go ahead,action stations!
Grab the wheel, use your head and your heart,
And once again DRIVER congratulations.

I wrote this for a friend who passed their test.

Mollycoddle- be gentle with

A Sorry Sight

Woke up this morning feeling fine,
looked in the mirror at this body of mine,
Said to myself, you're such a disgrace,
I can hardly bear to look you in the face.

Get out there, get some exercise,
Said I'm not fat, see, my shoes still fit.
OK I said, now joking apart
The bloke in the mirror is a sad old fart,

My trainers I found under the bed, on the floor,
The shorts had somehow shrunk in the drawer.
My vest, for the running, gave me no mirth,
Just about stretched round my widening girth.

Now dressed and ready, baseball cap on my pate,
With a determined look on my face, I got to the gate,
Had to rest and wait for my breath to abate,
Oh dear me ! I'm in such a state.

Start with a short walk I think that is best,
Anything more could mean cardiac arrest.
Just down to the square will do for today,
While the Taverna is shut, it's safer that way.

Three short hilly roads I had to traverse,
Now I have to go back, the same in reverse.
Easy downhill thought it was a doddle,
Harder going back as I started to waddle.

Out of breath, I had to stop and wait,
Again for my breathing to abate.
Onward and upward I said to myself,
You know this can only be good for your health.

Managed to get home and and hadn't expired
Sat on the porch, I perspired. So very tired.
But I did my first foray into this exercise plan,
I hope I can live to be a fitter old man.

Money a Cruel Agent 5

A beautiful and sweet girdle
Collecting it is quite doddle
Counting is like a hot fettle
Touching it is a bit brittle.
Let be the Geeta or the Bible,
Let be grapes or pineapple,
Importance of money able
Is not be explainable.
Money can make a castle
Or buy handful cattle
Or can earn a good title
Or can bound to peddle.
All is easily possible
By the mint boodle.
Carry them in a duffle
Or in a golden vessel,
It is going to be a rouble.
So friends value a boodle
And crave for it to chuckle
The taunts of world little.

Himani a Helping Hand

Wearing a beautiful girdle
Treating digging a hill a doddle
And still see, remains fettle;
Eats grapes or pineapple,
Of keeping records capable.
Her work unexplainable;
Devotion makes a castle
Removes all sort of cattle
And forms school’s title.
All for her is easily possible;
But doesn’t care boodle.
Carry her things in duffle
Needs things very little.
With her I never chuckle;
Supported me in my brittle.
We never saw her baffle
Always she created a circle
Of good friends with chortle.
Smile always like a gaggle,
Let enemies on you giggle.

Premium Member Solitude By the Reverie

Sitting by the beach the lights of yesterday grow dim
while the calming waves of terranas caress my reverie,
the hotting sands bequeath their perfect light;
A lull in time, a moment of grace
and soon I apprehend it all with none;

Nature's casting light
and the deedle doddle of my skin
beneath the burning sun;

Palm trees breathe and I could swear
this day was made for me..

Right here on this beach the world falls away
and I'm too far to inch recall the boister of my kind
Befitted for the sea I long for no one else but him

Tonight,
they'll be a little wine? a yellow dress?
a dance mayhap?  Romance?...
