Folded away, tossed aside, no longer in view.
Nothing else printed, nothing else said about you.
We'll probably move on, we'll probably heal,
and we'll never have known what you feel.
If you can work, or go to school.
You will be allowed to. If not
how can you discover a non
spam or get rich scheme.
Promising to solve all of your
financial problems. "You can
earn $10,00 working from home."
I hung up my cell phone two
times.
Mary C. and I wanted to call
our mutual friend, Starshadow.
Who has self quarantined. But
on three occasions the robot
interrupted my personal my
Cricket cell phone. Because I
did not respond. They promised
to call me back within 42 or 48
hours. I will vote by disconnecting
the scam call.
Success at last! I was able to
call her and Mary dropped

The people did not know if
they would be back there
two weeks from last Sunday.
My friend Mary C and I will
not be attending any more
community meals in the
cities of Everett and Snohomish.
King and Snohomish Counties
are two of the most impacted
counties in the Evergreen State
of Washington.
Since all of the parks have been
shut down in Snohomish County
Washington. And mayor Cassie
Franklin has ordered Everett under
a lock down. President Donald
Trump is calling out the National
Guard for the State of Washington.
The State of Colorado has dispatched
300 doctors, nurses. and medical
assistants to the State of Washington.
And they have already arrived,
and are working.
The States of California, New York,
and I believe Illinois will also
have National Guards present
in their states as well.
Stay at home, stay safe.
Say your prayers, read your
Bibles and home devotionals
Attend your church's on-line
services if possible.
Air out your dwelling places,
if at all possible.

Joan of Arc
HE speaks, and messengers appear
To innocence of one so young in year
The calling understood, she will not flee
Till France is free of English tyranny
The struggle long, a hundred years or more
An army tired, sapped of strength by war
She steps into the fray, new hope, inspire
Her words believed, the lighting of the fire
Hoorah, the trepid siege of Orleans broken
Triumphant Gaules their spirit now awoken
Battle proved, proud see her banner fly
On to the capital, her new war cry
Though the king be doubtful to her power
Sanctioned he, and blessed her of the hour
There, before the gates and walls so tall
Defending well, Paris refused to fall
Defeated, wounded, weary, drawn, down
Undone, alone, rejected by the crown
Falls into allied hands when out at large
Imprisoned to be tried, on falsehood charge
Religious order sent to set out court
To seek and force the answer that was sort
She, unwavering in her self belief
Her story standing gave them no relief
A minister dispatched to find (his) truth
Then shout her heresy from every roof
A thousand times the question fills her ear
A thousand times she answers without fear
Time was never going to be her friend
None came in aid or cared her to defend
Sent forth to burn in blazing execution
Inglorious was her perfect persecution
True to HIM her love would not betray
For HIM, at the stake, her life she lay
The passing years, gave her soul release
St Joan, now rests in reverence and peace.

*Light travels at the speed of 186,000 miles per second
When we look up to the stars, we view light sent eons ago
Dispatched by Mark Antony to fetch his queen
An Egyptian with beauty of world renown
Five-thousand mighty Roman warriors sailed
Committed to driving Egypt’s army down
Cleopatra was basking on a Nile barge
While the fleet remained offshore waiting for night
‘Neath the cloak of darkness warriors arrived
To surprise defenders and battle incite
Fully armored Roman forces held the edge
Razor-sharp swords pierced Egyptians’ tanned skin
Into the gently flowing Nile, Egyptian blood spilled
The desert soldiers’ garb was softer than tin
When heat rose with dawn’s light on the pyramids
Only a few hundred Egyptian soldiers remained
But they fought with the courage of a thousand more
Determined to protect Cleopatra’s reign
Defenders fought with valor; none sought mercy
Just as victory seemed within Rome’s grasp
A bloody trail to the palace had been carved
But Cleopatra lay dead, bitten by an asp
Noble Antony awaited his army
Rejoicing when the first ship came into view
But they’d waged their fiercest fight futilely
Now they mustered to strength to tell Antony too
Warriors’ hearts were filled with compassion
The sign of a truly devoted band
As they offered support for their ruler’s loss
Antony felt the power of each and every man
*But for the fact that Antony and Cleopatra
were lovers, this poem is entirely fictional.
Antony and Cleopatra actually wed and
Antony moved to Egypt.
Entry for the “Roman Legion” contest
With the onset of years
erstwhile crazy ideas
abandoned with caution and dread
now crowd my mind
no peace I will find
till my conscience lies neatly in shreds
Conscience, out the way
there's hell to pay
for too long I've toed the line
Ms Goody Two-Shoes
who never once boozed
longs to taste the fruit of the vine
Since exiting the womb
no breathing room
another's cousin, sister or daughter
later in life
mother and wife
now breaking free to taste the sweet water
Once meek and restrained
willingly chained
missed out on the pleasures of life
no fun to be had
not a chance at being bad
as a dutiful mother and wife
Inch by sure inch
my conscience I'll lynch
spread my wings which were hitherto clipped
down with taboos
I'll expose my tattoos
and enjoy my first skinny dip
I dream of a match
to telly dispatched
on the streak my clothes I'll abort
displaying my tattoos
and unmentionables too
and a full frontal view before caught
No doubt you'd agree
my earlier poetry
has a somewhat conservative ring
conscience, step aside
you've my freedom denied
readers, prepare for smut on a string
Though passionately aflame
this steri-clean dame
aims in the heart zone to practice due care
though my conscience'll be dead
of all life been bled
I'll draw the line at illicit affairs
On Feathered Wings
dispatched to heaven
on feathered wings of angels…
a child’s fervent prayers
Inspired by SKAT A’s contest.
Synchronicity woven by fate’s volatile hands
Gave rise to calamity in deceptive, calm skies
Creating tragedy so harsh that reason defies
Into a nation’s sad heart, a mortal arrow lands
"Hear ye, teachers," the benign invitation had been sent
Demonstrate the right stuff, be the first launched into space
Compete they did earnestly for this distinguished place
To young mother Christa McAuliffe, NASA gave consent
That same day Florida’s governor prepared to launch
His much anticipated U.S. Senate campaign
En route to his first stop in Jacksonville on a state plane
Bob Graham’s speech was well prepared for supporters staunch
From the air, Graham watched as a sudden flash appeared
Souls of seven astronauts dispatched to heaven’s gate
His campaign aborted as circumstance would dictate
And the hopes of a traumatized country disappeared
First teacher in space lost abruptly, never to return
Husband and daughter left behind, forever changed
Profound tributes to a beleaguered space program arranged
Perils of space travel countless mourners would discern
* Written February 1, 2019 for Emile Pinet's Enclosed Rhyme Contest.
* On January 28, 1986, the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded just seconds after launch from Cape Canaveral. Ironically, Florida Governor Graham, accompanied by members of the Capital Press Corps, did not understand what they had seen in the sky until after their plane landed in Jacksonville. The excitement of a campaign launch was quickly dispelled by the depth of the tragedy that claimed the lives of teacher Christa McAuliffe and six other astronauts. His campaign postponed, Graham returned to the state capital to observe a period of national mourning. The last words the astronauts heard from the control tower were, "Throttle Up, Challenger."
Sweeping time under the carpet
Is a time consuming chore,
Like spring cleaning
My consciousness
Upon a shingle shore,
Or picking up the seconds
Strewn along the cutlass beach,
Where the moments linger sadly
Like a daydream out of reach.
Spending hours of contemplation
Where the forest meets the field,
Where the larks rise
From the meadow
Just before the day is sealed,
Can be such an exaltation
In the sheltered heights of time,
As elusive words come slowly
And create another rhyme.
Casting petals to the river
Throwing coins into the crowd,
Just two softly borne illusions
That the seasons have allowed,
In the nest of all creation
Where the eggs of time are hatched,
Moments flutter with emotion
Just before they are dispatched.
Then they twine with every minute
And the minutes turn to hours,
As the course of life is flowing
Through those changeless hanging bowers,
Then the hours cast their garment
At the ending of each day,
Like a wordless golden manuscript
With nothing more to say…
The night grows heavy as the bells do toll,
And tears will fall, all will behold.
As deep in Gods earth is laid to rest half a soul
Once entwined and beautifully blessed.
Now those left behind will cry out with envy,
For the peace of ages the lost holds so clearly.
Those hearts left behind will cry out with the cold
As bittersweet memories circle of old.
Emblazoned images circle of walks once walked,
As the other half now goes with God to talk.
Hearts do tremble with sadness that once knew love,
As time stretches, a lonely run begun.
Time will carry forth until the other flies free
Dispatched by deaths angel to soar with the breeze.
Then those dispatched by deaths’ grim thoughts will unite
Together to find peace at last.
As the breathes of two souls will heal and hold fast,
And love will again hold them close, at last.
The child, now sleeping, loudly snores.
The nightlight shines there on the wall.
If you could peer under the door,
The sight awaiting would enthrall:
It seems the toys have come to life!
They are engaged in no mere game:
A toyland battle to the death!
The superheroes are to blame;
The men in green have few troops left;
Their losses heavy in the strife.
With Duplo blocks, they barricade,
Regroup their forces there behind.
They inventory their grenades,
Make mental notes of where they've mined,
Prepare to meet their tragic end.
Magneto rises from the floor,
Unleashes his attractive beam;
The troops let out a racous roar,
for they are plastic, it would seem,
thus to his will they do not bend.
A team dispatched to try and flank,
To scale the chair, come from the back.
But Hulk awaits them like a tank,
Behind a pillow, sneak attack.
The spear is blunted, further thinned.
The captain, knowing things are dire,
Determines he will save the men,
and laying bare some lamp cord wire,
he challenges Magneto then;
His sergeant understands and grins.
Magnetic forces back in play,
the soldier runs, flips the switches.
The predator becomes the prey;
Magneto, arcing current, twitches:
a turning point in this grim war.
The flash of light wakes up the child;
she bolts up, eyes now open wide.
The spell is broken; meek and mild,
the toys, inert, lay side by side.
Her head back down, again she snores.

So that's an ABABC DEDEC tail-rhyme, and kind of a fun one!
I met a Sheriff the other day.
Just teasing, I happened to say.
I am stopping by to pay my taxes.
Giving you my money before axes,
He said to me, “I get none of that money“.
I looked up in surprise, and thought, how funny.
He and many others forget our taxes pay salaries.
They work for us and their duties are in galleries.
Without working people to pay taxes, they would not be.
They forget these things after office acquired you see.
They pump us up upon the Election Day’s arrival.
Reinstatement in public office is part of survival.
We the people pay for their cars, meals, homes, indeed.
Our money than dispatched into the funds that do seed,
Without the people paying taxes, their jobs would recede.
We the people elect and pay wages, so justice will proceed.
However, many law officials take rules made for all.
Bending them to fit their need, in name of the law,
I have the utmost respect for officers on patrol.
They need to be cautious, to keep crime under control.
However, to break any law, for no reason at all, indeed.
Makes justice suffer, two wrongs make a misdeed,
Their pledge, for no reason at all to break their creed,
Serve and protect, without wrongdoing, as agreed.
An oath, I know they all take and so easily forget after.
Some upon that tomorrow, just ease back in laughter.
An invisible power,
brings forth a new rider.
The second of four,
rendering an eminent fire.
War and destruction,
he's dispatched to deliver.
Countless souls will perish,
their blood flowing like rivers.
His judgement now emanates,
cast swiftly throughout the land.
Repent convinced,
or prepare to engage in a last stand.
His fury conducted,
could very well be your last.
Keep God in your heart,
and put sin in your past.
This second of 4,
his horse will be red.
He comes for your soul,
so don't go to bed.
When I was walking in the zoo,
I saw a strange and wondrous sight.
You would have found in funny too,
Unlikely creatures in a fight.
I saw a strange and wondrous sight,
A hippo fighting with a cat.
Hyenas really laughed at that.
You would have found it funny too.
The pair were really not well matched.
Of course the cat was soon dispatched.
Unlikely creatures in a fight.
But cats have nine lives as you know
And so he still has eight to go
The Hidden Truth
When darkness comes and steals the night.
It bumps and hides from daytimes light.
Bastioned from the light of day.
The night time harvest is under way.
The shadows stalk its new found prey.
Survivors fight to find their grade.
Life events now take their toll.
Some pop a pill to gain control.
Dispatched from hope, more loss of ground.
The demon screams without a sound.
Do-or-die, we fight for light.
When darkness comes and steals the night.
