Premium Member Unsung Verse

What's behind the terse, unspoken sound
One that abruptly inserted a period
Invoking a sigh in the middle of a sentence

Was it the uneasy voice of her heart's lyrics
Announcing your song is still incomplete
Or ambivalence of despondent music
Reluctantly strumming devoid of melody

Perhaps it’s time for your bashful words
To complement echo of the unsung verse

Disclosing explicitly to her anxious world:

You saw it in the smile of her cheerful eyes
And heard it from symphony of dulcet vibes
And felt it in the ballet of her delicate touch
When she held you close in an intimate hug
While mellifluous whispers of love spoke

Premium Member 5th Avenue Sunrise

jampacked city streets
that jangled and banged
in the raucous jarring day
shifted
from business to boogaloo
squeezing into moonlight
party lights
gin and lime-kissed
gimlet sequined dress
strutted
in studded six-inch heels
riveting flair
provoking jive and jazzy nights
to tame this lion of New York

The bed swallowed the evening
sucked-up in slumbered
sobering snooze
exhaling the drunkard’s stench
while the warmth of whiskey
and you next to me
laid dreamy still

popped up and propped up
restless and ragged
realizing the changing view
through the dirt-stained window
a pool of placid sunrise
igniting
colorless clustered towers
bulwarks and girders
scraping the sky

out of the easterly clouds
a creeping golden palette
arose
touching every crevice
defining each silhouette
your body stirs deliberate and slow

rainbow hued eyes
slenderly slitted catching
the new-found light
opening, tenderly revealing
the landscape of your smile
disclosing
a cozy contentment

waking with hello
as I fall into your dream
and a new day

Magical Moments

Gazing lovingly upon her velvets
Beautiful heart shaped glass
Searching about the vanity's
Disclosing drawer and a brush
Gliding it sensually through
Her cascadings golden hair
Mesmerized as joy fills my eyes
Once more; such beauty her light
Giggling while turning knowingly
Amid her silkened bareness
Cherries set in firm atop, soft
Voluptuous vanilla breast
Swaying gently fragrants perfect
Hourglass afore that my heart
Timeless this love's windless
Chills caressing my spirit
Left drifting inside these her
Spellbinding, oceans painted eyes.

Premium Member Masquerade

Living in a masquerade
Hiding our truths in the shade
Veiled Behind electronic devices
The Physical world Minimises

Concealed behind a blue and white light
No melatonin released at night
Our brains don’t accept it’s time to sleep
And every day we’re on repeat

A vicious cycle ceases to stop
When hid behind our phones and lap top

Wanting to be something we’re not
Living life through a mobile robot
Pupils straining , brains rearranging
Photograph your food , words misconstrued

We used to wear watches and read paper maps
Took photos with cameras , had real contact
We spent Summer days out in the fresh air , riding our bikes with the wind in our hair

Simulation , stimulation lost inside a lie
Isolation, modification , apps that beautify
Lacking essential social skills
Online Casino gives you thrills

Book shops closing , hackers disclosing
Filters , snaps of zombies posing
Selfie sticks and brains decomposing
Judging ourselves With an air of self loathing

Expectations of Instant gratification
Vulnerable souls face Victimisation
Predators and bullies target their prey
Illicit pictures on display

Conversations overthrown
Surrounded by people
Yet still quite alone

With one selfish text lives become wrecked
Took your eyes off the road just for a sec
Sirens arriving , little chance of surviving
All because of your self-absorbed driving

We hold it dearer than humanity
Ignorant and lost at sea
We need to find our way back to land
And release these crutches from our hands

Love Rests Between Us

'To see is to believe,' and the fact
Remains that all we believe may not be.
I see you, and you see me... but
Love you cannot not see.

si(I see not our breaths,

love,

but I believe we breathe)gh

Would you, could you - After all,
I'm disclosing this mask
Right here in front of you -
At least, believe in me?

Premium Member God Is Not Hiding

God does not hide among the stars
Somewhere in forest’s dense foliage,
In the depths of distant seas
Or creeds of mystical faith traditions,
God is not confined to the minds of gurus
In the sacred blabbering of preachers
Even the beauty of nature’s cycles,
Or somewhere undisclosed to humanity.

God is not hiding, at all, my dear friend,
In all these things making him/herself evident
In all things disclosing the divine mind
In all things making clear the right paths.
God is not hiding, at all, my dear friend,
But resides there in your heart and mind
Revealing his/her will in omnipresence,
And, if you seek God, you will find God.

Premium Member Facebook - An Album of Tarnished Reflections

Every image and text we post on Facebook
is selected and air-brushed,
to present our lives as we would like it to be,
sharing images for self congratulation and gloating.

We are both the viewer and the viewed,
the audience and the actor
mutually disclosing tarnished,
filtered and selected images and impressions
to create a make-believe social world.

Now we learn that our private data
and that of our friends
has been leaked to those that
can analyse and create a profile
or our weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

Advertisements and fake news stories
are fed to our in-boxes
to change the way we think.

A chest-full of tarnished reflections
left on our 'Welcome' mats.

Facebook faces front and rear,
are all tarnished reflections.

Premium Member Staring Into the Abyss

Staring into the abyss of crises’ appearance
I’m stricken with panic, disclosing my unbelief and ignorance…
Yet with God’s radiance, I can behold His gracious sustenance
Indeed assuring His provisions of bountiful abundance
Midst wellness of healthy satisfaction-extravagance;
Thus, I thank Him for His timely deliverance.

Staring into the abyss of insecurity’s disillusionment
I’m gripped with anxiety’s tormenting predicament…
Yet with God’s vision, I can perceive thru His enlightenment
Indeed opening my sight to His sufficing contentment
Midst His blessings for spiritual fulfillment;
Thus, I praise Him for His compassionate engagement.

Staring into the abyss of uncertain future
I’m attacked by doubt’s torture…
Yet with God’s illumination, I can see His grace-gesture
Indeed expressed by His Scripture
Midst His promises for triumphant faith’s venture;
Thus, I worship Him along holiness virtues’ posture.

Staring into the abyss of life’s grueling difficulties
I’m paralyzed, confronted along terrorism’s realities…
Yet with God’s lens, I can see His miraculous verities
Indeed highlighting His mighty goodness-certainties
Midst His power* controlling universe entities;
Thus, I trust Him with my yielded faculties.

*1Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Premium Member Poetic Hide and Seek

Are we but dancers on an unlit stage
Disclosing secrets hidden in the angst of now
Revealing the ups and downs of then.
Singing in the choir of the off key
Whistling past punctuations grave yard.
Our words a chant to taunt the demons
Remind them that we are still here
That we have words and are not afraid to use them.

Do we not hide behind, and within
Each metaphoric medley of madness
Bare the essence of an eager soul
In the nakedness of our ramblings?
Children clamoring for attention
Making mud pies, walking through puddles,
Bravely turning off the night light
Yet still afraid of the dark.

But for myself, I warn you, I am here
Within the words I blend together
A guileless garment maker
Obsessed by the texture of the threads
Stitching errant words together
Into this patchwork that is me.
For I am here, peeking from within the fabric,
Modeling each moment on an unlit stage.

Premium Member Soul-Embrace Whispers

 Written: October 15, 2023

             _______________________________________________

Shadows dwell in the confines of dreams.
I delve into an abyss of enigmas streams.
The soul is a marvel waiting to be unfolded.
To be felt, embraced, and aired to the world.

I slowly peel up my mask for each wary tug.
Disclosing the truth lies beneath the shrug.
Finishing yet another conundrum or quest.
locating the vitality trapped inside the chest.

Inhalations of holy trees yearn to be heard.
A tune rich with wisdom, haphazardly blurred
It falls down in pools of various hues of gray.
Time hurdles have been destroyed in clay.

Lyrics fall akin to twigs in an autumnal breeze.
Build vivid notions in the mind with salient ease.
Imaginary oxblood leaks from your lover's lips.
Whispering whispers as the full moon dimly dips

These archaic cursive instances appear in wait.
I wish tears to dry before my memories slate.
They linger on a blank page since it is too late.
Or, mingle on a shared stage as poets relate.

Before such radiance fades in the night.
To waltz and wanton, yarns of moonlight
Stars strike notes, nurturing a symphony.
A tune that vibrates in the soul is harmony.

Thus, I disclose the core of my being.
As a star sways, watch its hint of foreseeing.
The soft rumblings of the heart's embrace
A romantic choreography, a cosmic chase

But we can bear power at any given time.
To fit inside and enable our souls to sublime.
Whispers of soul embrace a cosmic love chase.
I glance inwardly for calmness and grace.

Imagination's Tools

If my heart could be unveiled
In etchings on a canvas sky,
I would have to barter with the gods
for inks richly dyed,
ground saffron and vermilion, citrine and verdigris
could scarcely start to paint nuances of an exotic gypsy soul.
Could they read warm tones or cold,
looking in the heart's clear glass,
and formulate fresh colors to reveal emotion's tides;
create a new prism to divide the beaming spirit-spectrum light
and pierce the secret depths of me?
God gifts of light and power,
must formulate new tools to awaken mysteries,
break down barriers of mind,
disclosing a story line speaking only heart to heart
unwinding from a tantalizing spool.

Premium Member Politics

(Chain Verse Type)

Disclosing the obligation of receiving political donations
Donations are an interest that gets called in for favors
Favors are there to take advantage of our systems
Systems used to take advantage of self-serving interests

Interests of business is a return on their investments
Investments with strings to nowhere yield no profits
Profits are the golden rule at the heart of any business
Business without profits gets funding from somewhere

Somewhere out there is a truth hiding within the grass
Grass is where snakes take refuge before they strike

Making All Things New

There was a yesterday, pulling at my mind,
disclosing the expected mundane self
reacting, not inclined to throw the clay
upon the wheel, to love without a cause,
to walk the forest path seen overgrown again
and yet there was an incompleteness hovering.

It was as if a man would be content
caressing all the little treasures
that he knew and loved--the ones he kept
within a little box that rested close at hand.
Old friendly ghosts were there for nourishment
and with emollients for dying days.

And yet there was a scent upon the wind.
There was a voice, more powerful than ears accommodate,
that beat upon the modest self
that hides beneath my consciousness,
brought forth like Lazarus and swathed
in winding sheets, reluctant to arise.

A working Christ would be like that.
No force of arms, no epithet of conquest
nor a blooded history to write.
A gentle call into the tomb would do it—
just a soft reminder
that there is no grace in sleep
beneath a monument or stone—
that there is glorious bursting of the night
in store; there is a paradise to own.

It takes that tug upon the consciousness.
It takes an empty page or two
before the forward to a mound of years
set down. The alpha and omega bow
before that bright eternity of now
and are consigned to rhetoric;
there are the stars aborning,
charted, crumbling as their yesterday
becomes today, and in the morning light
will disappear.

D O I T S L O W E R

Have you ever stopped and watched how kids laugh on a carousel?
Or for few minutes you listen to the pounds and thumps of rain?

Have you ever followed a butterfly fluttering by?
Or stare at the sun painting red and orange bright?

Daily you put the alarm-- so conscious of time.
You want everything to be done on second hand;
you run as if each day on the fly.

When someone asked you: "How are you?"
Did you ever care to reply, asking back the same?

Your wife and kids ask you for a time
yet, most of the time all you said is wait for awhile.

The night skirts it's dark starry skies,
instead of going home, you chose to work for more.
When you are done and it's time to sleep,
still... there are hundred chores running round your head.

One Sunday morning, your child wanted a talk--
but your phone rang, you wave a hand and say tomorrow.
You are so haste to leave,
you didn't see his brow break to sorrow...

You lost the touch
even a good friendship die right before your eyes
'Cause you never had time to call and say "Hi"!

When will you realize quality time is a must?

Don't you know
when you dance fast on life's music
you are missing much?
Time is short and so is life
All music comes to an end, it doesn't last

When you see life like a race
you will miss half of the fun in each phase.

Worrying and hurrying through the day
is like disclosing some gifts along each way.

Life is never a race, do take it slower...
