"Dead leaves lay still until the wind takes them
here and there: even the last flower is withered:
yet there is a beauty in decay. "
                                            Quote by _Constance La France

No annoyance of fall! No rile! No rage! No wrath ever!
Resignation, rather, O leaf, has been your endeavor!
Dead? I will never dare to say! You are like life, zestful,
Just your physique and psyche have made you a bit restful;
Isn't death, like the now-old frail flesh and blood of yours, a truth?
Doesn't the sweet thought of the resuscitation, your mind sooth...?

Winds shake your stay, like the angels carry the upright souls,
Don't dread or fled or fright though turbulence shatters your goals;
A prisoner and the police? A slave and the master?
Nay, you are like a child who is saved in a disaster;
Will creatures that do not alter their selves ever revive?
Midst your extrinsic decay, dear leaf, you're fully alive...!

The sky wears cozy costumes; the colors of clouds alter;
The sun and shower evade the earth; galaxies falter;
Earthquakes arise; volcanoes erupt; little flowers fade,
Within you, O leaf, are many an optimistic shade;
Move on with all miraculous powers and forces fair!
Till you dwell in dignity of divine decorum rare...!!!

Satan a Defeated Foe

Author Dana Redricks
February 24, 2019

Depression trying to get
to get the best of me
but I know it ain't nothing
but the enemy
Some use drugs and food to
try to ease the pain
My God said to bring all
my burdens for his burden
is easy and his yoke is light
God will give us comfort and
help us sleep peacefully
Throughout the night
Many times the enemy
brings up my past but
trying to make me forget about
my future but I remember
his future while he's
reminding me of my past
Satan is a defeated foe.
Christ defeated him on the
cross two thousand years
ago and at the mention of
Jesus every demon and even
Satan got to flee

Happy French Defeated Day

He raised his glass, then sipped his beer.
Gringos all then raised a cheer!
"To Mexico!" Hear them cry, "Oh!"
"Today is good old Cinco de Mayo!"

"To freedom for old Mexico!"
Their 4th of July so we've been told.
"The day they earned their independence."
"The day they won for their descendents!"

"Señor, I think your book has cracks.
I think you need to check your facts.
Our independence is in the Fall.
About us, you seem to have built a wall."

"Buenos dias, señor" he would say.
"And happy Battle of Puebla Day."
Oh my, who could ever tell?
"Happy Cinco de Mayo to you as well!"

Death, Hell and the Grave Defeated

Death, Hell and the Grave Defeated

"I will ransom them from the power of the grave ; I will redeem them from death. Where, O death, are your plagues? Where, O grave, is your destruction?" Hos 13:14 NIV

Death, hell and the grave
Were defeated at the cross,
Although Christ's life appeared a failure;
No possible gain just loss.
This is where death lost its victory;
Resurrection made possible.
Just as Christ was resurrected;
Called forth by God’s heavenly angel.

Christ raised not a hand to resist
The evil powers at his side.
Without His total surrender,
Death’s grave would forever reside.
The cross was perceived as failure,
But it was victory instead.
For that was the world's perception
Of our Savior’s bloodshed.

Death, hell and the grave
Have been defeated for some time.
Although death persists,
The righteous find their Spring time.
Christ will soon come
To call them from their graves;
Take them home to heaven;
Where sin no more enslaves.

Defeated In Sleep

it follows that
     sharp slivers of time
warp like wild geese reflected
     across still water winging
faces sway'd as wheat seas
     pitied not by thresher's flail

rictus hidden in a camera's eye
fetus, elders left to die

teach and learn as life grows short
     moments gulped in forgotten days
sun rays down
     casting men without shadows
tragedies in bildungsroman
     of children innocent but heartless

folded parchment in dustbins hidden
blossoms thrive in ancient midden

justice, honor, paean to the gods
     distill down to cold control
foreign tongues with open hands
     empire's wall breached wide within
and so, with prosody quicksilver fled
small words swallowed by larger mien

I, deep sigh, with agon's leap
fall back defeated in dreamless sleep...

Not Quite Defeated

Bump in high school
LIfe cesspool?
Learning hazy
Mind crazy?
Dare not be fool!

Counsilor be
Hearts happy
Alive
Power to thrive
God's light through me

Defeated

Love has brought me streams of sorrows
It has kissed my heart with tears and pain
Life seems plagued with darker tomorrows
When everything of life and love is vain.

The distant skies comes crashing down
The dark numbing silence invades me
As sad the hues, from sacred hills crown
My head with a forlorn memory.

I toiled to draw comfort by the stream
That my days somehow may turn to peace
But hope does trap my thoughts in a dream
That maybe your love had never ceased.

I dread the days when smiles had vanished
When loneliness sung, its songs of despair
Your ways are cruel, my soul is thus tarnished
For loving you so much, my darling so dear.

Tender I lay in fields of hopelessness
And trained my tearful sorrows to obey
Though blindly I crawl in love's emptiness
In this gloom, I see the light of day.

Premium Member Be Gone Defeated Foe

I've read the book and it is so
That death is a defeated foe.

He lurks within the shadowland
Light being what he can not stand.

In the kingdom, where there's no night,
Death can't exist; for all is light.

Light your houses brightly and everywhere you go
Tell the vagrant, death, out loud " be gone defeated foe."

Love Defeated

Flame,
Passion,
Extinguished,
Love Defeated,
Hurt.

Under Caress of a Plush Plaid By Marina Tsvetaeva

My dream of yesterday I'm calling
under caress of a plush plaid,
What was that? And who won? Who's falling?
Who was defeated? What is bad?

I think again, I change my thinking,
Anew I feel the sweetest pain,
Say, was it love of just a winking,
I have no word for it again.

Who was the prey? Who was the hunter?
All is contrary, it is mad,
Siberian cat has got it under
that caress plaid.

Who, whose hand was the ball in
in our duel of self-win?
Oh, say, your heart or mine was rolling
and bouncing real.

So, do I want it, do I need it?
What did it show?
Say, did I win? Was I defeated?
I do not know.

Do You Feel Like You'Ve Been Defeated

Do you feel like you’re “worn out” and defeated?
Like nothing in your life has really been completed?

Do you feel like your life is going “downhill” fast.
And wonder how much long you’re “going to last?”

Do you feel like you’ve hit too
 many “bumps in the road.”
The weight upon your shoulders
 like a “heavy load.”

Do you feel like you just can’t take it anymore?
You may wonder if anything in
life is worth living for. ..

Do you want to hear some good news I have to bring?
I can tell you of someone who can
take care of everything!

Do you want to know of someone
who can change your life today?
His name is Jesus, and he can take
 all of your problems away!

Do you want to allow him to change
 your life throughout?
This is what the love of Jesus is really all about!

Do you want to experience the power of God within?
Knowing what it means to be forgiven and born again..

If this is what you want and what
 your heart wants to gain.
Simply reach out to Jesus and call
on his precious name…

He wants you to know
  and completely understand.
He ' s here right now and waits
with an outstretched hand…

He wants you to know…
 He really does love YOU.
Why not start today? And be made
 BRAND NEW!!!

In a state of confusion…little patience…without clarity
Empty of tranquility.
There I was…
But there I did not seek to be.
The guided path now lost within my world.

I was perplexed…bewildered…defeated.
Where was that amity of body, mind, and spirit?
Where was the needed breath of life
to infuse wholeness into my existence?

I sat alone.
In silence…
I waited.
Consumed by my condition.
Unable to call upon decipherability
so as to understand the complexity of my despair
and find solutions for my state.

So I surrendered
to the abyss of the unknown.

And then I felt it
the emergence of the unexplained
slowly…gently…mysteriously….
taking hold of my being
and soothing my sheared and shattered soul.

Defeated

Not bothering with his shrew
Chewing, slurping, lip smacking
He takes a deep breath
Chewing, slurping, lip smacking
She was grinning, happy as a kangaroo
She chews, “chump, chump, and chump”
Irritated like a shrew
He drew a deep breath
Pop, goes the sound
As if on queue
She smacks her lips Chewing on that gum
“chump, slurp, chump”
He fidgets, reminding himself
He stares, giving the little girl a glare
“Chump, chump, chump”
She chews, louder than before Glaring back, without a care
Eyebrow raised She blew a bubble
Pop, it spread on her face
She grabbed it and put it back in her mouth
“Chump, smack, slurp”
Pop, chump, smack, slurp
Was all he could hear boiling
“Chump, chump, chump”
He wishes to use glue
He is defeated by a two year old with a bubble gum
She starts to clap, while chewing
Hysterical by his reaction
She doubles over Laughing
Chewing, clapping, jumping and stumping

Premium Member He Lay Down Defeated By Lover

He was tough, he’d been raised to be big, fit and strong,
To hide any hurt, pain or fear.
He’d prepared for this fight, bottling his feelings,
Living an unemotional atmosphere.

Then the time had arrived, a fight till the end,
He had to win this fight at any price.
His opponent knocked on his door, ready to take him on,
By casually rolling the dice.

He swung to the left and glanced to the right,
Then an uppercut straight to the chin.
Then he kicked like a soldier, a seasoned marine,
And he thought he was going to win.

But his opponent was smart, and took all of his rage,
Took it with one boxing glove.
His opponent she won, so he lay down defeated,
Defeated by that emotion called love.
