Best Deceive Poems
sly looks can deceive
as you hold me with bright eyes
fooler in plain sight
Choosing betrayal
weight of deception and lies
burden best put down
The Mockingbird sings out his misleading best,
in hopes to attract a dupe with a nest,
where the squatter believes mate’s eggs should belong;
so mimics and jabbers uncountable songs.
Catbirds and Thrashers, related critters,
both grey North Americans sport throats of a twitter.
These gifted Warblers mock tricky bird tunes,
deceiving, deluding as feathered dragoons.
In fairness to balance the Tweeters’ intent,
creating, demanding a need to invent
a song to attract a new or lost mate:
so, a beacon to follow and commitment to state.
EXAMPLE MOCK SONGS
whistling, hey-hey yip pittie-yap
frog gurgle, snarf-chickie claw-saw
peep peeping piccolo-staccato bleat
sniftering chit-chat, yodel-do do
snerling, rat trap, blah tat-tat-tat
crunchy nasal chirp, coo-coo-coo
PROLOG.....
Love and deception: one must understand that love and Deception
are the two most meaningless words' in the dictionary if used in-
correctly. Love is indestructible and secure in itself. The latter is
lust rooted in deceit, yet, clothed in the name of love and has changed
its' attire through out the Centuries'. One has never done in the name of
love because love has only produced everlasting immortality in the wake
of utter damnation. Deceit has covered many of circumstance of war and
destroyed many a civilization.
I don't know why you feel you gotta lie
learn to be real - you ain't got to steal
just cause you say - it really ain't that way
doesn't make it so - well you outta know
you think your one up, it's just another come up
here is what you must know, you need a new hustle
cause you say it's not so - doesn't change the fact yo
you say it's not true - still, I don't like being lied too
you try to flip the script - you think you're well equipped
it won't change my mind, you're yelling all the time
chaos and stress unwind, clarity not far behind
the more that you scream, it was you, wasn't me
trying to pass the buck, confuse things what the f***
whatever you took, wasn't by the book
karma is a b**** she'll throw you a hitch
all will be returned - no lesson you have learned
you were unconcerned, you hurt the one you burned
I don't even know though, how far you would go
you seem real concerned - that trust you have to earn
you think that your owed, that just goes to show
you are deranged - my opinion will not change
you'll still be the same - a hustler you'll remain
without any game - you will always come up lame
but without any dame - that will ever take your name
it will all be in vain - if the lying doesn't change
R is for the repeated distortions of facts,
A for press articles written with hacks,
M for the emphasis placed on survival,
P for the piss taken out of your rival.
A for analogies that never convince,
N for false narratives making us wince,
T for traditional values cast-off
That cause umpteen scholars and clergy to scoff.
L is for lovers whom I dream of all night,
E for electric bills high as a kite,
T for temptations I can’t keep at bay,
H for Matt Hancock - please God stay away!
A is for the **** he fondled intensely,
R for resigning - we respect that immensely,
G is for the government of which he was part, and
Y for the yes-men aboard that rotting cart.
Do Not Ever Deceive Me
----------------------------------
I Won’t wish:
Beat in lonely a pretty boy.
Hit a dog, asleep in shade.
Stone a bird singing on tree.
Rob a blind beggar returning home.
Pull an insect’s legs
Climbing a slippery wall.
Raise a barrier ere an ant
Dragging a grain toward her hole.
I’ll fear the springs,
In summers I shall den;
Rejoice with the autumns,
Leaves falling of trees;
And be delighted with the harsh winters,
Lovers can not see.
I’ll taunt the sun’s routine rise
And call it mechanical,
And tell him hasten his set
In the July’s long-day evenings.
And abhor the stars-adorn calm sky;
And greet the gruesome gloomy nights
Which roar and light,
When stormy winds blow, and still doesn’t rain.
May then wilt the leaves of trees early!
May then wither the blooming roses!
I know we've been taught to believe
that it's wrong to willfully deceive.
But raw truth causes cutting pain,
and friendships are never the same.
If rumors about a friend are spoken
deny them, pay them not a token.
If you're asked to judge another,
bypass his flaws, be as his brother.
Nothing good flows from words stark
hide them, bury them in the dark.
I confess none of this is anything new,
only affirming what you already knew.
When you talk to me
My ears acts like sieve
My eyes know it all
My face can't stop smirking
Cause even your lies
Can't deceive me this time
I might be innocent back then
Letting me dance on your fingertips
But trust me
I have become way smarter than I was
I sink deep into the unhappiness of being the one who doesn't deceive you with sweet illusions,
I refuse to change who I am for anyone, even for the shadows that surround me.
I've detested how easily you allow yourself to be manipulated to accept everything you hear without question,
Have I not left a strong enough impression, or are you so easily deceived?
I've dug deep into the lies told, like hot tea that never cools,
I know myself, and that's what matters; it's a truth I carry within my soul.
I don't explain myself, because if you are the one meant for me, you would know me from my sigh and my gaze,
Was I wrong about you, or were you the one who was mistaken about me?
It's a dance between truth and illusions, a search for meaning in eyes that refuse to see,
I remain true to myself, navigating through the shadows of day and night, unwavering.
Wretched Creatures That Live To Deceive
Tis no wonder that some choose to just go
the bad ones certainly put on a real show.
They depend on those that just do not know
playing as if clean as wind driven snow!
No honor, lies and darkness in their game
doing just as they damn well will.
Nothing they do brings them any damn shame
getting by with dishonor, what a thrill.
Look about and see how sad some humans are
wretched creatures that live to deceive.
Their black souls just one large wicked scar
playing for any gain they can receive.
Sad that, such sad ,evil creatures win out.
They do because good people do not shout!
Robert J. Lindley, 09-26-2015
NOTE: I am quite sick of seeing rascals and liars win out
especially as they do so by mistreating others!
Clever in their dark deceit, ego's leading them by the nose.
Game players that truly win nothing with their lies and clever
plays.
I believed you
That you cared
But you didn't
All you wanted was my love
I was a fool
I believed your lies
That you could ever love me
And the worst part was, I loved you too
But all you did was hurt me
I came to you
For your wise words of help
But then you began
Questioning my love
You told me that I wasn't me
And that I needed help
You told me that I had to do whatever
To be my old normal happy self
But when I did what I had to
You told me you'd been betrayed
Now I question ever loving you
For your love, was just a pitiful game

1.
I never believed in magic
never did,
life is hard
that’s all it is
It’s tragic, but only to some
that try to imagine their kingdom come
the hidden rabbit breaths hard in the sleeve
with roses,
dead pedals
still we believe
in fairy and dust,
sneeze if you must
get out of the vacuum,
sweep up the lust
for what you deceive, those dreams that will come
you're starting a race refusing to run
at least in your mind, clouding the line
projecting
in transit
never define
what is this race?
Why did I go?
who is this face?
what do they know?
Feel the pin prick, cut in the skin
that is the truth! The place you begin!
2.
who gave you that innocent wand
I think you made it, and blamed it on...
Hope
dream
God
love
bright descending wing of the dove.
ignite the torch, hunt the witch
land a pole dig a ditch
but... beautiful
What beauty you breath
the magic you hold
the heart you deceive
the invisible hope soft in my side
the wizard of pain, boldly defied
Love
Peace
Innocent
need
you cozen the truth, I never believed.
betray my conviction, to die in the fight
dilute my addiction to think I am right
I never believed
but never knew
the magic I need
inside of you
but not really magic, I dressed it in greed
bluffing this tragic heart I deceive
for
Anger
bitter
hypocrisy
casting my spell refusing to cede
3.
I never believed in magic
never will,
life is hard
and willing to kill
it’s tragic, but only to some
refusing to see their kingdom come
You stopped humming and playing the guitar
I did not listen hard enough
You stopped smiling when you looked at me
I did not see well enough
You stopped holding me as tight
I did not feel hard enough
You stopped talking to me as much
I did not ask for you enough
You started to smell of cigarettes again
I did not inhale you enough
You stopped wanting to taste me
I did not entice you enough
You started making excuses to leave
And I made them for you too
Pretending that what my senses felt
was just, simply not true.
It happens to everyone/
All we want is a few/
To be called a true friend/
To show us that there's others out there/
Just like us, so we open ourselves/
To the job of finding true worthy people/
To surround ourselves with/
Only to be filled with lies and deceit/
Generation after generation/
Just keeps getting shadier/
To be blind and not see things/
So clearly, and fall for the same words/
Over and over again/
Just coming out of their mouths/
We try to be positive, shine like a star/
To attract everyone, to search and separate/
To find a few we are looking for/
Which turns into a life of struggles/
Either way we look/
We see doubt and second guessing/
Things we thought we fully understood/
To come and see the real light/
People come and go/
Some seem to use the friend word/
Easy enough, only to be proven wrong/
In the long and short run/
To be left alone/
Seeming like an.../
Outcast... Friendless/
