Premium Member Dasher and Dancer's Christmas Eve Call Offs

It was Christmas Eve night and Santa was in a pickle
when Dasher was caught giving Blitzen a quick tickle
He and Dancer had been seriously dating for a year
but his flirtatious ways had her crying tear after tear.

Worried, Rudolph told Santa she refused to fly tonight
if Dasher was going to be harnessed next to her in flight.
"Oh, dear," said Santa. Now, what am I supposed to do?"
Rudolph's nose was blinking as he said, "I haven't a clue."

The sled was already loaded down with presents and toys
waiting to be delivered to all the good little girls and boys.
Santa had a new reindeer waiting at his first stop in Britain,
a handsome one who winked at Dancer, and she was smitten.

Dasher, the disgruntled reindeer elk was not amused
Santa had sent three pathetic elves to round him up, confused.
He could have sent them all into never land, the home of the bean.
But he was a compliant guy, and they had never been mean

Dasher walked beside them, without comment, his steps thin.
Letting these three petite rascals think they were taking him in
When I fact he was bring them back to Santa’s village for safety.
Before Jack Frost’s winter weather came in as bitter as could be.

Dasher and Dancer yelled midair
and said to Santa, “We can't fly!
Earth satellites have made a snare
of wireless currents in the sky!”

Then Santa answered, “Use plan B-
come down one level in the sky.
Take care and watch! Don't hit a tree
or steeple top as we zoom by!”

So they both did as Santa said,
though still, they'd be a little late;
made headway now with deer and sled
where techno-waves had low-flow rate!

Premium Member Dasher Offers To Help Santa

Santa and Dasher had a quiet talk in the glen
They discussed the elf situation, and the presents so thin.
I do not have to get paid this year, Dasher admitted.
I have condos and townhouses, and my monies well fitted.

That would not be fair, Santa told his generous reindeer.
I could not accept such charity; though your intent is clear.
The other reindeer have investments and wealth plenty I bet.
We’ll donate our salaries to help you make all toys you can get.

The elves were on board, and said pay us in cookies, not money.
Mrs. Claus said “They are wanting to do this. Let’s let them, Honey.”
Santa had forgotten how wonderful the feeling of giving can be.
Finally, he said yes, giving a healthy thanks for their generosity.

Dasher and Dancer's Christmas Eve Call Offs

The reindeer were sleighing through the snow's glow,
Their journey smooth, with Christmas magic in tow.
But Cupid, Santa's reindeer, fell ill in the night's shade,
The journey stopped, and Santa's heart was dismayed.

Santa feared he'd miss Christmas, and children would fade,
But then he thought of their joy, and his heart was displayed.
He rallied his elves and reindeer, to find a solution's might,
Together, they worked tirelessly, to save Christmas's light.

With a new reindeer in place, the sleigh took to the sky's sail,
Santa delivered gifts on time, with a twinkle in his eye's veil.
The children's faces lit up, with joy and delight's ray,
A Christmas miracle, thanks to teamwork and Christmas's way.

The Night Dasher

The Dasher all dressed ready
Delivering snacks to the many
Leaving in the night
Serving those willing to pay the price

Hurrying through dinner and out the door
Hoping he can make some more
The streets are dark, the traffic light
As he dashes through the night

No doorbells, knocking or people to see
Just leave on the doorstep and text me
Tips are large, tips are small
Happy to get them all

Missing his bed, wife and dogs
He is out there giving to the cause
Driving from store to store
Running from door to door

This is definitely not a job for the weak
As you hardly get any sleep
Dash Away, Dash Away All
Dash Away, Dash Away to the next call

Songs By Nightstummers

                           They sing like Nightstrummers
I reminded her of how they could really sing
We often could listen to there voices
And hear the sincerity in their tones
                   perfection: they rehearsed and performed
                         Beautiful perfect tones, perfection
                               their voices and their songs

then one asked, " way-ward are these nights
                          when are the strummers strummed"
                              who shall sing their background
to highlight the words in the song
                                 where are they in standing
I favor to hear their words
                                    that others will wonder
                                      to what I've found
                                        Nightstrummed
                                         word for word

Santa, pacing before his top deer,
mopped his face with a red neckerchief
He'd stopped caribou conflicts all year
- but this wasn't your usual tiff

The decision to send them to school
had turned out to be one of his worst
because, unlike the previous Yule,
Dancer now knew HIS name should come first

But the lesson that got Dance the lead,
had taught Dasher a lesson in pride
and they fought until Santa decreed
they'd just pull the damn sleigh side by side!
