A Button Poem

Buttons for game pieces, buttons on totes,
Buttons on toys, shoes, sweaters and coats.

Buttons that open and buttons that close
On pockets and purses and edges of clothes.

Buttons that decorate; buttons that don’t.
Buttons I'm sure to lose; buttons I won’t.

Buttons as filler for bean bags and such.
Buttons collected are not used so much!

Buttons on greeting cards and on jewelry!
Thousands of buttons adorning a tree!

Buttons to reset , to turn on a light.
There’s “Cute as a button” and also as “bright“!

Button up (but not down); push them “hot” (but not cold);
“Button your lip” and do as your told!

Though buttons may vanish one day from earth,
We'll wear on our bellies - buttons since birth!

A New Life

A New Life

When a baby is born it's like a fresh spring day
Being a healthy one what all parents pray

The pain and struggle a mother indulges
With bigger breast and stomach that bulges

Cute as a button when they arrive
The kicking the moving...the feeling inside

Men are clueless of all the pain I'm sure
They have no clue what women endure

Seeing the little hands and the little people feet
The very first look is a mothers best treat

Cuddle the little one against her chest
Feeding with milk from mothers breast

Men take notice of your beautiful wife
Who just created a beautiful life

Hold them and hug them but not too tight
Close to you..the feeling is right

Hold the tiny hands..rub their tiny feet
Promise your love..your promise to keep

Mother and child...a beautiful sight
Not looking forward to the restless nights

A child being born is a feeling of spring
To create a new life is a wonderful thing.

Cute As A Button

Cute as a Button (for girls)

(Darla Mae Seely)

I look at your cute little nose
And how you wiggle your toes.
I love how you smile at me.
You're cute as a button, don't you agree?

I look at the darling clothes you wear
And the tiny bow in your hair.
You seem to say to me,
"I'm as cute as I can be."

You're cute as a button, yes, you are.
You were sent to earth from heaven afar.
I love you, niece/daughter/etc. I hope you know.
I will always tell you so.

THE UNREQUITED LOVE POEM

The unrequited love poem.....
Outside my window,
Elegant ferns and flowers,
Lost in the crowd,
My intangible man,
Cute as a button,
My love distance lover,
My listless lips ravishing,
One day he'll come to me...
Surprise!! Surprise!!
There's no one there,
No empirical evidence
For this adoration, O Muse....
My unrequited love poem.

Mousey

I love my Mousey,
She lives in a field in BrushCreek, Tennessee,
Walking with her her of cattle,
As happy as she will ever be.

Without this there would be only she,
And i could make her as happy as me,

I miss her immensly, for thee i wish well,
For everyday i wish she wont sell,
And I could show her in the Dekalb County Fair,
I would sell never an ounce of her.
Hehe not even one of her little white hairs.

Even when all the way over there,
Mine she is for no one but me to share, if I do so happen to dare.

Cute as a button,
A button her nose may well be,
Where I first touched her sweet little body,
Not once but twice sweetly,
For wherever she goes I could spot her, along with her sister and mother.

Many a mile away, for she is not at all,
Not at all what you would say a little grayish thing.

But a heifer who grows daily,
Only to shove the motherly tears away.
In my eyes though, she will always be, forever and always, my baby girl, my sweetie,
my beautiful girl, my Mousey

The unforgettable rant from a drunk Lady contest

It is five minutes to two
I don’t know what to do
It looks like I'm the last person this evening before you close
But can I have another, and possibly a minute to expose
You must get this often you’re really sweet
Cute as a button, to bad I don’t cheat
You see I am procrastinating to get back to my house
I live with a man; no he is not my spouse
Five long years, do you care that I share
Oh hun, watch out a flies in your hair
But seriously, it’s bad; we fight all the time
I haven’t the courage to tell him I am sick of his kind
Do you have a woman? oh you must you’re so cute
So what do you think should I give him the boot?
Oh and work is getting to me, my boss in always on my case
Sir what’s your name again? you have a mighty fine face
Can I get one more? that will be all
Good thing I live down the block in case I trip and fall
Can I give you some advice; you should finish your degree
You don’t belong here at this hour serving me
Last year I went away, when I got back I caught him cheating
I gave this guy one serious beating
Oh look it is raining
Am I complaining?
I know it’s time to move on
But it’s hard when someone is finally gone
Do you work every night?
Could you lower the lights?
I am getting a headache
Last night I went to a wake
It was my Coworkers sons, girlfriends, Aunt,
I am sorry did I just go on a rant?
What are you doing after work?
You must think I am a jerk
OH NO here come the tears!!!
Sir, it’s been so many painful years,
Why can’t I just leave him?
What is wrong with me?
can I get just one more, my glass is empty,
Wait, what are you doing?
Is that coffee I smell brewing?
Are you shutting the bar down?
I see no one is around in this town,
OH no I just dropped the glass on the ground
Boy!!! that made a really loud sound
Let me pick that up
I’ll buy you a new cup
That’s all I seem to do, clean and cook,
I deserve better right? I read it in Dr.Phil's new book,
Sir, where are you going?
Did you tell me your name?
OH I don’t feel well, can I puke in your drain?
Much better, oops sorry, I made a mess
This was a new dress,
Thanks for listening,
Did I tell you you’re cute?
I bet you make a tone of loot
My man has no job
and he wonders why I'm a bitter snob
Ok Im leaving, its late my new friend,
what did you say your name was again?
I want your number, Let me get a pen
Oh no my purse fell all over the floor
Sir Sir, did you just slam the door?

“I am not a sir, I am a Woman, and you need to Go the hell Home!!! ”

Trees and Dirt

Trees and dirt I sleep on the earth, the dust the sand, longing to birth.
Oil on skin, bare,
sweat on your back,
feels amazing.
Yes! Im back on track.
Sleeping cosy as a worm,
unencumbered by any material possession or fixed term.
Free to explore, a magical universe,
I must implore.
No home, no chores, no bills to pay.
Just water, food gathered and warmth today.
A dusty cave, cute as a button, no slamming door,
just love in your belly, to the very core.
I love this realm,
just need more time,
time to explore.
Trees and dirt I sleep on the earth, the dust, the sand, longing to birth.
And return once again to mother earth.

Happy Birthday Daughter

Happy birthday baby and my first born
Created by God for me to adorn
From the top of your head down to your tiny little toes
You were cute as a button as everyone knows
Seeing you all grown up, looking at what you've become
Is the sum total of many prayers and the blessings of some
You are wise for your years, this I can tell
By the decisions you make, you learn lessons well
You are tough and you're strong, please stay that way
You'll need this type of strength as your hope and stay
You are self motivated, self reliant and a self starter, too
You complete whatever you start when you do what you do
You are straight forward, mean exactly what you say
There is o confusion ever, you are clear that way
You are loving and kiknd, always giving your best
You can be depended on, relied upon, there's no test
Respectful and obedient you've always been
Loving you is a pleasure, a sure nough win
I love you dear daughter from the depts of my heart
Letting you know how I feel is just a start
I thank God for His precious gift 31 years ago
I'll cary you with me no matter where I go

Mylah Rose

My sister had her baby, just the other day.
She had her on the twenty seventh of May.

She has alot of hair, just like her dad.
She had the hiccups, that made her mad.

Her cheeks are soft, and chubby.
Her limbs are short, and stubby.

She has her daddys eyes, and her mothers nose.
Cute as a button, and they named her Mylah Rose.

TEA CUP PUP

A pup that’s in a cup
A cup that’s under a pup
A pup that’s as cute as a button
All of the sudden
The pup is cuddling
With all the loving
There is no ruffling
For the fluffy puppy
That cute tea cup pup
Is what’s up?

Firecracker

Small of frame, cute as a button, and brave as a miniature tin soldier.
In comparing characteristics between you and your sisters, throughout the years
and your experiences, you were or became the bolder.
Facing bully trashed mouthed giants shocked all of us.
For, there was no violence.
Including the bully himself was shocked into silence.
Stature like a tater tot and confidence piled high like a pancake stacker.
I loved you great auntie, my adorable and gutsy firecracker.

Sweet Erika

Sweet Erika I miss not seeing you,
as often as I use to.

I may not tell you how much
I love you, like I use to.

You are my only Grand Daughter
and you are so special to me.

You are still cute as a button,
I am amazed with how grown up you are.

In a few short years you will become
a young woman, I may not live to see it.

Knowing that whatever you decide
to become, success will surely follow.

I want you to know, how proud I am
to be your Grandfather.

My Annie Dedicated for the Belief of My Adoptive Mom and Dad

. .. ... .. . . . Funny as I remember now - I went out to the animal shelter to-rescue my little Annie one day- some time not to long ago; and-from outside, on my way in I saw her - and as I walked-in and looked-around, I asked-to-God, "What-kind of- day is it going to be-for me-today?" and then in that moment, I saw her again, and she was cute, as a button-a very fun and-smashing, playful; innocent-young-lady, this tender little girl - and I new I was going to bring-a new light, into her tired-and-lonely and- vacant, quiet-little-world - and as I heard this-shy yet eager, raspy-little-meow-from behind this-pen she-was-sitting in - I walked over to have a look see; and there she was looking up at me - "My little kitten Annie!" - with-twinkling and starry-eyes and a warmness-and-passion for-life I could-have-never-imagined - (nor have-ever; ignored) and so I reached-down-and picked-up... the-kindnesses-of my- soul - and the-simple touch-on my-skin of her-warm fur, was of- the sensation of the purest beauty, I had never-known, and as she placed-her cool-nose and a soft-little paw... on the-lips of my-face - we looked at each-other... a quiet-while with such an-intense - and simple-feeling - you know that feeling-you-have when to get-to-hold the one-thing you have long-for so-long... to hold - finally you know you-couldn't have asked for more. So-yes-it's funny-to me; what God brings to the weary soul, a love- and-loss so-unique and precious; opportunistic... . Always I'm coming to find-offered to everyone; given to all as-its-own-equal... ! It's been some years and-sadly, gone-from-me-now she-is... but I know as my- heart is-hers and-hers mine I know-we'll-never be-apart... ! I had a little kitten-named-Annie one day some time-ago, and oh how I loved to hold her, because she rescued me from my tired-and-lonely; vacant; quiet-little-world. Author Notes Inspire by the greatest of all the plays I have ever seen, and as I was an orphan myself early on in my years - and was as well adopted - I went to see it five times in three years as a child. My new parents took me without recourse or woe-yes, the play-well of course, it was little orphan "Annie!" Hyphens used in conjunction with one another for recording purposes for the disabled. Songs I give for my Mom and Dad. Thank you both so much, truly I feel I can never thank you enough! Love Jamie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBZACUxTFLU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nnjkb4q6FKU

Got My Love To Keep Me Warm

The winter winds are blowing Temperatures are in the minus range No need to get in a flap about it As long as love's holding the reins It's just like spring all year round When you're with that special someone The one you think about 24/7 Who you think is cute as a button Love sweet love has always been At top of every human emotion I defy anyone to name me another That compares with true devotion An old dude now but once a young'un In the prime of life back then Love was number one, my brain was filled With images of twists and bends Love never turned out quite that amazing In all the many years since But oh it was still an amazing journey A lucky one, I'm convinced © Jack Ellison 2014

Cornpoke Pete

Fields and fields of corn on the cob
As far as the eye can see
Sweet little niblets of yellow perfection
Tempting little old me

Must admit to this addiction of mine
Coz hiding it makes no sense
My skin's taken on a bright yellow hue
“Corny” jokes I always dispense

For breakfast, lunch and even dinner
It's corn, and corn, and more corn
Thinking of joining “Niblets Anonymous”
Been addicted since I was born

Cute as a button sitting in my highchair
Corn mush all over my face
No telling if I was animal or vegetable
You couldn't even tell my race

Mom cleaned me up and there I was
As sweet as I could be
Mom called me her “Little Corn Niblet”
To my friends, I was “Cornpoke Pete”!

I'm Rich

When you look at me,
What do you see?
A woman who’s made,
Wonderfully.
I may not be paid,
In tokens but certainly,
Is royalty.
A gift of the almighty,
To share with the world,
God’s promise.
One who has been,
Through the storms.
Who has been,
Outright mistreated,
Called phrases,
That one will never see,
In the Bible.
Beautiful as can be,
Cute as a button,
Outfits that look as they,
Come from designers racks.
Hair flying in the wind,
Floating in her Old SUV,
As if I were in a Cadillac,
With a smile on my face.
Laughing hilariously.
Complimenting you clothing,
And your abilities.
I have problems,
 Just like you.
But like the song states,
I come 100 percent real,
With everything I do.
I make things happen,
Every time I come through.
Not showing a worry,
What about others do or say.
Cuz’ I’m gonna make it,
Anyway.
Don’t care about you,
Because my Father
Takes care of everything,
When I get home.
We have a close relationship.
Constantly praying,
Praising the Father,
For everything,
He has given me,
Good and bad,
For all of the
Gifts and talents,
That are intensified,
As a result of hard trials.
God is the key to open,
Every door of my destiny.
So when you look at me,
You see someone,
Who is wealthy,
Who gains,
From a source,
That will never run out.
I’m rich
Indeed as precious,
As any mineral
From any ore.

What Little Girls are Made Of

Little girls are cute as a button,
Little boys aren’t worth notin’
Little girls are as smart as a fox,
Little boys can’t find their way out of a cardboard box,
Little girls are hard to understand,
Little boys sometimes you just can’t stand,
Little girls smell like sweet tarts,
Little boys smell like dyno-farts.

Sexual Abuse

You fill his hands on you.
Rubbing up and down.
You fill his breath closing in.
Toughing your body over again.
He removes your clothes and layes you on the floor.
You can fill him on you getting closer.
He thrust him self in you.
You try not to scream.
You close your eyes and almost cry.
You try to fight ut but he's to strong.
So you just lay there.
10 minutes later.
He lets you go but you cant move.
You finally get up and run home.
9 months of torcher.
9 months of pain.
9 months crushal and he finally came.
A little boy cute as a button but reminds you of a tareble thing.

To my son

To my little boy, This poem’s for you. It was March 17th , That you made your debut. Cute as a button, I wrapped you up tight, And then mommy held you, From morning till night. As I watch you grow, You surprise me each day. You fill me with joy, As you laugh and you play. No matter what happens, I want you to know, I will always love you Wherever you go.

Macy Elaine

My favorite cousin of all time,
And the best friend I could ask for.
Cute as a button,
You never make our friendship a bore.

Everyone might be out to get you,
Least of all, I’ll be here.
And everyone doesn’t just choose,
I realize that our family is dear.
No one understands how much you mean,
Even though we keep it clean.
