Chocolate Indulgences (20150129)

If I really had no choice but to divulge,
In mountains of chocolate I would indulge.
I'm not just taking about Snickers,
Reese's peanut butter cups, Butterfingers,
Or other grocery store sweeties.
I'm talking about the expensive stuff, most from oversea:
Fruit and nut bars from British Cadbury,
Milk molasses chips from local Mrs. See's,
Fudge Easter Eggs from domestic Helen Grace,
Belgian praline Sea Shells from Leonidas,
Belgian Cote D'Or bouche pralines,
And from Germany's Ritter Sport--EVERYTHING!
Wallowing in glorious chocolate, I'd be so pathetic,
If not for the fact, that I'm a diabetic.

You, who forever will be so much bigger than just me,
Now our word 'Bigger' seems to beggar human greatest minds!
If YOU seemed just a star? (that man can hardly see) reminds
Of new GALACTIC form, where galaxies, not stars, the norm!
Your infinite dimensions shield us though from what intentions yield.

No human eye sees all! How grok your depths since we so small?
INFINITY that small infinities may hope to be when grown,
And yet somehow You show your care and listen to our moan,
We might by Grace enjoin your will; our praises have some value still,
Our egos serve (without our guile) most days to make our Father smile!

Poet's Notes:
(1) Translation: "Thy Will Be Done!"
'Brackets' in the title mean non-capital letters should get used. A 'Parenthesis' in the title means that a mirror image 'of a letter shown' gets used in the "Twi" language. Thus, may you get a picture of the written word.

Borrowed from Wikipedia: Twi (pronounced [t??i], or Akan Kasa) is a dialect of the Akan language spoken in southern and central Ghana by about 6–9 million Ashanti people as a first and second language. Twi is a common name for two former literary dialects of the Akan language; Asante (Ashanti) and Akuapem, which are mutually understandable. There are about 9 million Twi speakers, mainly originating from the Ashanti Region and about a total of 17–18 million Ghanaians as either first or second languages. Akuapem Twi was the first Akan dialect to be used for Bible translation and became the prestige dialect as a result. The Southeastern people of Cote D'Ivoire also speak it.

Oh sweet, sweet anonymity
Through the pressing crowds you’re calling me
Along the streets in city parks
Your presence waits by day or dark.
Just as the judge is passing law
As in so many times before
On parking offence or minor crime
On occasion a case that makes a national headline
The same hand takes the tea maid’s cup
Or swings a club on the Sunday golf match
As famous singers walk the stage
Of what matter is its matter made?
Plywood sheet or glass laminate
The "greatest moments" are a blip
On lifetimes stage where fortune sits
As greater life is lived unsung
Of no recorded note or age
A bar to life’s great tearing pace.
Yes,, somewhere waits for you and me
That sweet sweet anonymity.
A girl with hair like golden down
Is smiling in a country town
Her eyes are soft, her spirit strong
She knows truth, love and easy songs.
She makes up a house where people meet
And lives are crossed so bitter sweet
From kindergarten to university
She sees continuity
And containment of the life she loves
White picket fence and a cote of turtle doves.

Cambodian Cote D'Azur

“Cambodia is
Cambodia but not really
Cambodia.”
That’s what some say
As the years roll on
Forty years or so since Pol Pot and his pals posted
‘Year 0”,
Sent the whole thing to the wash,
 And it came out
Red.

So now I recline on
 Sun built beaches
Night into Day
Sandwiched between gaggles of
 I-pod armed youth
Just escaped from a
Lifelong sentence,
At least for a summer,
Dazzling at spectacle like
Fire girls twirling Prometheus though
 Black holes in moonlit nights
Starless
Sipping
50 cent beer
While the unmistakable drift of
 Marijuana
And Xanadu
Sifts my senses into
 Now.

While on the hill
 There lies a Frenchman,
Freshly stabbed,
 Epee-like
By a speed crazed barmaid
On a pockmarked lane where
Money meets desire
In the still born heat
Of an Asian night
Falling.

.

Which makes me reconnoiter
 Deadwood and Dodge
Earp and James
When law went desperate
Beneath a hangman’s noose
And the certain pall
Of afternoon death lay
Reeling
In the century or so since
The requiem.

But can this be their
 Cote d’Azur as
 Newly dubbed Khmer warriors like
 Sable Palms
 Surge skywards beside the
Sensual rhythm of
Casuarina trees
Purging the past to conjure
 Bygone glory a
Millennium or so ago
At a place just up the road named
 Angkor Wat
Soon to be renamed
Disneyland Cambodia?

mon ame et mon corps me brillent

Mon coeur me lache, la vie me blesse, me deteste et m'humiliee
ca me chauffe sans arret

ca me chauffe, ca me fait mal

Ross Wilson

Ross holidayed as a kid once at Center Parcs,
Where he first played the sport of table tennis,
And he loved it so much ‘cos he was so good,
That a member of staff remarked on his ability.

He was successful, ranking in the world top ten,
But later, in 2011 he was genetically diagnosed,
With multiple epiphyseal dysplasia of the bones,
And was glad to be welcome in disability sport.

He was the youngest table tennis team member,
At the London Paralympics where he came fourth,
In the singles, so he did well considering his age,
‘Cos his inexperience didn't hinder or scare him.

In the team contests at these joyous 2012 Games,
Ross and Aaron McKibbin won the bronze medal,
Which ranked him as No. 2 on the worldwide scale,
But he then got a shoulder injury which he nursed.

2014 and Ross took the gold in the International,
At the Cote d’Azur, so 2015 saw him take silvers,
In Hungary and Italy, but then he was injured again,
In his knee, elbow and he strained back muscles.

However, at the Lignano Master Open in Italy, 2016,
Ross won with teammates a bronze, so in Rio grand,
He took another bronze with the team. He’s a fighter,
Born on 5th June 1995 in Minster and trains Sheffield.

Ashley Facey-Thompson

Ashley best describes himself as,
Cheeky, funny and also happy as,
He’s a student at South Bank Uni,
Of sports coaching in London city.

He is a very keen table tennis player,
Started playing in primary, 7th year,
And just missed out on London 2012,
But was at Rio 2016 with his helve.

2013 and Ashley won many bronzes:
Italy, Hungary and had Czech ounces;
So in 2014 Ashley won UK nationally,
In class 8-9 singles, phenomenally.

Then breakthrough: Slovenian Open.
In the team event, you’re no token,
And at the Cote d’Azur International,
Ashley won 2 bronzes medals brutal.

In 2015 he won in the team events,
Had Italian, HU, CZ and DE tents,
And in Denmark reached the quarters,
At the European Champs, garters.

In Copa, Costa Rica, in the singles,
He took silver in swift class 9 jingles,
And in Rio made the quarters, team,
With K Daybell. He’s Erbs palsy lean.

Kim Daybell

“Anything can be achieved if you set your mind to it.”
Kim was born with the rare disease Poland’s syndrome,
Which means that he has abnormal or missing muscles,
On the left side of his chest wall, but surgery did tone.

A student of Medicine and Surgery at Leeds University,
He was a proud junior, the Under-13 level World No. 2,
In the sport of table tennis, ‘cos it's speed and closeness,
Instantly excited him when he tried it at nine, it had hue.

He made his international debut in 2008 at age sixteen,
And won lots of gold medals, came fourth at the Euros,
In 2011, which took him onto the London Paralympics,
Which are set in him as his epic, life-changing clothes.

So at the Slovenia Open in 2013, Kim won the bronze,
And then at the European Championships in the singles,
He made the quarter finals, but then at the Belgian Open,
He took the gold in the class 10 of the singles with ingles.

2014 saw him win a silver at the Slovenian Open again,
And then when he travelled to the Cote d’Azur to compete,
In their International, Kim consolidated his choice talent,
By stylishly taking the gold in the singles, a victory sweet.

Kim took a year off his studies in 2015 to prepare for Rio,
And in 2016 at Italy’s Lignano Master Open, determiner,
He secured a bronze in the singles, so Rio was certain,
There he reached the singles, team quarters: a winner.

Rest

There was a little girl in a coat.
Singing in a lonely boat
A bird was attracted to her bread,
And the girl smiled and said,
"I shall build you a little cote."

Love On the Beach

Sur la plage in France,
I thought I'd found romance,
My olive skinned beauty with cascading hair,
Smiling so sweetly, I tried not to stare,
Her body was bare but for a peach thong,
I was there naked, she saw nothing wrong,
We spoke in a broken half-French, word by word,
But thoughts unspoken were louder still heard,
I said 'I'm Nick' and she said 'I'm Celeste',
Oh Celeste, as you rubbed sun oil onto my chest,
Your eyes they were burning, they encaptured me,
More sparkling, more blue, than the Cote D'Azur sea,
I longed for your neck to feel my kisses sweet,
So I looked at you not as I massaged your feet,
Our chaste romance ended before it began,
Your boyfriend returned and I cowardly ran.

Ain'T You Demure

Ain't You Demure....Challenge

She rode in on a buckskin mare,
Tied up at Cote D'Zur
She sat down by a young cowboy -
He said "Ain't you demure."

She said,"My husband says 'lissome'-
And I prefer that tone."
He said," You're prob'ly cenosure,
But now you're all alone."

"I know you're tryin' for glamour -
You was an ingenue -
But there ain't no panacea
Just say what you can say."

Well, this went on for 'bout an hour -
Could be sempiternal.
The buckskin mare was gettin' bored
The heat was infernal.

The lather on the horses coat
Changed the buckskin's tone
It was downright chatoyant
As if some rare gemstone

And just then the husband walked in
As angry as he looked
What he did was ineffable
That cowboy's goose was cooked.

Well, she cooed and purred to calm him down
And whispered in his ear.
Her voice was downright mellifluous,
"Please let's get out of here."

The Silent One's Challenge

The Erudite and the Bible

The erudite and the Bible

And then it was Friday and I had tried to keep my promise
of writing no more, as it is a waste of time, there are so
many other interesting things to do, to be member of a literary
group, have interesting talk about this and that drink cheap red
wine and walk home hammered. It was sad to see how much
Christopher Hitchens deteriorated when whisky took hold
And he and he preferred to talk about religion which is and easy
subject since everyone like to mock religion these days.
But we should respect those ones fearful who need a stern God .
From early childhood I thought the bible as a fairytale book with
Bad kings, brutal soldiers a few good guys who tried to do good.
I liked to read about Jesus but didn’t believe in his resurrection,
I think him and Maria Magdalene, with help of friends, sailed to
Cote Azure where she became a seamstress and he a carpenter
Who delighted the children with his tale? But he never said he was
Son of God, he had promised Maria to stay clear of that subject.
The Jews use the Old Testament and the Muslims the Koran, that
is ok, I only wish they would tone down the language a bit, make their
bible more like the Brother Grimm’s fairytales

Decisions Part 2

je n'ai pas choisi mon nom
ma couleur ou ma religion
je n'ai pas choisi le liban
ni d'etre arriver dans ce temps
cependant mes amis
quand tu voudras me parler
tu n'aura qu'a me contacter
