Best Conversations Poems
He told me to write a poem
About beauty, wind blowing
Hair tossing , dream making stunning
Gorgeousness of living
Beauty addicts and blind ambitions
Movie stars and historical happenings
Formal dresses, women in high heels with
Faces meant to smile
That’s what poems should be about, he says,
Your good at that kind of thing, just spit it out
“Shawty, write a poem about beauty, that’s real poetry”
“Everything is beautiful, baby…”
“But what is beautiful to you?”
Beautiful.
Births and rebirths
Phoenix Red celestial torching of the hearts
Interlocking fingers in twilight
Kisses, Death, sorrow, crocodile tears
Laughter, Ecstasy , black
White, brown, yellow, silver crimson
Skin on skin, chest to chest, on and on, soft
Hard City light heaving, breathing against the Ebony sky
Natural Twinkle of diamond shadows,
Cosmos, Atoms, Hydrogen bonds, Electrons
Nucleus, matter, anti-matter
Smash together, slither mutually
To create harmony.
Everything.
Everything is beautiful.
“Just write about that then..”
"Not everything has to be written, somtimes you just have to
live it out.."
"What's the point then?? What's the point of writing about butterflies
and waterfalls? I just don't see it? Why do you have to doll everything up and
make it more then what it is? Not everything has to be picked apart and analyzed."
"Mmm, I suppose."
"What's real poetry to you?"
"Everything..."
"I don't understand."
I recline and rest my head on his chest
Tracing lines of thought on the ceiling
Helping him dismantle the universe and put it back together
In his own way
Enjoying lyrical symphonies of life
Breath by breath…
Together
Silent
"This, baby, This is real Poetry.."

New day, the same circle conversation!
I slow speak my felt truths,
You stumble-spin lame accusations
And another valid topic will thrash itself mute.
We should just get a tape recorder.
Instead of arguing, we’ll just play that
And save emotional voices the bother.
You may not know what happens next,
But I know, I have memorized the steps:
Your chin will raise as your fists flex and
You’ll accuse me of thinking I’m perfect;
I’ll give up on your ability to reflect,
Execute stern hushing for my quiet effect
And we’ll live stiff with no sign of upset.
Stormy emotions from this current singe
May taint our bond with their imprint,
But our love violins aren’t in quit’s bin.
Our imperfect love remains heart-hinged.
We know when this new circle conversation ends,
I’ll be a silenced pinch, you’ll do a pouting binge,
Until need finds us easing for embrace again.
Long walks and innocent talks
the fire in her eyes felt warm
First time kisses leaping
with secrets held back inside
Silence ripped her tongue
as white nights turned to run
Long lost lyrics played down under
stolen from artistic walls
momentarily her hesitancy stalled
tell this girl all
In solitude her black plague pled
another cancerous cell was dead
Brought my daughter to physical therapy appointment
She is filling out three long pages of paper work – front and back
I am listening to other people’s conversations
Learning about strangers keeps me in writing material
My ears are as high as an alert rabbit as I listen to others
I keep my head down, pretending I am not writing down their words.
We are all headed in the same direction.
We are all travelers.
Why then, with this one way ticket,
must we detour?
Why do we lose focus
of what is really important
and concern ourselves with the
price or color or size of someone else’s ticket?
Why not enjoy the ride.
Who knows if the next stop is yours?
"Strange Conversations"
Fire come walk with me
so I went walking into
the desolate desert
alone, with Him
but not alone,
the desert has
invisible watchmen
we are never entirely alone.
Silence becomes you
and you speaking
in strange tongues
share strange conversations.
What’s gone before
is done. What is "Now",
is some strange freedom.
What is to come,
who knows what hour
what day, that realisation
in communion, so you
write it all down
to establish 3 parts
like musical notes
in the complex
infusion
waiting to be opened
press any key
to continue

Easter. 2023.
There's a fresh new scratch
on my leather chair.
It isn't the first,
so why do I care.
I see there's a moth
flying 'round my head.
Since you scratched the chair,
that moth should be dead.
Bugs and insects,
that's your chore.
With what your food costs,
I should expect more.
When the kids were five
they picked up their toys,
went to bed on time
and without any noise.
You, fuzzy face,
have toys everywhere
and all of the furniture's
covered with hair.
You sleep and sleep
'til its time for bed
then you want to play
or meow instead.
My kids say
you're the spoiled child
and it's my fault.
my discipline's grown mild.
I wonder sometimes
why I put up with you.
You are a rascal
through and through.
You run me ragged
and that's for sure
and to get your way
you just start to purr.
Teach me how to cry
So that when it hurts I may be able to untangle what pain lies between the angles of my arteries
I want to excrete what is obsolete
To pave way for the exit of that which makes me incomplete
I want,
To never hold on to what could have been
Or what I imagine with crippling confusion may somehow... become
Rid me - of inexplicable intrusion
The kind where I can not comprehend
how a piece of entice consumes my insides only for it to shrivel up and die before my inner eye coincides with my mind to make sense of why the though of it was so intense
Give me the wisdom to reject pretence
Let all that is not meant to be leave me
Fill me with the kind of something it takes to embrace what is real, even when my perfectly constructed fantasies are hot on its heals
Give me strength
To no longer just inhale to survive
Teach me how to breathe so that I may find release on those days when even a sigh is out of reach
Share with me what women were given to thrive on those days when the heaviest clouds burdened skies and it seemed,
That even heaven had fallen deaf to her desperate pleas for a little bit of sunshine
Hand me, my generous dose of what its take to make women smile on those days when the knives in their chests pierced the very place where they're faith was set to emerge
Where, the pain was so fierce that each time they heaved they're bitter tears were met with a lukewarm sorry at best
And when my heart is left in pieces
Guide my soul to where His peace is
I pray for my dreams to never shut their eyes or hide
I pray that nothing ever beats me cos I never tried
I pray that I find truth where reality lies
That I may learn to sift through the dirt and discover, what little bit of bliss is mine
Tell them I did it
Tell them when possibility was no longer revered I was the one who pushed beyond fear
Tell them that I will dream until the oceans reject the streams
Tell them I did it
Tell them I dreamed
If my bare feet could talk
I wonder what they'd say?
If we are in church
I wonder if they pray?
The miles they have carried me
the journey we have made.
They are my source of transportation
each and every day.
Some days they yell at me
"Pay attention to my beauty"
Then off to get a pedicure
So they may resume their duty.
I know they listen in
on all my conversations
If only they speak
Help me with foundations.
I owe so much to
my little toes
When I was a gymnast
I put them through such woes.
It summer now so they
need to breathe
they can shop with me
and pick out what they need.
It's time for something girlie
my cowboy boots wear them down.
who knows what this season brings
time for happy happy clowns.
Barefoot in the sand
Is what they need the most
Absorbing the heat
So they can start to glow.
So my twins
that support me everyday
I just want you to know
You fill me with Dismay!
I was talking to my female friend the other night around 11 and she asked me
Her: Can I ask you something
Me: Yeah,wassup
Her: So why don't you have a girlfriend
Me: Cause I'm crazy about skateboarding and I will always put skateboarding before any and everything even my own Heath if I can move my legs I can skate and most of the time the female make me try and choose thinking imma pick them but I'm never going to do that cause I love skateboarding way too much like this board has brought me through so many lonely nights I would hold my skateboard when I could hold nothing or get someone to hold me my skateboard always had my back when no one did my skateboard thought me anger is not the key to life my skateboard has thought me no matter how many times I fall I can always get back up and try again my skateboard is my girlfriend my wife my best friend my everything females be a side chick when it comes to my skate board you asked and got an honest answer
Her:Oh
In my head in thinking : I just told you why I love skateboarding so What if it was long and a little boring I gave you my heart and you ignored it with two simple letters "oh" I promise I will never tell my true feelings to another soul can humans don't care so I'll travel in space for a few hours and see if I can find the perfect girl their long or short hair I don't care I want my soul mate and I can't find her in this ash tray so I ash the thought away now I'm looking like a dragon with smoking coming from my face when I'm done with this imma go skate I need this personal time with my bae one day I'll teach my girlfriend friend how to skate so we can roll around town one chill Sumer day when it's not to hot to so my shawty won't get baked but when we get back home and we're both going to get zoned I just some to help me no think of my own
I suck at sobriety,
Even though life hasn't been that hard on me?
What excuse do I have
When I have all this support?
I'm powerless,
Been that way since 16.
There's been times that I thought that I'd changed,
Then the old me returns to turn up the heat.
I'm not a lost soul,
But I'm well on my way at this rate.
I can't seem to get ahead of my demons
Because I had no faith.
I fear myself,
My lack of self control when I'm the author of my fate.
You think the worst,
Expect the best,
Awfully high hopes for having no hope.
con't ---->
You... and me were just a tease
Feel like I'm playing a putter from the black tees,
It used to be easy, like hitting off a tee...
Lust not love, we were deceived
That & my middle name is dishonesty
Truth, name a price, I'll pay any fee
Priceless, should've taken responsibility
Oh well... This pen is free therapy
A Bic scalpel, this is consciousness surgery...
An impatient patient seeking liberation...
No cerebral vacations, never ending self-examination
Do I give to give or with expectation of reciprocation?
Do I learn to understand or to show my education?
Do I talk with intent or in hope of validation?
Do I like what I like or do I seek confirmation?
Am I in it for immediate gratification or the duration?
Do I listen to hear or just idle til my turn in the conversation?
My life's 100% improvisation
Z.D.A, that's my abbreviation,
Study these lines, take notations,
I'm not real, just a hallucination...
*****************************
What if reality was a dream? And dreams were reality?
It ain't as strange as it seems...
A single consciousness stream...
I was blind but now I still can't see...
Yeah... I was blind but now I still can't see...
........... Will I ever be able to see?
Silent Conversations
The wind is up today
Coastal clouds
Playing tag with dust devils
On the shimmering bent mirages
Wavering their uncertainty of heat
Where the sea rolls its ice cream caps
Cool in the blue hinted sweeps of grey
In the chill air con bar
We sat upon empty stools
The languid condensations of beer
Trickling their refreshments
Of cool back of the throat smiles
I hold converse with the vacant air
While every demoralised seat
Longs to have you safely ensconced
And listen to silent conversations
But they watch instead my empty stare
The wind is up today
Carrying beach kites dancing in acrobat wheels
While unstrung gulls rock unsteady
On the gusts of southern Sarah
And the dust devils dance their own display
Of hot dry air
The gold lustre slowly sipped
With the curling tongs of cigarettes
And the deep dark amber of ancient teak
Thinks of auburn caught in a giggle
Rests upon my elbows
With unsteady poise
The wind is up today
Sneaking through niches and humming to itself
A song that I wish would carry her voice
And the dust devils tweak and twirl at the sky
But not with any dance of mine
I sit and hold silent conversations
With pillaged and abandoned chairs
HELLO BRAIN
Brain, o dear darling overworked brain,
Slow down, why are you trying to drain
Me, that grey mass of matter that i need,
Three hundred and sixty-five days, indeed,
A full year, so don’t send me into overdrive,
I have only one life to live and want to survive.
Do you think you can teach me to relax,
No, i am not working out what i owe in tax,
That will stress me, what did you say,
That i cannot repeat, have you no morals,
I cross no boundaries and nor should you,
Cheering me up you are not doing,
In fact, you have made my mood so blue.
You think, I think that world politics are crazy,
Well, they are, not like a walk in the park,
Or pulling up a daisy,
Takes just one madman to bring our planet
To its knees,
No more life on earth, no humans or animals
Insects, oceans mountains plants or trees.
Brain can you imagine, just total devastation,
Stop me thinking like this, for I am afraid,
I’m not bold, forward, or brazen.
HI THERE,
I am always what you wish me to be,
For it is your mind your brain, don’t you see,
I am just the voice in your brain, i interpret
All that you think, i am simply a portrait
Of you, what your innermost thoughts are,
And they do reach the sublime, and rather far,
You want to do away with the Russian president,
Good luck with that, as easy as a cat in a hat,
And that is no easy feat,
And i won’t allow you this crazy indulgent treat,
For i happen to love you and the way you think,
Even if you want to bring us to the brink
Of war, and i am so proud when
You get poem of the day,
It is your grey matter that earns you this,
And i seal this with a kiss.
I wouldn’t want to be in anyone else’s head,
As a brain, some have little, that i would dread.
If i am suggestive, I am sorry, but you control me,
So, i am neutral, I am neither he, or a she,
But at the end of the day
Whatever you think or say
Is what your brain decides to be,
The sum-total of you and me.
I am strong today
I can look Life in the face
when she asks
What do you want of me?
and say
I don't exactly know;
I am searching, strong, and free!
Life leans back, she laughs;
Her green eyes glow
and she says to me
The search is long
the strong grow weak;
The unloved and unloving are the free!
And the mother in my head says told you so!
