Premium Member Merlin the Magic Cat

Merlin the cranky cat
sat around getting fat.
Wanting to be heard
he mewed and purred.

He yowled and howled
and even growled
all with the same result.
He felt it quite the insult.

He snarled and hissed
What had he missed?
He tried a mewl
and lost his cool.

Short of a caterwaul
what should he call?
A tiny squeak perhaps?
Were they taking naps?

Chirrups and chirps
brought no alerts.
His tail-raising trills
brought no thrills.

He wanted dinner now.
He raised a loud MEOW!
Using the magic word
he finally was heard!

Merlin became the Magic Cat
in his tuxedo and top hat.
The other cats took their cue.
“Meow” meant “Please and thank you!”

The moral is if dinner you choose,
learn to mind your Ps and Mews!

"communicate By Statement"

with a quick look of an eyes, we point and convey
just as the tilt, juster a hey someone is over there, now look this way
to a suitably and noticeably hand, that gives a, come hither wave

waiting, wanting folding arm that wrap with warm embrace
saying hello
how are you?
did you know?
you mean, more to me than words could say

now in making a small and respectable repeatable whimper
to push with love and comforter
to a mental and complaining member
of your composing mathematically eye dropping
friends and family, till concern is not needed
till friendship fills the air and meets with laugh's in hand

now way good by
now look away
and clear you voice and mind
its time to start a brand new day

and may divine goodness be our defined enlightened lover
that touch our hearts and minds always...

Premium Member Our Domain To Rule Over

we often lie about
what we're thinking

deny deny deny
unwilling to divulge
our private thoughts
our inner secrets

not wanting
to be violated

our thoughts are ours
flawed and broken
right or wrong
as they may be

they're ours
and no one else's

we'll share
to a degree
but only when safe
is how we feel

resounding echoes in
caves of timelessness
my hands caressing walls of rock
never kissed by daylight
walls that speak loudly
of proud ancestors
immortalizing their
essence and
existence
painting
dwelling
hunting
sleeping
making tools
raising families
communicating
telling stories
leaving messages
their legacy
much like us
in many ways
yet so very different

How Animals Communicate

They may not talk like you and I do
They have a way of letting their feelings be known
Rather it is a mate, foe or friend
When a old dog wags his tail at you
Letting you know his friendship is being shown
He will fight for you until the end

When I see a buzzard circle in the sky
It is part of the circle of life, just doing his part
To survive on what one has left behind
The eagle that soars high in the sky
Hunting his prey with all of his heart
Saying being strong, brave is his kind

Cold wind, snow, bone chilling howl at a full moon
Lone wolf, tells all he is lonely and hungry
Canadian geese form a V, south they tend to fly
The way animal sing their tune
The sound of a Momma Bear protecting her cub, she is angry
Before it dies, a rabbit will cry

They have no calendars or watches to go by
Or any books to study, but somehow they know
Rather to migrate or find a mate
Not like people, they do not ask why
In the early morning, a proud rooster will crow
That is how animals communicate

Faves are all the rave,
But Retweets are hard to beat.

Communicate

Last time we spoke was at your window
I'm concerned for you though I'm sure it didn't show.

Don't trust communication electronically, 'cause that's not me.
The words that were written... I wasn't even allowed to see.

Take your rage out on me, I deserve it.
The whole situation is just a lot of bulls***

Responsibilities; their happiness is in my hands
I have a role in life, I know you wont understand.

They mean too much. What was I supposed to do?
I had to make a choice and I'm sorry it wasn't you.

Girl, When We Do Not Communicate With Each Other Properly

Girl, when we do not communicate with each other properly
We tend to push love away
Joy turns into darkness
Things have got to change
We need to open up to one another
There must be a form of telepathy
Or else, we will both reap the cold winds of sadness
And our souls will drown in misery

Premium Member In Space and Time

you don’t know me
but I’m a kindred spirit
my poetry is the bridge
I build to reach outward
through space and time

deep down I long to share
my longings my passions
my dreams my insecurities
I know you’re somewhere out there
and I love you wherever you are
as I strive to reach out to you and connect
beyond the confines of space and time

Premium Member In Spirit With Trees

** In Spirit with Trees **

I feel sad, feeling a kind of tragedy
When I see that a storm
        has broken…
            has felled trees.

Grass everywhere green, rises.
Flowers splendidly gracing…And
Blessed crops progress us all… But,

The fig, olive, walnut, willow, ash, and magnolia —
The palm, maple, oak, redwood, and evergreen —
The any and every kind of tree affect me,
As I breathe and dearly perceive.
I must confide, my curiosity
      about trees has deepened
Since decades ago, when I read
      some Japanese folklore
Tells of the believing their ancestors
Could remain here becoming spirits in trees.

That idea — plus the knowledge about how eons of trees
evolved since their days amidst the dinosaurs —
Has
…increased my awe of them, as I see
growth and strength for purposes, and to possibly
inspire as towering sillouhettes against the sky…
Beautifully awakening wonder, with a mysterious
Sensing
Trees may stand waiting communicate.

Premium Member Friendship

What is there to say now
What is left to be said
Has it not all been expressed
Let’s refrain from speaking further words
Discussion can turn into argument
So let’s just walk away agreeing to disagree
We do not have to agree to be friends

I respect all your views
You are my closest friend
Yet we don’t always agree
But that doesn’t have to tear our friendship
We are too mature for such foolishness
We can always accept agreeing to disagree
Let’s vow to keep our friendship true and strong

You always show respect
For I am your close friend
Though we sometimes disagree
There is no need for us to argue
It is good we can rise above the fray
And live our lives as friends agreeing to disagree
And communicate adult- to-adult

We value each other
And give ear to our views
We have so much in common
Which is the basis of our friendship
A strong bond and relationship each day
So let’s model how true relationships are maintained
Friendship is one of the greatest treasures

Surely on this we can agree
Friendship transcends full agreement
On all matters in life
