"Made In China"

They can have my money
If it saves me money

The toys I played with when I was young,
Says I enjoyed their hands
The Labels read
"MADE IN CHINA"

The cheap material on my back, the shoes I wore.
How easily they faded and tore
However, I enjoyed...

China
In China once
under a patched
sail canopy

at tables and stools
and later
alone

remembering days
when all
seemed all
important

the politics with friends
by day

and how the breeze
by night conspired

with
her golden hair.

Now I watch
the honey-draped fishing-dingies

return

like strays
of twilight

they glide in
sad-silence

finally to settle
in place

where they rock

gently
all night

under a surrender of stars.

Everything moving...

Premium Member Great Wall of China and Then Some
Block by block it starts to rise, Great Wall of China begins,
A barrier to stem the horde, marauding Mongolians,
Must be bigger and better, than ever attempted before,
Also should be breathtaking, far into the clouds will soar.

Where on earth do we start, going be thousands...

China Seas
Willow patterns chase around a bowl
Through pictographs of bluest tide,
Paper tigers and some bitter rice
When you became some others’ bride.

Sampan glides across a lily pond,
Ornamental and pristine,
Crimson dragons and a sky-ward kite
Their tails of envy brightest green.

Pagoda structures set against the sun,
A concubine salves in...

China Tour Diary Moment #3
SHANGRI-LA, TIBET
--------------------------------

Paradise on earth: Himalayan range;
A phenomenon carved by elements;
Here magic gives birth to ways that seem strange;
A place where lessons of soul mark movement.

Our tour coach winds round the mountain terrain;
Drive on man-made roads and excitement here;
High above the ground,...

China's might is people based
Why are they being so abased?
Free expression under a ban
The locked in souls; woman and man
A nations tapestry; world known
Where are its champions?
Has all reason flown?
An unyielding wall came down
Through Dictates based
On un-safe grounds
The wall is cracking. now stress lines...

Apologies To China
OPEN APOLOGIES TO CHINA

My sincere apologies to the nation China.
Light Dawns when there's illumination, situations becomes clearer.
I have stained your flag,
Disdain your land and given you a tag:
"Populated poisonously polluted people",
Gradually the world begin to see the real evil.
Sorry for the woundable worrying words
Targeted at...

The Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China, was built brick by brick
Forced by the Emperor, to stop his country getting hit
After many states, warring for this land
The Emperor decided to take things in hand

Those dragon designers, the best in all the north
Scholars, mathematicians, and the farmers they...

The Great Wall of China
Chinese slaves place their stones,
Breaking muscles and bones.
Defending its territory,
It shines in pitiful glory.
Yet this wall stands tall,
To defend those whom befall.
Those dark days have passed,
And now united at last....

Premium Member Save Our Sisters
A poem about infanticide of girls...

"Save Our Sisters!"

Many girls lost, many girls missed
Many girls lost, never to be Ms.
Strings of girls, strands of pearls,
Gone, gone, gone. Pretty, pretty, girls.
A mother's hug, a sister’s laugh, a daughter’s kiss
Lost, lost, lost. Missed, missed, missed.

Many girls lost,...

Pipe Dreams

Though I have a woman’s heart; it pounds with
dragon’s fire. Curled about the core of self,
I have lain in wait for Asia with claw, and horn.

Linked-locks and keys have spined beneath my hand
upon the tourist’s rails of China’s Great Wall where
builder’s bones...

I lived in Shenzhen, China, for my 6th and 7th grades - China was AMAZING.

In China, blond hair is unusual, I stood out like neon and touching blond hair was considered good luck.

In a train station, if I stood still, I could draw a curious...

Inside the Middle Kingdom
31/10/18

Beneath a pale sky of bleakest white,
Songs carried by the eastern wind,
The faint sounds of flutes and lesser known cries,
Reveal a surface less skimmed.

The slowest of flicks by a wise older wrist,
With contentment despite all the noise,
A story to tell at the call of five...
