Best Chi Poems
Park of unfenced wildness
densely packed in light infused summer
city folk beat paths of free spirited essence
park pigeons squat, survey seniors
in the grip of Tai Chi
to seize a different footing
orchestrated movement
Pigeons in an uncertain watch
wait
anticipating
trusting park folk to feed them
then launch in a flap fury of wings and cooing
to seniors' arms extended, open palms
Tai Chi posing
a tableau of food (mis-read)
open handed offerings?
absent
bird swarmed,
seniors shriek as in a Hitchcock film
their eroded routine
wellness check thwarted
push back 'gainst a flock,
shadowboxing the open air
seniors scatter
take flight in leaps fearful like space walk wandering
re-kindled voltage like lost sex energy lit
spectacle, in bird-winged fear
when movement's no longer the quiet order
we control
Poems composed July 13/2022
Arising from that which one view is pit
A distant seed close Ye appear Star
An Infinity for together though forever apart
A pictured path clear, still remains dark
This be Ye one true Yin and Ye one true Yang
The pendulum true, does swing back and forth.
Observational circumference silent at poles center
Breathing in, breathing out
Universal, universes be
I Am
can we become better than we are
to be our brother's keeper, complete
allow all else to fall by the way
silent and constant is always strong
words and action only speak so long
my suffering is nothing compared
to the innocent, to the guilty
at the center of the universe you will not find me
perfection finds fulfillment in love
true martyrs pray for their enemies
there is no fear of death, only joy
a secret kept for the simple mind
and the heart incapable of guile
guilt is counterfeit and indulgent
conviction draws us back to center
there is no distance between us and God
justice only finds fullness in death
the eternal embrace reveals truth
letting that which is higher defend
granted mercy, we ask for justice
can we find change in repetition
progress precluded, madness defined
freedom is to will God's will to all
This is a true story about our puppy Spikie who lives with
us and is our mascot on our farm...........
There once was a puppy named Spikie
His wishes were some what unlikely
He wanted to Guard
But left in the yard
At Five inches his height was unsightly

CHILLY CHI

Chilly chi had a blackish pearl she named it Winglow
One night she saw a piggie followed by her beau
Chilly chi spilled the thunder
Cut her pearl-bag asunder
Could not cast pearl before swine because she broke her toe
To have lived from the sensuous eye
Whose sight reflects all the seen that's not,
Enchanted by gates of which thy heart abides
Life's howling western winds -- stop not!
Foreign familiar faces that once awoke
Stirred inner paths embarked upon
Before, yet the same on looking road,
Built on memories so dearly held to bone --
Oh Time! Thou careless roaming tyrant,
Puppet master, up pulling Night from Day
My fountain of youth I see retiring!
Past I's thou mouldest and hath Shaped.
CHI - RHO IN THE BOOK OF KELLS
A millennium and more since it left the Scottish shore,
Chi -Rho Christ’s name
Swirling in an anaesthetising trance induces
The soul-memory back to an isle,
Called Lorn settled by St. Columba and twelve.
Fleeing battle to Kells abbey and to beehive cells
From treeless Iona where Scotland’s fingers
Are first touched by the Atlantic combers -
These first saints, touched by the spirit of the
Beatific vision slanting through beehive window slits,
Imagined that eternity : and each day created a vision
In the eternity of their loneliness and isolation -
Passing a lifetime bringing a second beginning
And illuminating our darkness.
Color alchemists turning orpiment to yellow,
Spirit alchemy distilling green verdigris from copper,
Drying woad for blue powder -
Celtic face-paint in the name of battle; and decoration
In the name of Christ.

I'm afraid this poem might seem a bit esoteric. It deals with the physical and philosophical evolution of the famous Book of Kells in Ireland. Perhaps the most beautiful and profoundly moving page is called Chi-Rho. For believers, this book ranks as probably the closest you can get to the word of God.
Today I practiced
tai-chi in front of a mirror
with a dozen beginners my age.
I didn't apologize
as I thought I might.
Strange
to pick out the
reflexively familiar.
Icon I,
seen from the outside.
Some of us
would have commanded
with angry eyes
if rumples were smoothed
but now we listen.
They lined up like this
in many old photographs of
unsymmetric faces
unceremonious bodies,
dignities clinginging to fact.
the blogger
is the wretched chicken
laying an asteroid.
the city dweller
is the self identifying
contagious forlorn.
he strives
for the praise.
he strives
for a masterpiece.
he is
in fact
a ruffian.
the breasts
of equality
the jaw of
rebellion.
the revolutionary
spark plug.
the YES MAN!
in this world,
when you are left to the bone.
no one wants to hear your
********.
the bull*****baths
of selfless,
powerless,
diminishment
of a character.
they would always
rather have the hero.
the self rising dough.
the collegiate fortune hunter.
they say "JUMP!
misery will pull you down!"
way down.
the feel of a fine wine glass.
you hold its hollow delicateness.
the heart.
contract and expand.
up and down we go.
from filth to pristine sterility.
'tis better to have a hen tomorrow
than an egg today.
Mr Chi they call me
I'm the boss you see
I maybe small
But I feel 10 feet tall
I sleep all day and night too
Every little noise I'll alert you
Hear that cat a mile away
Love to chase it and play
Other dogs how dare they be
I'm a proper dog can't they see
Internal clock says it's walkies time
Nose is ready to smell things devine
Love my food could eat all day
Overweight, I heard the vet say
Love my mum to bits
Protect and guard her wherever she sits
I'm a little stubborn so they say
Only do things my way
Tummy tickles my favourite thing
Doggy heaven it sends me in
Biggest bark you will ever hear
O yes did I say I like beer
I'm a Chihuahua through and through
Loving, loyal, and playful too
Back to sleep it's been a while
Mr Chi will make you smile
Heat warmer then death,
Moment out weight hours,
Tone Beast aware of night,
Sound waves unique of aura,
Sense of beginning higher then usually,
Tone Beast aware of night,
Sight fully of rage,
Heightening to engage,
Is power power with hand or pen,
What make for weapon,
What make for a fighter,
Tone Beast aware of night.
All
souls
join minds
as one thought
of togetherness
celebrating our time as one
spieces of humans
bound by our
lives on
Earth
We
should
think it
possible
finding peace within
conjoining of beautiful souls
on this planet all call home through our seperate journeys
upon waves described as our lives
with time limited
transcending
