Topping the Star Charts

Voyager 1’s “The Sounds Of Earth”

Eleven billion miles from the sun
a record, golden when it left these parts,
a runaway hit on Voyager One,
at Ophiuchus, sure to top the charts,
will introduce Mozart to other stars,
not to mention Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode”.
The knock-offs sold in alien bazaars
will knock their socks off or at least it should
make them extend their eyestalks in surprise.
They’ll soon begin to learn to sing along
to whales recorded and the baby’s cries —
adepts might even master Earth’s birdsong.
Should Beethoven not prove to be their fave,
Then Guan PingHu’s GuQin could be their rave.

Ever since the times of enlightenment obfuscating harmonious balance
Romantic love has taken a back seat in the absurd theatre of minds

My light my mind my empathy bonds and my unconditional passion
have been shrouded in darkness have tainted romance and creation

Empiricism from the age of so called reason certainly towers over
inclinations and feelings burrows deeply and undermines emotions

Ever since Freud investigated libido and death wish attempted to
establish a science from Id’s superb battle with Ego and Oedipus
separated phallus and **** retention from sucking up oral tradition
we have been seduced by scientific dogma and lust for the vice of logic

Like Mephistopheles debating a Faustian pact with layers of devil
we pay tribute to Descartes who doubted his incredulous doubts

The clever guys investigate Philia measure orgasms and pleasure
take delight in quantifying empathy bonds hail to measurability

In perverse contradictions to faith and belief even Agape has been turned
and tossed over on spread sheets excelling in proof beyond reasonable qualms

Call me ancient and backward and taint me with the label of idealism
pour tar over my feathers hang me quarter me and try to remove my heart

Yet here it stands tall in celebration and without schism of ambivalence
transcends into every aspect of life and peace loving kindness’ compassion

Let me call it romance and pure love apart from sex and carnal desires and
let it be known that those amorous French guys in vernacular fashion
defined it as 'verse narrative' alluded to stories from creative excitement

I love you my lover and friendships adore my children like to be playful
seek kind connections and empathy do not discount altruism as a ruse

But I have this relationship with books emerge from ex libri in fancy and art
They are friends dear to my soul they talk to me evoke the whole palette
of stretching my life on a canvass of marvellous beauty and fascination
and when I engage with words and with pages they start to listen to my love

Charted performance has little place in my essence whereas reading enchants me envelops and embraces my spirits makes me whole and can’t tear me apart

Premium Member My Happy Is Off the Charts

The sun is shining brightly
On high and in my heart
Can't think of any good reason
Why my happy is off the chart

Could it just be a fluctuation
In my everyday ebb and flow
Or am I about to inherit a fortune
Perhaps fifty million or so

That'd get my heart a-pumping
Have to go lie down I fear
Gotta survive to really enjoy my luck
At least for a few more years

Maybe a trip to some exotic place
Where the girlies dress in grass skirts
Swing and sway oh what a scene
This stress I must try to avert

Always been a real big sucker
For members of the opposite sex
They drive me wild, my eyes bug out
I stutter and stammer, by heck

How bout that, my fine feathered friends
Survived another bout of girly-itis
One day it's sure gonna get me good
When it renders me totally speechless

The sun is shining brightly
On high and in my heart
Do you know why I'm so pooping happy
Coz of the joy you do impart<>

Premium Member The Latest Love Charts

We two have just reached No.1
On the latest just released love charts
Knew our love was being considered
By the way we traded our hearts

Well we've finally been honoured
For our 30 year love affair
It matters not that we lost one another
We're back with a love so rare

You never left my loving heart
Was waiting for September 7th
Then it happened, a miracle happened
Never again to leave my presence

To love one another till death do us part
Is a familiar time honoured refrain
But it applies to us like all of the rest
We'll never be wanting again

A Man of Many Parts

He is a man of many parts;
Not once not twice topping The Charts,
Even at throws of A Drunk’s Darts
And easy picking of noiseless farts …

In their party, a top notcher,
On campus, discussed lecturer,
In some property, a poacher,
In some clinic, Satan’s butcher,
Amidst women, Adventurer …

Indeed, A Man of many parts,
Who might soon dare horse-driven carts!

As You Tiptoed Off My Charts

As you tiptoed off my charts
My mouth opened to scream
Yet no words flew from my mouth
Only specks of dust
Blinding my vision
As you crept out of my life

Innocence Charts

Through the years as a girl gets older her innocence chart fades and the numbers go down.
You see when she's first born it's at 100. Than by 2 when she takes her first step it goes down
about 5 points. When she's 5 and starts demanding cookies and lollipops her innocence chart
goes down about 20 points . When she's 9 and you start buying her baby dolls that come with
strollers and fake baby bottles. The kind the train the little girl to grow to be a mommy... her
innocence chart takes a really deep plunge by almost 40. When the girl is 12 and finally
experiencing womanhood and you have to tell her about the birds and the bees and even though
she's young warn her about pregancy her innocence goes down 15. Now during her teenage
years her score goes down with each passing day. With each boy friend and exploration of the
body. WIth each kiss innocence is fading further. So I'd say between 13 and 14 it goes down an
extra ten. Now all we have left is 10 points and the worst innocence destroyer is highschool.
Statstics show that by 17 almost 70% percent of girls have had sex. So by 17 either your waiting
and antiicipating or their's no points left to fade and we all know what that means. Once
innocence fades you began to develop adults problems... lets just hope the girls are ready for
this next chart.
