Best Bronzing Poems
Sunless days under artic charred skies
frozen rain pelting, making me cry
harsh north winds, chill to the bone
why do I even call this place home?
Dreams of paradise have begun
Endless sunsets over clear cobalt seas
Pure white sands blanketing a quiescent cove
as a warm zephyr floats across my bronzing tan
and then I see her
that smooth Mediterranean toned skin
sauntering slowly through the gentle tide
playful splashes glimmering off her sun kissed lips
her dark sunglasses and colourful hat attempting to hide her beauty
but I know
I can see it in her graceful gait
in her sensuous sway
the way she lightly kicks the water
and definitely in her smile
oh how she flashed it my way
when she saw my stare
when I walked up
and she flipped that hair
an angel rising from the sea
my missing olive tree
I knew
I knew she was for me
we walked the beach and talked
she took my hand
my heart went a flutter
as our lovelorn lips locked
I was home

Silhouette of trees dressed in chiffon prints
Oaks, pines, maples tossing their hair
I trail along their rumba curve
way down to where glazed bushes nestle.
Above roasted sail of Laguna River
crossing a moat...today, foliage begins to seethe
on flamed leaves amidst summer’s embrace,
as more timber follow a float
where mauve petals kiss the air.
The bronzing of glens and wheezing of mist
reach a coaled ember of summer fire,
cluster of moments drapes veined trunk
with sniff of earthy scent, reminding me
how lush the branches swell against heat
of August ‘s coals when two pairs of arms
brush the stars with paint of reveries.
Warm the meeting of palms fondling the barks
In a dizzy sketch of romance, and then,
Like a curl of ambrosial boughs in rumba dips,
Trees hold passion’s charade, until...

The sun fills me with glory and my tank is refreshed, right down to my toes it sinks its vitamins deep, I have often laid and lazily fallen asleep, careful those rays are harshly blessed.
Amongst many a bronze goddess I compare, an extra ray here and there would not care, Aphrodite herself would stop and stare, T'was not another English girls affair.
Temptous shining like Goddess's do, sat in my shiny beach like mind, staring so blind not knowing quite who are you, quietly reflecting a moment I find.
Delicious rays so bright whilst I sit, a quick rest back on the road I find bright, off with a jump and a kick in my wit. Its getting more like an ode.
The glittering sun glorious I'm abound ,your yellow your round I think I have found, you fill me up my tank it's not a test, I'm now with mother nature I'm finally blessed

A pple pickers gaily riding in wagons, sipping cider along the way, headed for orchards, on a crisp, clear sunny day.
U mbrellas turned inside out when wily north winds blow, and sheets of rain, without refrain, follow all the way home.
T urning leaves of gold and crimson hues, ignite the woodlands and city parks, a spectacular, humbling view.
U mber swathes of color, spreading over marsh and field, extinguishing summers rainbow palette, bronzing acres without yield.
M ischievious squirrels scamper, hording acorns in winter nests and wooly bear caterpillars journey to their rest.
N ight rises, dropping a charcoal veil, a choir of crickets chirping, in the chilly autumn air.

Leafy meadow
He lies her down
Defrocked from
Her summer gown
Bodies bronzing
In the blazing sun
Natures wanting
Scents will run
Exploration
As their hands caress
He gentles down
On her body, impress
She welcomes her love
Through her gates of bliss
In this place of colour
Kiss after kiss
Their sweat-ed dew
In the sun glistens
Natures audience
Warmly listens
A gentle breeze
As the plant life sways
Like the rhythmic action
On her he lays
Orchestral sounds
Echo their all
Moans and groans
Their loving vocal
They sigh in tandem
Sharing each other
Collapsing in cuddle
In this lea of clover

Oaks, pines, maples flushing their hair
I trail along their rumba curve
Way down to where young bushes nestle
Above gentle sail of Charles River
crossing a moat...slowly, foliage begins to drop
thin leaves in nearness of autumn’s embrace,
As more shredded timber follow in graceful float
Where mauve petals kiss the air.
The bronzing of glens and wheezing of mist
Reach a final close of summer fire,
Cluster of moments drape veined trunks

Of August ‘s coals when two pairs of arms
Coated the moon with paint of reveries,

We met, a brief moment in time, a passing encounter, a long goodbye. From the beginning it seemed only goodbye, missing each moment before it passed, longing for time, Tick, Tick, Tick, the sound of your heart beat, your golden eyes, sad eyes, shadows haunting me, your form cast on cottony clouds, the silvery beast stealing you, the time is gone. We are gone.
silhouette on glass
your image lingers in me
sweet bird fly away
We are together, time passes, but I see you... again. Beautiful island, reflections of you, mountains, beaches, cascading falls, all are you. Exotic beauty, mine for a moment, walks in the forest holding hands, lost in the trees laughing, white skin bronzing in the sun, soft skin, supple and smooth, pineapples and strawberries and passion... fruit, I leave. We are you and me...again.
only thoughts of you
sadness is my companion
what poor company
We marry! Love, joy, happiness, our time has come, together now, my dream, our dream fulfilled. We are we.
our time has begun
you and me now so much more
together as we

My babies loved the cats,
through the ages of the naps,
in the pages,
in the clasp,
on the floor,
atop a mat,
I pull it out and flip a bat-
let a lover free the band,
so I may rebuttal and unleash some wrath...
Because just one tap on the blacks,
leads a lover to the back,
just like one Cambridge man of the past-
holds a drink,
and chats your gas-
shoots your lore back at the boss-
holds your cross with MS DOS,
dances slow,
without a flirt,
dances slow,
and acts the jerk,
wounds the birds,
with sailing lurch,
corrodes the curbs,
with wheeling verse,
feeling verve-
eats the skirts,
while doing peddles,
and bronzing metals,
mutating meadows,
while racing against yellows,
seasons those fellows pollinating in the bellows-
of an R1 while you're having so much fun...
Being a beast while you're facing the gun,
in the rip of time between going home and burning the buns,
focusing on the fever that got you your lump some.

Beaming sun upon my back
Establish my summer days
A beach, my boys, a blanket, and
Cold drinks, as I soak my rays
Hoping to darken my tan
Bronzing as the babies play
Lotioned head-to-toes
Applied Aveeno Baby, even to their nose
No frowns for the camera, 1-2-3, strike a pose.
Keen eye set on them, as the breeze gently blows
Easy and relaxed, my eyes begin to doze
Todd takes patrol, so I can repose & lay
Bestirred by buckets of water
Ice cold on sunkissed flesh
Now they're gonna get it good, I
Grab the cooler full of ice, and rush
Out in the sun, our time is spent the best

"Beach Haven Beauty"
blazing beach invites to infiltrate Sun's rays
bronzing silky skin adorns pink blanket glow
golden tresses inhale Summer's lazy haze
cool ocean waters cresting white waves sea show
soothing balmy breeze caresses quaint sea shells
while windchimes dance in pirouette tinkling bells
mind and body resonate deepest delights
touching peace as heart and soul breathes beauty's sights.

An Arm’s Length Dream
Sometimes, frivolous dreams of turquoise waters and white beaches
Swaying palms amidst sea grape borders, bronzing sun,
warming my pale white skin. I would sip lemonade, soothe my body in laziness,
my mind in boredom. And when it is over, I dream of when I can return.
Sometimes, the dream of power motivates my talents.
Quickly to be realized, a task I am not suited for, but dream
of what I would do, if only….
I would probably fail, for my nature is fair, full of empathy.
I dream of fortune, because that is the answer to all of life’s problems.
Or so they say, I do not believe, so fortune eludes me.
Knowing myself well, I would give it all away,
for there is always someone in need.
But in my silent dreams, the ones I feel within my heart;
the dreams I would perform with no hesitation;
the dreams I dream in prayer,
of little faces drawn with darkened eyes.
The Orphans, starving, the hungry, the crippled.
Thirsty in the African deserts, tiny children,
scattered by disaster, wandering from disease,
clinging to each other, for there is no one else
I dream I have arms so long I can embrace them all.
I calm their fears, heal bodies, and teach them love.
I would dry their tears, have them feast and feed their souls
Their darkened eyes soon become bright.
And while my arms are stretched around the world of children,
no longer orphans, for they would have me.
A Mother, a protector, a guardian,
And they would know LOVE.

Brown
June 25, 2010 at 1:11pm
This is brown…umbre,
It is shadow and that which you think you see there,
It is a mixture of all colors, and as such, it includes and underlies everything,
It is ancient, born of inertia and speaks of coming to rest in quiet stillness,
Of an accumulation of things expended and discarded,
Of missing or forgetting, decaying and dying,
Of brittle leaves that rattle and shake in the wind on frigid nights,
And crumble underfoot on a familiar path,
On which we all travel, where all return to feed new growth,
Of digging ditches in hard clay, of ground in dirt and sweat stained hard labor in bronzing heat,
Of beasts and men repeatedly plowing the soil, unearthing the scent of things buried and of longing,
Of crusted rust on steel or dried scabrous blood that covers a wound as it heals,
It is solid and heavy, in the smell, taste and density of iron,
It is in the weight and feel of old books, hardwood, an immoveable stone and authority,
And the thick aroma of smoked animal hides,
Of dark tannins and impenetrable murky water,
It is an elusive space concealed by the thin surface of a momentary present,
It is the unseen and the unknown and spurs a hunger to know, it spurs all desire,
It is searching to be and yet remains neutral, here and not, forever watching, always waiting,
It is the color of awareness and a knowing sadness,
It is the weight of all life in the burden of gravity that holds us to the earth,
It is the cry of and the earth itself,
As we so deeply want to fly,
It is what prevails after all else is considered.

Apparitions of buried memories exhumed with rash eulogies
Arouse dried up tears that ever fail to cleanse the robe of guilt
Arraigning again before the partial jury of tormenting thoughts
Kaleidoscopic filial relationships hypnotize the mind to dumbness
Kamikaze images on ethereal screen longingly beckoning for a role
Kedging the ship of life’s voyage with sorrowful tugs to damnation
Intentions misjudged rivet spiteful labels reflected by wicked eyes
Impaling arrows of hate perforate the spirit to seep out its essence
Invitation to invasion by dark fiends to fetter the mind’s fragile walls
Neglected on shore as brothers and sisters sail out with patron’s hearse
Neighbors cut out their flesh of revenge measuring with unjust scales
Neutral judges acquiesce with stolid silence as the gavel of authority
Black skin refuses to be cajoled by those richly perfumed emollients
Bronzing came by nature’s quirk and glistening the sweat of its kiln
Brawn cultivated in the gymnasium of hard labor threads the body
Anodynes are moments of laughter with friends that rob sorrow of joy
Allayed fears sucked into the chasm of oblivion by a vortex of pleasure
Annoyance a rare display on a platform erected on the base of candor
Mistakes of the past hurled as fiery pebbles of insult across continents
Mark with contorting bruises turning the face into an offensive mask
Maturity date for restoration of loaned out bond suspended on a caveat
Intermittent pulses race to recesses of cranial bank to withdraw memories
Intractable dramas staged to the roars of disgust banished with entreaties
Internalized are kernels of the fruit of life eaten hurriedly in ignorance

The holly berries reveal
a bronzing tint of orange
on their journey to becoming
deep, dark, blood reds.
Soon the three bonded trees
will glow in vibrant color
held bold and standing out
against the snow and waxy green.
This is the robins and the blue jays
favorite winter treat
stolen and devoured
in one cold, harsh winter day.
Off in the distance,
some trees are fully naked
while others unexposed
wait to undress.
Some have color barely faded
held on the palette of distinction
still full with greens, yellows,
crimson reds and orange.
Others stretch and open up
the blue ocean of the sky
and but for one or two cloudy wisps,
brilliant beneath the sun.
Now and then
there comes the rush and slurried breeze
moving through defoliating leaves
then holding still and quiet
playing a game of peek a boo
throughout the days of mixing
warm, hot, cold, gentle, and rough
Indian Summer Autumn.
