Toyota No Brakes

In many times in my life I always looked for exits.
Could only get so far and I get pulled over in the intersections.
I called them the Hate PD.
Some of them I use to call my allies but I was to blind to see.
They come at with their lights all blue and red.
Saying negative things that get inside my head.
Making me break and pullover.
Asking God "why me", then I look over my shoulder.
"Landon this GPS conscience speaking.
These negative thoughts silence them, start doing and stop over-thinking!"
On the road again as I see the red and blue lights are getting closer.
Put my foot on the gas as they're yelling at me to pullover.
Give up was turning into keep going
Now I see more lights as I'm doing a 65 in a 53
I'm weak turned into I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.
Flying past those exits with no hesitation.
Because I'm not braking for anybody who wants to keep me from my destination.
No one can replace me.
And my enemies do not faze me.
Slowing down as I shed a happy tear.
Its quiet, I look at my rear view noticed the lights have disappeared.
Believe in yourself and God with all the problems your facing.
"Landon, thanks for driving. You have reached your destination."

That Is Some Hydraulic Brakes

That is Some Hydraulic Brakes

One day at a food shop,
I met a man selling cakes,
For money he wanted to swap,
But I really wanted some hydraulic brakes.

"Got any hydraulic brakes?" asked I.
"For that's how I'll spend my money."
"No hydraulic brakes here!" said the guy.
He seemed to find it quite funny.

"We've got some lovely marbles,
I'll give you a very fine price."
"I'd rather have some barbels."
The man blinked rapidly thrice.

The man seemed exceptionally cunning,
And his manner was strangely amused.
He wasn't what I would call stunning,
The great disdain he noticeably oozed.

Like others, he thought I was odd,
Some say I'm a bit slim.
Still he gave me a courteous nod,
As if he thought I was plenty skim.

So in search of my goal I departed,
But before the food shop could I leave,
The man came running full-hearted,
"I can help you I believe."

"Cakes, hydraulic brakes, you shall find.
Marbles, barbels, you can get.
You must now open your mind,
And get down to Barker's Market.

So to Barker's Market I decided to go,
In search of the hydraulic brakes I craved.
The winds it did eerily blow.
But I felt that the day could be saved.

There were stalls selling cakes,
Apples in many shades.
There were even stalls selling rakes
People were scattered from many trades

I was greeted by a peculiar lady,
She seemed to be rather slim
I couldn't help thinking she might be quite shady.
I wondered if she was at all skim.

Before I could open my mouth,
She shouted, "For you, I have some hydraulic brakes!"
I headed towards her, to the south,
Past some marbles and cakes.

"But how did you know?" I asked,
"Do you want them or not?" she did say.
Silently, the hydraulic brakes she passed.
Then vanished before I could pay.

As I walked away I hard a crackle
Or was it, perhaps, a hushed cackle?

No Brakes At Forty

No Brakes At Forty

No Brakes at forty, I got to stop. It starts to rain
and I'm on the freeway. I see a car that got too
close, but I can't stop. I push the brake, but it don't
work.

I start to panic, what can I do? I thought I knew,
but my brakes won't come through. I see a car that's
up ahead - I thought OH no , if I hit it - I'm dead.

I looked behind, I looked around. I see an exit, I turn the
wheel and out I go. Believe it or not - but I was now going
slow. I knew then that I was safe. I now knew that one way
or another my car would stop...

Squealing Brakes

Silent empty train,
Lush warm body presses mine
Slow down or derail

Eyelashes flutter
Blue eyes flash intense passion
Too late now, no brakes

Flaming Gorge

Eighteen and feline lean
Headed for all those places I've never seen
As I hit the road with a big grin
Setting out so I will win
In a place, I have never been
I must not be late
I have a job that awaits

After the interview, I pretty much knew
What I would do
I will be in a place where the sky is so blue
With a bunch Of people, I barely knew
As we get on our way they say
Won't be back for twenty-five days

We get paid for every hour we are awake
Now I'm wondering if they aren't fake
Arriving in remote places
Hope I can handle these paces
Up all night till morning light
Didn't feel quite right

As we left the job site
I thought about being up all night
Until the job is done
The money is great but I am spun
Nothing about this job was any fun
Off to another place with crazy Kevin
Not aware that soon I would be headed for heaven

Climbing up Flamming Gorge
It's easy to see why its so high
When we cross the peek
Everything looked so bleak
As we lost the bakes
No kidding this was for all the stakes
Why must I pay for Kevin's mistake

As I open the door when I felt
The truck slide even more
Side to side what a hell of a ride
I'm just glad we did not turn
The truck into a glide

I can't hide behind I was scared
To get to the bottom side
When the truck stopped I popped out the door
To chalk this truck so it would roll no more

Premium Member No Brakes

No Brakes.

Accelerating at a faster and faster pace
All down hill without a brake
For I have lost control
Feel no longer human
Only smothering consuming darkness
And biting bitter cold

For I lingered in limbo
Alone
For much too long
I was never weak
But strong
I pushed myself too far
Just too many wounds that would not heal
Life but a bed of nails
I know longer feel
Nothing but pain
Left abounded naked in acid train
I yelled out screamed
And no one came

Umbilical chord severed from the world
No one knows the dark places and things I have seen
Wake from a dream to a nightmare
A barren desert where nothing grows
 Or is evergreen

A far off uncharted island
Washed up on the shore
I once ate sweet apples
But now they are rotten to the core

A single drop in an endless ocean
So many wasted years
I know what hell is like
Cried a sea of internal tears

Viewing life go by through a telescope
Always on the outside looking in
Hurled myself in the deep end
Then found out I couldn’t swim
Always tiredly holding my head above the water
Kissed the Bosons daughter

Free-falling through the sky
With no parachute
Deemed to hit the ground
Who cares
When there’s no one there

Soon to be forgotten
An unknown name on a weathered grave stone
Hidden from view under dense undergrowth
Lived a torturous life of loneliness
Just I
Me
Alone.

A heart without a home.

Nearing My End - Hit the Brakes

Ahhhh….Here’s a wound to mend
Ahhhh….Please, put my mind at ease
Ahhhh….You don’t see me, nearing my end…
Ahhhh….Nearing my end…(you’re left without a clue)
Pre-chorus #2: You turned out to be so mean…you were so heartless… (you
make me feel like nothin’…make me feel like someone…somethin’ – your words
pierced me like a pin on the floor)
I’m not haunted by your callous night…don’t pick a fight (with me…we were
innocent like a newborn infant)

I feel this strange insecurity & hopelessness
Why are you looking for traumatizing troubles and countless commotions?
Give me a second to breathe in and out & step out of the abyss
The tears are drowning my eyes…is there any healing potions?

Give me an excuse or a reason
To overcome these waves of emotions
Stop making me feel sorry for your mistakes
Stop blaming me for your crimes..your terrible crimes
I’m not guilty for your wrongs or your lies – hit the brakes!
I’ve paid the price and rolled the dice countless times

Pump the Brakes

In a world that is just Go, Go, Go
sometimes I have to yell "Slow, Slow, Slow"
A sunrise is slow, so is the sunset
for everyone rushing you should let,
the colors trap you like a fish in a net.

Today youth wants age, and Age wants youth
Look All the make-up creams as my proof
My brother is so small, but he can't wait,
until he blowing the candles to his 18th cake
I tell him, "It's okay to pump the brakes."

See, rith now it's fine for you to play in dirt
Years later, you'll cuss when it's on your shirt
The bills on the counter will make you grow enough
and empty gas tanks makes life really rough
Not to mention filling the house with expensive stuff.

They say life is highway, no it's the autobahn
you have to cut people off just to get on
Nowadays it's give me, give me, then let me take
slow down everyone, please pump the brakes
One day, there'll be no more birthday cakes.

When Daylight Brakes

I think of you
in starry nights,
and if the last train passes,
I will wait.
And even in the darkest night
is somewhere
light,
not only shade.

Memories will sometimes fade,
but will not die.
And when the night has come,
your dreams will bring them back
and let them fly.

When daylight breaks,
the early morning sun
throws golden showers
and awakes,
and leave you in a joyful state
of morning songs and flowers.

Brakes and Kickstands Today

music playing
the kind the soothes the soul
water flowing
the flow that frees the innocence in the air
the cherry lemonade is just the right amount of cool
mother nature's presentation is the perfect mellow mood
time has decided to take an elongated siesta
the birds are all united and happy
no sirens are blaring
no dogs are barking
all the bills are paid
it's my first day off work today
there is money still left in my paycheck
to hell with spending more right now, i am fully unpluggin'
the james gang and the grateful dead are both in my head
however, i wanna put that don williams song on that i like so much
i believe too, and God is Blessing me for it
what makes me happy furthermore is knowing that i am not the only one
then i pray for those who beg to differ

Diesel In The Morning

Daddy drove a truck
I'm a trucker's son
I'll be driving eighteen wheelers
'til my trucking days are done
Momma lives for trucks
looking good under the hood
born in a cab
I have trucking in the blood
and it takes air brakes truck stops
weigh stations too
pedal to the metal
coming on through
fired up wired up shifting gears
running on caffeine
it's music to my ears
I have a yearning
to hear those engines burning
rolling down the road
to the sound of wheels turning
hit the highway as day's dawning
I love the smell of diesel in the morning
