A Birthday Poem For My Very Special Friend
(This is also composed for my dear friend, PD)
Your birthday is indeed a great time of gaiety,
It calls for a celebration, a Grand Poetic Party
But, what I have just said is only a secondary
Most importantly, your life is great and healthy.
I am writing this poem first and foremost,
To send my love and best wishes to the most
For all the dreams of yours, let’s make a toast
May they all be fulfilled without any cost.
Since, I don’t have here your complete address,
I cannot send you chocolates, cakes or roses
So, I’ll just send my fervent prayer for success
To God, He may protect you, guide you and bless.
I will also enclose in these lines of my poem,
My songs of bliss for you and your family at home,
May you be free from all worries and gloom
Age added but, you’re a gal who incessantly bloom.
My dearest friend Linda, have a very happy birthday,
If you are only here, I’ll dance with you today,
Like a lady on her debut on the 18th Natal Day
You’re our Grand Celebrity in ‘tis Land of Poetry.

Happy Birthday To Me
I'm Old As Can Be
I Am Forgetful
And Lost My Memory
I Need Glasses To See
My Eyesight Will Flee
My Ears Constantly
Need Help To Hear Thee
To Bed I Will Be
My Dreams Are Set Free
I Soon Will Be Snoring
A Whole Lot Of ZZZZZZ's

( cause I'm as old as history ) LOL
This is just a note to say,
I thought of you today.
I could see you in my mind,
When as a child you played.
I remember all the years,
Both the laughter and the tears;
The bandaged knees, the scary dreams,
I'd try to calm your fears;
And then of course there were the years,
That we were less than friends.
I loved you still but oft I thought,
Those years would never end.
You thought I was your enemy.
It tore apart my heart.
You couldn't see how much I cared.
It pierced me like a dart.
We fought because I cared for you,
And I was in the way.
We saw things differently, we two,
Not like it is today.
Now I think you understand,
You've children of your own.
You strive to give them all you can,
Provide for them a home.
It isn't always easy,
But you don't mind at all,
Because these are your babies,
And it's worth it all in all,
To know that they have all they need,
And that they're well and hearty;
For this is what a mother does,
It's not just one big party.
You're doing fine my darling girl,
But know that I'm still here.
Just as you're their mom for life,
I am yours my dear.
You had my heart from the start
Your the only man that will never break my heart
Your the perfect PAP a man could be
With guidance, wisdom and integrity
Your always there when I call
You come running know matter how big or small
Even-though I've let you down
Your always there with a smile
You give my heart so much joy
Loving you I want nothing more
You've never changed your grateful ways
I LOVE YOU more than words can say
I hope you have a blessed day
With all my LOVE HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Birthday Poem for Mother Leonora
8 April 2015
For only now I understand
The meaning of endurance
For the gravity that you held so grand
I would this day take as compliance
Though I would like to see you
As still young and vibrant
A prayer of another birthday to come through
Your glowing presence is my ritual chant
For all the love and sacrifice
I cannot repay, my life is my indebtedness
For a wonderful lady, there is so much to rejoice
Starting a life with you in the constancy and absoluteness
I am longing for your embrace
I am still the child by your side
Looking every cloth you crocheted, it was time you outfaced
Your sweat of hard work has made great strides
Today is your birthday
Happy Birthday, Mama Leonora
Wishing you a bright, blessed 75th birthday
We love you, our Señora
Never not what it started as; with no promises handed. Backs watched properly; when needed and/or convenient.
Thinking on universal time and ten year calendars. Air heavy with spice, salt crisp on my lips.
Eyes blinded by stars
Yanto Kay Yanto
You Are Not That Old!
(your wrinkled skin sags spotted with age)
Yanto Kay Yanto
You Are Not That Old!
(The Music's not loud turn down your hearing aid)
Yanto Kay Yanto
You Are Not That Old!
(when in bed your dentures sleep in a cup)
Yanto Kay Yanto
You Are Not That Old!
(forget stray pets the children now bring home sweethearts)
Yanto Kay Yanto
You Are Not That Old!
(say bye bye high heels & hi to slippers & cane)
Yanto Kay Yanto
You Are Not That Old!
(what grey hair its all gone snow white)
Yanto Kay Yanto
You Are Not That Old!
(you talk of doctors and diets instead of hot dinner dates)
Yanto Kay Yanto
You Are Not That Old!
(I remember you as a damp dipered baby so I know I'm right)
Yanto Kay Yanto
You Are Not That Old!
as a child you wished to be old enough to do as your elders did
(Isn't it great that some wishes do come true)
Yantok Kay Yantok
You Are NOW That Old Kay !
You are Now
Marina, Motherina, Baba, Mum!
Reflect upon what your life has become:
Born in Harbin to refugee Russians,
Tossed out by Mao, with mild repercussions.
Aussie girl, country girl, raised by grandmas,
And grandpa and parents (both pains in her ****).
Small school, to high school with penguin-ed nuns,
Bespeckled and bikeless - childhood is done!
Went off to college at Melbourne Uni,
Made friends, stole a goat and earned a degree.
Entered the workforce for airliner doomed,
Later a teaching position assumed.
Married a beardy fresh in from Hungry
(also a Russian circuitously)...
Moved to the suburbs - East of the border,
Had a few children (not in that order).
Two in-laws out back, who helped with offspring,
Replaced by her mum, who started writing.
Son and two daughters, she raised to adult,
Some better than others - not all her fault.
Each offspring took flight, with their other half.
All but the youngest, who forged her own path.
Some grandkids were born, they grew up a bit,
Throw in some church stuff and that's about it.
born today,
long ago,
another number,
as i grow,
im happy now,
as i age today,
another birthday,
along the way..

"If my heart could spell love it would spell your name
Though I look tough on the outside, I’m kinda lame
I smell bad, I look dirty, I’m such a shame
I don’t care what they say, they’re all the same
One thing’s for sure
You are my cure
I don’t feel insecure
Lover’s have past
I hope I am your last
I’m having such a blast
I thank you for your love
I thank the guy above
What other word rhymes with shove?
Can’t wait to see you later
Time is such a traitor
I’m such a lousy waiter
Sorry for my rhymes
This is just grime
No excuse like little time
So many things to say
So little time today
So here it is. Happy birthday
”I love you Mye!"
Happy Birthday, Ava Grace,
I hope a smile adorns your face.
Today's the day to celebrate you,
All you are and all you do.
On this day you came to be,
A precious member of our family,
So tiny, you were like a doll,
But now you're ten and getting tall.
I hope you have the best of days,
Filled with laughter and sunny rays.
May you always know that we love you,
And pray that all your dreams come true.
Birthday poem
I'm not sure you quite understand
How I still flutter at the touch of your hand
You take care of me every day
And love me in every way
If only you knew how you make me feel
You make me laugh and help me to heal
Always thoughtful and giving
You work hard for our living
You make me so proud every day
So I just want a second to make sure I say...
Thank you so much for being my man
And for trying to fix me as hard as you can
So on the day of your birth, let's celebrate
So lucky to have you as my best mate
For my Best friend
on her Birthday...
My dearest friend
Thru tears and laughter
Thru joy and sadness
My friend forever...
We've been thru troubles
We've been thru sorrows
We've been thru losses
Yet gained so much more...
My dearest sister
My precious friend
I love you dearly
Hope you are blessed...

Birthday Poem For Corbyn
Corbyn, this birthday poem is for you
Requested by your mommy, Nycole
For you to always cherish forever
And written by your Great Grams Flo
This is the day that you turn three
With a wonderful day of joyful fun
Filled with love, laughter and treats
So try to remember March 24, 2021
The gathered thoughts of you
Were simply whipped all together
Noted first, you are like a little shadow
To Jonathan, who is your big brother
As you keep on following him
Doing everything that he does
You are still way more energetic
And more active than he ever was
You are like your superhero, Catboy
So limber and so fast that I can see
You will become a great leader too
With all your pizazz and personality
I don’t see you much with this pandemic
Except for pictures to keep me updated
I am looking forward to knowing you more
Enjoying time together since we are related
The time will come when you get to go
To a Grandchildren Day party one day
Filled with food, games and lots of fun
For you and your cousins to all play
Please remember this birthday wish
To carry your joy up higher and above
All the enjoyment you’ve held before
Because you’re raised by a family of love
