Best Be Amiss Poems
Light to my soul, heavenly bliss,
If you forgive me Lord
Loving you naught can be amiss,
For penance I afford.
Death seems ever so near
My soul should be all clear
Take me Lord there's no fear.
Let the bells toll,
Light to my soul.

Our world be amiss, is without love’s kiss
love’s way is narrow, hard for mind to find
sacred heart is bliss, has narrow’s love’s kiss
pray the world will awake, from the mind’s fake…
Love is absolute, the mind gives not a toot
says let us prop it up, lets us lust sup
authoritatively assumes love’s loom
like a night Loon whistling it’s gooney tune…
You say what’s the answer to world’s problem
it is caused by concepts of mind’s cobbling
ever you listen, when love offers kissing
am I brother’s keeper, precept deeper…
Concepts assuming love precept’s power
this be world’s problem, `tis the mind’s goblin.
Life system is love, must come from above
and by the sacred heart, love must depart…
Precept is absolute, `tis mind’s keeper
keeper of imaginations weaker!
Where shall it end, at precept love’s begin!
Many be of the world, death’s reverse swirl…
Mind’s concepts bestow the worldly logic
sacred hearts bestow Spirit love’s logic
when mind assumes paranormal project
mind still tries to use it’s worldly logic…
First connect the mind to the heart, then start
paranormal armor, your love’s karma
love the absolute, mind is a lust coot
cares not for moral, loves strife of quarrels…
My answer to world’s problem is simple
concepts have become festering pimples
are separate and apart from love’s kind
mind’s problems of love would align in time…
Keep our concepts, all those devils in line
or our concept devils will forever whine
accusing our brothers of sins intertwine
brothers are fine, it’s our concepts that’s lyin…
God bless our darling hearts and inept minds
let us search within reigns of sacred hearts
bringing the two together, birds of feather
let precept love reign, twill end concept’s pain!!

Whither those songs of patriotism
Of which they so freely spoke?
They new-breeds have been fully clad
In old and worn-out costumes
The rickety customs are on the thrive!
Surely we are in a new heaven:
There many things must be amiss,
The old chant-songs of undue death,
Of rigorous riggers and their thugs,
Of vagabonds, vandals and more!
Where are the voters?
Those sands of men whose presence
Have been acknowledged in today’s books?
Voters indeed: they were there!
Isn’t today like former days?

I will protect you better than your best friend…
Use me in the dark or in the day, I am with you to the very end…
I am thin, colourful and compared to your might, I’m very strong…
In and out, nice and slow, gentle or hard – I will endure just as long…
I am your friendly protection…
Use me to your satisfaction…
From your pocket to your hardened rocket…
Into her heavenly abyss…
Pregnancy will be amiss…
I am here to safe guard from disease, your precious dome...
‘coz I am your lubricated friend – I am Mr Condom…

I would be amiss if I didn't acknowledge these
Reptiles in our fairy tales are real.
They're not fictionist.
This is so surreal.
I have something to reveal
Dragons do Exist!
I would be amiss if I didn't acknowledge these
Reptiles in our fairy tales are real.
I think it's a big deal
Because we coexist.
This is so surreal
These creatures have a magical and historical
Appeal.
Dragons live in South Africa, Indonesia, India,
Philipines, Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and in
Tropical rain forests in mist.
I would be amiss if I didn't acknowledge these
Reptiles in our fairy tales are real.
This is a big ordeal
I had to spread the news. I couldn't resist.
This is so surreal.
How do you feel?
To know this is not a gist.
I would be amiss if I didn't acknowledge these
Reptiles in our fairy tales are real.
This is so surreal.

You're my love, my song,
where I forever belong
I'd be amiss
if I didn't reminisce
about...your tender kiss
If stars could sing
of our eternal melody
they'd romp and dance
celebrate our romance
The planets would align
form a phenomenal design...
be painted and hued
and heavenly imbued
There's nowhere else
for me to abide
but in your caring arms
safely secure
in your love so pure...
Our unity is for eternity

Lyric
By Then It Be To Late
By Roy Merritt
I suppose it isn’t just people subject to intoxication
If your citizens all taking toxins apt be your nation
How eager a man be to martyr himself for a fool
How easy he lose his morals how easy he be cruel
It could never happen here that’s what I read
At least that’s what the title of Lewis’s book said
But indeed it did a huckster came to power
And led the nation from its principals turned them bitter, sour
H. L. Mencken said it best his words befitting of the times
His opinion of the common man how Mencken him defined
Democracy but a theory the common know his desire
And deserve it good and hard and never to retire
For no man ever went broke that underestimate
The taste of the average man his wont of crude debate
And though full of Puritan lust a fear haunts him long
That some be enjoying his life, family, love and home
Of course they not his words I merely paraphrase
But I think Mencken excuse me if he about these days
Give me some courtesy the benefit of the doubt
I essentially said the same thing he was on about
So lets see what we’ve got after four years of deception
Whether we sober up and develop some true perception
Whether we like many nations recent, in the past
And succumbed to tyranny fall victim to bombast
Many in times of pain when in depths of despair
Will fall for a fool's words and follow him anywhere
Will follow everywhere follow him to their doom
Will follow a lunatic who promise to end their gloom
They’ll follow him down the road follow to the abyss
And none along the way realize something be amiss
We love our leader they declare as poison they imbibe
And drink they will like Socrates the potion of suicide
Oh this hemlock simply fine it does me persuade
And I’ll enjoy every drop of it even unto the grave
But once beneath the ground and he has sealed his fate
He has no chance to recover his senses by then it be to late

Glass can be dangerous
when broken by a fall
it can have a sharp effect
whether large or small
Glass also can be beautiful
like as a mirror is
showing clearly what we are
nothing will be amiss
We indeed see ourselves
it is indeed as we are
because a mirror shows
everything even what was afar
Why do we look in the mirror
for we show we are vain
as beauty is only skin deep
indeed inside is our real stain

Blow me your heart in a kiss,
flipping wings like a butterfly,
until it lands bellow my eye -
your aiming cannot be amiss,
I stand ahead, on your sight,
you can always reach for me,
even if darker is the light,
the true track is ever free,
May your soul never forget:
I have made my heart
a board to be your target:
throw your sweetest dart…

Oh vow, thy love, eternally
A marriage filled with bliss.
Promise your heart beyond a kiss.
Together living strongly, we.
Sing out fulfillment rosy, dreamy.
Our royal goal, prince and princess –
Let not decisions be amiss.
Pledge now, forever-loyalty.
Let two hearts soar to merriment.
Embark with zest; set sights above.
Dwell in faith's arms, which heaven sent.
Let love rely on God…white dove.
My faithfulness shall not relent.
Please marry my eternal love.

Italian Sonnet
It was a typical Tuesday night,
And I was riding after dark;
The clouds had covered up the sky,
As I took a shortcut through the park;
I always took the same path,
Around the monkey bars;
There wasn’t a light to be found,
No moon and no stars;
Nothing seemed to be amiss,
As I continued on my way;
But I found myself wishing silently,
I’d gone home earlier in the day;
I found that very strange,
Since I usually don’t mind the night;
And I couldn’t help but think,
Something wasn’t quite right;
So I stopped my horse and listened,
But there’s not a sound to be heard;
And afraid to break the stillness,
I utter not a word;
My imagination is running wild,
And Lil’ can feel my dread;
She’s prancing to the side now,
Ears pricked at something ahead;
I’m trying to still my pounding heart,
But through my veins it’s spreading fear;
I struggle to maintain the silence,
As through the darkness we move near;
I can see something up there moving,
Stalking towards us through the night;
A horrible creature coming closer,
I pale to the purest white;
Then the animal walks into view,
Like it’s coming out of a fog;
And he lets out a happy bark,
The monster was my dog;
I’m feeling kind of stupid now,
Getting scared so easily;
Turns out the thing I need to fear,
Is the imagination trapped in me!

On such a night as this
I had my first love kiss
On such a night as this
Saw the dawn rise, what bliss
On such a night as this
Snuck out for a love tryst
On such a night as this
Cried through my first crisis
On such a night as this
A baby born to my sis
On such a night as this
It's beauty would not miss
On such a night as this
Nothing could be amiss

I'm the One to who you should pray;
I'm the Voice that shall never fade away,
I'm the Daemon that haunts your 3am sleep,
I'm the Whisper that eases your weep...
And in this novella, your lissome dreams,
I'm your nightmare; your midnight screams!
- I'm the Yeshua that can make pain fade,
I'm the abolition of the razorblade...
Clad in shadow I stalk your soul,
Invisible but yet in perfect control.
Thus let my voice be your destination
Away from a world with flawed harmonization.
So why cope with a life so bleak?
which has done nothing more but make you weak?
Take my hand and I'll assuage it,
Follow me down to Death's tethered pit...
Here we are, welcome to the Abyss,
Don't worry about people, you won't be amiss.
Give me a smile, a shotgun smile,
Don't worry about pain, atleast not for a while!
Aw, how your mind was delicately bent,
Like the Eye on the Earth's breast you'll descent,
Deep in it's crust, to Oblivion you fell;
A warm hearted welcome to Lucifer's Hell...

Pirates often take grapes from vines
When the fruits of love taste so divine
Ownership is of no concern
They bury treasures later upturned
They make cryptic maps, with subtle glues
They sail their ships, filled with booze
Wine, woman and song, their daily pleasure
Some would say, is that not the treasure?
If a woman would give you a kiss
Would not all treasure be amiss?
For real treasures you keep in your heart
And never let real lovers to part!!
Oh but a treasure map is and enticing thought
If it leads to places you thought naught
So here I lay a treasure before you
Never has a golden treasure been so true
As you

Light Verse
"There are fairies at the bottom of my garden"...from a song by Noel Coward.
In gardens, glens, and forest glades
That oft great banquet halls resemble,
On a summer's night,
If the moon is bright,
One might see fairy folk assemble.
One night, by purest happenstance,
I chanced by one such congregation.
I stood bespelled
At what I beheld
To be a fairy celebration.
But something seemed to be amiss,
Their demeanor was alarming.
No joyful tunes
Or ribald runes,
These fairy folk were mourning.
As I strained to hear, quite suddenly,
I kenned why they were grieving.
They keened and cried,
A fairy died
Because a human stopped believing.
It's no supernatural malady
Or some mysterious psychosis.
How fairies thrive
And stay alive
Is by simple symbiosis.
They need us to believe in them
To keep their ranks from falling.
And, yes, it's true,
We need them, too,
So listen for their calling.
May I never grow too old to dream,
May my heart, with age, not harden.
Then they'll not grieve
Whilst I believe
In the fairies in my garden.
I can hear their haunting music now,
Tantalizing and pulsating.
I must away,
I cannot stay,
My fairy folk are waiting.
