April Showers (Anacreontic Verse)

Putting the blame
on global warming
winter felt the pinch
rain was scarce
and spring arrived
lamenting its luck
unable to twirl
in habitual gown
of green satin
shyly tiptoeing
keeping a low
profile, feeling blue;
the wind intervened
encouraged her
with soothing words
to wait patiently;
providentially
dark clouds came
unexpectedly
and April showers
quenched thirsting soil;
spring breathed
in relief, able
to look ahead
unashamedly
in the knowledge
that May would
come, parading
delightful flowers
in abundance!

Anacreontic Verse

Winter has now passed,
tears drip from the sky
grey clouds hide the blue
it’s raining! I cry.
April showers
bring us welcomed rain,
our garden’s thirst
is quenched again.
Vibrant crocuses
of yellow and blue
peer through the soil.
Daffodils dance
in the warm spring breeze,
their golden pollen
may make you sneeze!
Terrific tulips
delight us
bursting with
jewelled colours of
purple, pink and red.
Cherry blossom falls
on a zephyr breeze,
resembling
pretty pink
wedding confetti
falling from the trees.

April Showers

Of first embrace and broken glass
I cherish that first spark
New light upon our forest' dark.

Do you recall that northern wind?
It came at first so swift
Perhaps our growing light enraged
Poor Hopelessness', her whims denied
Inspired shadows from retreat
Those having once left us in our light.

"There's hope for you!” her battle cries
“Forwards; towards the glowing night
Attack! The lion will not bite
I promise he will turn blind eyes
Go back! I will cover your eyes!”

“Follow storms winds descent
True path through forests dense
Enter hence.
Rip, tear, rent!
From low to high
Head to toes
Even to above
Where dark forest glows

Churn even these shades
Whites and grays
Yellows arrayed,
Where once were dulled

"My children do not stop there!"
She would say,
"You must inscribe them full
Lest unseen hopes, occupy as slivers
As pretending tones, they have been known to hide
Shimmers upon the edge of shades
We must leave them emptied, lost whims, denied
Their ways left as waste to ruins
Despairs do not relent with dooms
Leaving chance to sparks in time
Per chancing kindles from hearts that loom.”

“Descend, my raging opaque!
The dense itself engrave
Teach young love old lessons
That she may now know at such young age
The heart of this forest lessened.”

“Now go' my shadowed tails delight
Slice sharp paths without care
Cause those within their ears too bear
The roaring of fresh leaves…
Torn from their rightful place
Before the given time”

“Dying screams let them endure
Let them feel your shadows
….Purge!”

The cold so swift
We were so sure This was spring

........residues
Your body’s naked form, lovely
Dropping, encircling our flame
Dying breath
Woman’s instinct
Nurturing
Disregarding winds intent

Then came the rains' extinguishing
Saving coals
Your hands were warm
My feet were cold
I shiver at this memory.
…Rains cold intensity
The downpour overcoming
Me
I'm sorry I could not see
My circle enclosed circles now
Circling

I knew the dark complete

As our smoke heavenward arose
To late this pittance; ash offerings
Ashes on the ground

Then came the rivers rage
Cutting its path through the heart
Forever too leave
Forever leaving its mark
Upon our forest dark
Meandering on; its choosing path
And I with it beside; belonged
For a chosen time

My love again I say
For a chosen time
Do you understand?
I chose the time of days

My shame

April showers…
so welcomed
when our winter's
gone and done.
Snow dissolved
into the ground
to now await
the springtime sun.
Trees lift up
dry resting limbs,
wait for water
to awake
their dormant
curled up buds...
thirst-quenching
gift they take.
April showers
bring new flowers
sustenance
to help them grow;
hydrated soil,
nutrients
seep into
their new life flow.
Before our eyes
 blooms unfold…
their lovely scene!
April showers
majestically
fulfill spring's dream.

April Showers

With April showers gentle rain
From clouds of silver tinged with grey,
                                          Reflecting through the windowpane.

                                          Springtime weaves magic once again.
New life on earth grows day by day,
                                           With April showers gentle rain.

Spring sings again her sweet refrain!
                                           A chorus to natures bouquet.
                                           Reflecting through the windowpane,

                                           A sunlit rainbow will ordain,
                                           Springs crowning glory on display,
                                           With April showers gentle rain.

A shady glade a leafy lane,
                                           Adorned with flowers wild array.
                                           Reflecting through the windowpane,

That daily journey on the train,
Those changing scenes that throng the way.
                                            With April showers gentle rain,
                                            Reflecting through the windowpane.

Tender sprinkles
drizzles of vigor
April grants
roots of life
entwined seedlings
buds a bloomin'
Spring flourishes
slivers of sun
pansies sprout
splendid day lilies
peak with desire
unknown beauty
lying beneath
earth's tilted axis
eager to blend
May penetrates
mother nature
with her seasons
new life awoken
merging blossoms
pink lilies adored
daisies of yellow
florets embraced
alluring scents
stunning white roses
a lovely gift
for my sweetheart

Anacreontic verse

These April showers
will drown the flowers
and drive the tourists
all away.
The rainclouds hover.
They run for cover
and wish they'd waited
for a day.
But if thy stay for
only an hour,
they'll find that this
was just a shower.
It is for certain
we'll raise the curtain,
on fields of tulips
in bright array.
But April showers
are good for flowers.
Come back to see us
in sunny May.

Slant light lances
     stabbed through clouds
         of thick grey,
Wetness fills the sky
And falls on all.

~April Showers~
( Pensee Triple )

During
April showers fall
Flowers smile happy and bright
Roses and tulips bloom around
There is nothing like spring

Spring smiles
She gifts beauty
Brings with her renewal and hopes
Her beauty is very serene
Soft like butterfly's wings.

There's rain
All thru springtime
Showers brings us blooms and cheers
Sign to all of new beginnings
Time to dream and soar high.

Anacreontic Verse

I sit silent
within this moment
Not knowing
If you are willing
To touch me
in a way
that truly matters
For I need you
To caress my skin
For it has been
a long winter
of wanting
My skin glistens
April fresh
showered clean
for this reunion
Within my longing
My spirit knows
You don't sense my need
Although you feel close
There is a distance
Unmeasurable
Around your red glow
I feel sad blue
Please tell me
Why you keep hiding
Please break through dark clouds
gift me your yellow
Kiss me now
So that I "May" bloom!

Premium Member My Dirty White Dress

Today I was walking barefooted,
After a heavy thunderstorm had passed thru,
I was wearing a beautiful white cotton dress.

I suddenly stumbled upon a puddle,
A beautiful muddy puddle, I was instantly
drawn to its diameter and mysterious depths.

The top of the puddle was lying still,
ever so slightly rippling beneath reflections from the sun,
The sun peeking over my shoulder, while whispering..."go for it"

The birds were singing after the sudden down pour,
I swear a mocking bird was yelling at me... "just do it"

It was so tempting for me...I tell you...It was tempting me.

Should I?

I Immediately thought of my youth and my old muddy
yellow boots, and of all the times I tempted
fate and took that leap into the unknown depths
of muddum, and sometimes my bare feet got involved.

Not a second thought,
did I give on the matter,
as a youth your unable to ponder for too long,
while riding on the shirttails of sheer excitement.

My clothing soon became decorated,
in mud dots and whatnots,
matching my freckled face.

I rather enjoyed the splashes of mud,
made from the earth, and
the fresh rain, and the way my mother
looked at me as I entered her
newly cleaned kitchen floor,
and when she asked "what have you
been up to, your filthy! and my floor!"

However, I was a grown up now, and we as
grown ups don't do such childish things...right?

Yeah, Ok..Splash...now, let's go make some
beautiful mud pies!

The birds all sang..."we'll help!"...They're such Instigators!
