My Daddy played a trick on me
When I was just a tike
Asleep; I was in dreamland town
A 'riding on my bike
And suddenly! I hear a noise
A clanging sound it seems
It was my Dad with pots in hand
He's banging on the beams!
He's shouting out "Wake up! Wake up!
We're getting in the ride
It's time to go, no time to waste
We've got to get outside!
There are bees in here, they're everywhere
They're stinging all they see
Get in those clothes, hitch up your boots
It's time for us to flee!"
So up I jump, still in a daze
What happened to my bike?
Where are my clothes, can't find my boots
Oh my - this I don't like
We run outside; "Hey! Where's the car?
Dad woke us up you know
Those bees in there will sting for sure
It's time for us to go!"
My Dad's outside with teary eyes
From laughing all the way
He turns to us and with a grin
"It's April Fools today!"
A lways will I remember this day
P riceless memories are here to stay
R euniting with you
I ncredible and true
L ove and laughter will light our way
F oolish to think we could be apart
O nly you has possession of my heart
O bviously your mine
L avishly entwined
S ealed to each other, never to depart

Today's April Fools
And your pants are on fire.
Front page Tabloid news
Prying minds do Enquire.
It's April the 1st today
A day of jokes, laughter and pranks on each other.
It's April the 1st today
A day to act like fools
It's April the 1st today
A to pretend to be clowns
Happy April Fools Day to you!!!
Today’s a time for breaking rules
And telling jokes and playing pranks,
Since it’s the day of April Fools;
For warning you, I need no thanks.
Just be aware of what you hear
Or what you see or even read.
On April Fools’ the atmosphere
May swirl around with smiles we need.
The weather even seems confused –
First rain, then sun and later, storms,
With Mother Nature quite amused
As coats are shed from wind that warms.
Right now I’m soaking up the sun;
My calendar is newly flipped.
For what takes place ‘til day is done,
I think I’m fairly well-equipped.
April Fool’s Day
There’s still time to find jokes from think tanks
If family offers you a gift say no thanks
Not on April first
Family is the worst
Unless you’re not the brunt of all their pranks
Cinco De Mayo
Come join the fun on Cinco De Mayo
Latinos grab a bat and don’t be shy good fellow
Hang the Donald piñatas
We’ll serve up the Chiladas
Batter up, swing it hard, and aim down low
At the beginning of April,
We hear two things:
Joking around,
And hopping into spring
The "April Fools" concept,
It's a bit of a mess...
Everyone trying to
Exhibit some "finesse".
I've indeed been pranked,
At least once today.
But I don't think it's funny,
In the same type of way.
The second foolish aspect
It that "May flowers" will come.
But I live in Michigan,
So that's a little dumb.
So, in the end
I really don't understand.
Why April even exists
I say it be banned...
April is the month for fools,
At least today, the first,
When pranks are played and joking rules
As logic is reversed.
It’s been around for many years,
Observed both here and there,
With hoaxes ending not in tears
But laughter meant to share.
To get in spirit, pull a gag
To fool your kith or kin.
Shake off those doldrums - time to snag
That silliness within.
A cat on April Fools’, sleek and cool,
Found itself in a rather wet duel.
With a splash and a splosh,
In a fishbowl, it did wash,
Proving even a feline can be a fool!
A local business sent out mail
Which said, "We're all for Trump!"
I questioned if a nod from them
Would give a welcome bump.
But underneath the banner cry
The note said, "April Fools!
However, there's free shipping
When you order by the rules."
I chuckled at this little prank
But wondered if that poke
Would be perceived by Donald fans
As just a little joke.
April Fools Day remember that
Back in the olden days before I took naps
A young whipper-snapper
Full of vim and vigor
Played tricks on old people and all that crap
(This is a fictional poem)
My neighbor played an April fools' prank when he called me and said I won a
sweepstake.
I was furious when I learned it was all fake.
When he said April fools', you should've heard the names he got called.
I happen to be his barber and when he comes in my shop, I'm going to shave
him bald.
The warming
muzzle of sun
burrows into
budding souls
till wind changes--
turns its back,
broods, then touches
us cold
as temperatures
fall
and yes,
this is
the cruelest
month, the
naked temptress
of sateen summer.
There you are my April Fool
You're meant to be as me
When you can say you're only truth
is that you're left to be
When only you can say you're proof
of what was meant to be
When only you can say the truth
is that you're taught by we
