The Malkavian..Part 1

The Malkavian..Part 1

His mind has all the meaning of a madman that is screaming
Tortured and tormented, a life lived to be lamented
His family, drained and defeated, finally retreated
Leaving him believing that he was beyond redeeming
The doctors sent in talked of hope and healing
The drugs administered only made him more demented
Cementing the feeling, that his life is just an echo
Of the endless, timeless, all consuming screaming

His best friend is a dis-proportioned bird appropriately named Buddy
Who’s monotonous motion in drinking is somewhat soothing to his being
Though not potent enough to stop the persistent pounding of the screaming
Often he stared into the emptiness of nothingness contemplating the beauty of its
existence
Only to find his mind is drowning in a confounding conundrum he can’t quite define
It's hard to be philosophical when your mental testicles haven’t dropped to the appropriate
level
So sometimes he whispers tongue twisters until his brain blisters
Madmen mask madness in mindless task of mass mayhem

It was easy for him to pretend to be prim and proper
Just a mask to don in order to dupe his doctor
Circumventing the system that couldn't’t save him
He was as he always had been and would be
In constant pain and agony with no desire for sympathy
Just in need of some freedom from his prisons and medications
Meditations and mantras had given him a sentiment of a design
On how to inhibit the screaming and maybe even end it
\
Four years preparing and plotting the perfect moment of promise
A fire formed from a single flame fueled by an accelerant
Raced through the halls up the walls and killed all the residents
Eighty-eight inmates and staff burned alive in what seemed like and instant
Such little time to search through the bodies looking for a single person
He found her on the fourth floor clinging to the bathroom faucet
He lost his virginity to the burnt corpse of nurse Denise
And to his amazed mind he was astonished to find the screaming was silenced

Scarlett

Scarlett thought she was promised permanent security.
Satchels of resilience bound her fragile wrists.
Woodland deities hailed her.
Underworld demons feared her.
The curious townsfolk simply stood in contemplation -
Inviting epee's gleamed in their eyes
as the garden shears, in their hands, smiled.

Scarlett oft pretended she was Joan of Arc.
Threads of meshed titanium webbed her sheltered heart.
Sour Grimm moppets heralded her.
Skeptical fairy godmothers chastised her.
The relentless wheel of innocence spun without interruption.
Persnickety rogues sashayed in dumbed silence -
permitting their sordid counterparts unwelcomed invitations
into a void where reverend satchels are tragically punctured.

Scarlett donned spiked eye patches in her latter years.
Protective velour swatches masking mass and the masses.
Myths and urban legends empathized with her.
Gods and martyrs appropriately buried her.
The dumbfounded spirits circle Scarlett's broken window with raised eyebrows.
Quizzically staring at rotting barrels littered with skeins if shredded satchels -
yards if tainted fibers being hopelessly spun into yet another
dark, forgotten midnight.

Monday

"Monday Dreadful Monday"

Most people are terrified of its presence
Only this moment can be the most hated
No more time for r&r....that's reefer and rum
Damn it....if he even looks at me I will need to find some new religion
And it's not even football season yet
Y did i even set the alarm clock....somebody make it STOPPPP!!!!

Do you watch the morning news
Reality check, why can't I find my shoes
Enter me back to the world where I must follow rules
Are there any sane people who don't think Trump is a fool
Dare I say that he is the biggest tool
First of all, his toupee ain't close to cool
Under his direction, we are fed a bull's stool
Like it or not, those IDIOTS elected a goule

Man, many make more mistakes
Only original ordinary organs orchestrate obediance
Nothing necessary needs new nihilism
Don't demand daily dreadful decisions
And are all actions appropriately and angrily aimed at apocolypse
Yes, you yearn yearly yet Yahweh yells yin young yang

A Respectable Tree

The tree of my ritual was old and tall,
though not a true giant;
the next one may be, but needn't.
It possessed consequence in its bough
and the places around it,
which may have been occupied
for one of any number of reasons.
It was a fine tree, and my ritual was,
I hoped, appropriately reverent.
Respectful, yet uneasily godless,
my incantations whispered
with the light and gravity of the shade.
Hopeful, yet sorrowfully faithless,
my supplications revolved patiently
and drifted irreversibly into the air,
seeped deep beyond the bark,
sank into the soil and the root.
Godless as I was, I would not pass up
a fancy of random thought;
if it was a fancy of still unknown truth,
it would need nurture,
dutifully I would nurture.
Only such a tree could be worthy
of such faithless supplication.

Premium Member Speaking of Flowers

Flowers speak
the Gladiola is never sad
says words with a smile.

Tulips are the pun
not one but...
sound it out, you'll see.

Daisies reveal secrets
she loves me,
she loves me not.

Buttercups
lay it on thick
compliment everyone.

Carnations rev their engines.
Express themsleves from land to land.

Freesias
my personal favorites
blow a fragrant line.

Sweet Peas,
are still babies
they're still learning.

Patience wait
as long as they need to
before they speak.

Snapdragons
can fly off the handle
but please forgive them

Orchids tend to fib
are they adults Or .....!

Bluebells sing
a soulful tune
and I love the blues.

Paper Whites appropriately
recite their written words.

Roses bloom
the most beautiful
of words.

But the best flowers of all
don't need to say a word.
With love you gift them
a bouquet of their faves
as they gently kiss your lips!

I Have My Own Problems To Deal With

They come to me with their tall tales.
I pretend to listen to their fables
Appropriately sad, I say
It's well my sister.
Everything will be fine
I say it like I truly mean it.
The truth is,
I have my own problems to deal with.

People throw banters and enquire about each other
They act like they mean well for you.
Can I get a little change from you.
I haven't paid my school fees.
My rent is still outstanding
They turn their backs
 And say
I have my own problems to deal with.

We love to talk about ourselves,
Who will listen
Who wants to listen to your problems
Half of the time your talking, their mind is elsewhere
Halfheartedly paying attention to your rants
At the back of their minds, they scoff
And say,
I have my own problems to deal with.

Thank you for listening you say gratefully
My dear, your welcome.
Anything for you, they lie
They roll their eyes behind you
Who wants to carry another person's burden
Who wants to listen to your secrets?
Who wants to keep your secrets by the way?
I'll pass they say,
I have my own problems to deal with.

Insane

Defiantly I admonish you to just leave me alone,
Stop following me incessantly like a rowdy foe.
How forcefully must I tell, you've lost your soul,
Your sinister ways to love me I do not condone.

You shadow my presence everywhere I go
Blatantly invading every peaceful place I know.
Lurking around my private life in public places,
Posting online photos and ugly lewd messages.

If you're ever spotted at my kids' school again
You can be sure I will file a police complaint,
Quite often have I warned you to back away
Yet you keep treating me like I'm your prey.

One day you called my wife on a falls pretense,
Now you treat her like she's your best friend
Spreading lies intently to prejudice her mind
Encroaching on our daily lives in ways unkind.

You joined our church, though you live far away,
I hear you'll volunteer at school every Monday.
Now I am distressed by your manipulative ways,
Prompting me to take action to deter your sway.

At the height of insanity you finally lost control,
Quite appropriately you must soon pay a toll
As you sit in jail awaiting sentence for your crime
For you tried to hire a hit-man to kill my wife.

Generative Persistence

Generative Persistence

Give it a name; “generative presence”, “persistence”
Emergent with life, feeling and a pulse
Send it on its way while clinging to the egg
Enable it from a distance to become of use
Keep yourself in a suggestive cocoon
State of fixation, enameled in stasis
Embedded in concrete reality if only to form
Wrapped in patterns, in sequences, in character, in disarray
Care to be objective, immersive, informative, and inspired
Decline to describe, suggest, discuss, gaps between life
Grasp the past meandering. Record the record of history
Understand; you are a guest in your own home
In your own existence; fantasies not included
Invoke the yoke of yellow, involve useful dialogue
Desirable, normal, absurd diagnosis of that which is
Adapt to youth as it passes
Glanced at by events unfolding, reflected in a mirror
Placed appropriately in your path
From the context, content of that which is perceived
In the persistence of memory let it live

Premium Member The Dragon Slayer

“Slay me a dragon,” a maiden requested
“ I will, I will!” he said.
And he did, and the maiden was
 Appropriately appreciative.

And time went by….

This time the maiden asked for
diamonds and pearls.
He thought for a moment,
remembering her charms.
“ I will find you a treasure”
he said..and he did.
But the maiden was tired and only
had time for a quick kiss
And thank you…

And more time went by….

No longer a maiden, her luster fading
.she begged him to “ take out the trash”.
He did, grudgingly, asking for his just
reward.”please, dragon steak for dinner”
and she obediently complied.

And time went by….

One day he found himself under the apple tree,
kissing the baker’s beautiful daughter.
“Slay me a dragon,” she asked… “ I will, I will,” he said.

And so it goes…

My Attempt At Poetry

Dedicated to all Soup poets and muse - please continue to help and thank you.

I didn’t know how to write poetry as I was new,
only 6 months in the poetry game so no shame,
many a day after writing I was feeling blue,
I thought I was stupid and everybody was to blame.

Met amazing people here and their care is free,
apparently it’s a rhyming thing or not,
it was driving me up the bloody tree,
thanks to all the positive input I got.

I now know more or less what is required,
I tried “Monoku” oh my, what a mess I made,
struggling to write at work almost got fired,
I was so embarrassed, under my desk I laid.

I tried to write a “Haiku”, I cant even say the word,
but nevertheless I tried, what a load of pooh,
valuable comments but almost meant how absurd,
I know why poets go crazy, and what they go through

I tried to write a “Kimo”, hey whatever,
what the hell is that supposed to mean,
but stuck to my guns and did endeavour,
produced what I thought was clever and clean.

I tried to write a “Verse”, was told to call it that,
submitted to contest, no comments, but N/A, again,
like I was talking to a stranger and saying sorry you just spat,
re-looked at my poems, I’m too stupid to give up and I’m vain.

I tried to write a “Sonnet” about my new sweetheart,
apparently it has only fourteen lines and limited syllables,
took so long she almost left me with a new broken heart,
no fuel in my car, and all the McDonald bills.

I tried to write a “limerick” an apparent popular form,
this is supposed to be funny have rhythm and rhyme,
previously for me anything that rhymed was the norm,
for that my English teacher should be smacked for his crime.

Finally I realised that its not just poetry but expressing life,
all you appreciate, love, you find funny and even hate,
your inner feelings, emotions, caring and your strife,
the special people on this site that help and patiently rate.

Now I do endure to write, and appreciate all and thank all,
for their positive input and renaming my form appropriately,
If my poem does not make it in any way or at all,
I don’t care because I am learning and will continue patiently.

Yes I do know the form is supposed to be "Rhyme" not "I do not know" - that is one of the intentions of the poem

Pagkamakabayan: Patriotism

'Tis intangible
Unlike the spears and the guns
Of the daughters and the sons
Unconquerable
But partly they symbolize
Its abstraction ere our eyes

The time has passed by
And the world has also turned
From chaos into concord
Now we say goodbye
To old discrimination
Racism and commotion

There's a new picture
That appropriately depicts
Our genuine love and respect
For our own culture --
Raising our right hand to pledge
And doing our job with badge

Not Harvest Thanksgiving

I do so love harvest thanksgiving,
That time of year which celebrates agriculture,
When church flips from being god-centred,
To remembering farmers and good food manufacture.

It’s not an Armenian or Amish allusion,
‘Cos tins are given no problem;
Natural remedies aren’t primed as better,
Than medicines, to the mind and body superior.

As a child who regretfully attended church,
I thought on that day of poverty and Christian giving:
That their offer was kind of a respectable food bank,
A silent redistribution of wealth, income and living.

No food bank is respectable, of course,
But they can channel wealth efficiently and appropriately;
And that the Church offers such for just one day,
Should be celebrated as a positive sign most definitely.

God is sometimes just such an abstraction,
Academically, he’s for the objective mind;
He’s not comforting when your needs are just so real:
Physical, emotional, psychological: he can be so unkind.

When you just need a meal on the table,
And need it supplied by someone else,
Whether by government, food bank or church,
It’s a person that's there, not divine impulse.

I thought it was moral to impose that on believers,
As a kid who just so wanted to talk and shoot,
About real mechanisms, real structures and methods,
Which made life’s systems, dynamics, art and roots.

Being grateful for food, diet and health,
Eclipses salvation humility and responce;
Eternal purpose lays as distant and non-tangible,
To people and belongings which have an unimpeachable force.

Farmers need to be remembered, given relevance,
For their labour, dedication and sheer love of the job;
It’s that occupation and training which ensures,
Our basic daily needs are met not just with contours.

The harvest basket every year means to me hope,
Nourishment for those who starve and scrape;
Church wealth rides so high and mighty on average,
That this real examination is something to advocate.

Who Am I

So they call me sister
Um hum, they think they know my name
I think I got him now check the game
What’s up baby?
How you doing?
What’s your name?
They call me Exotica cause I roll with a lot of `em
What you know `bout that?
Oh no I don’t need no ride
What about you, hop in mine
I’m so fine baby no he rolling with a dime
You don’t have to call me later lets do this now
No sense procrastinating
I know how you get down
You want my body over my mind
We don’t need to talk intellectually
Everything we do is sexually
Oh sure you can call me tomorrow
And we’ll do it all over
This time I might invite a friend
A ménage à trois
Not just me and you no mo’
You think I’m great
This friend will never let you escape
She’ll be on your mind all the time
She will make you scream
Having pleasure like in a 14 year old boys dream
We’ll even go to the club with you
Help you size up your next victim
They’ll never know where together
Our disguises are very cleaver
We go incognito every time we roll
We’ll be a part of you forever
`til death
do us part
We can travel the world together
Leaving our mark
Making people blind with out inseparable love
Making couples break up
Because
They hate
that we gave them a taste of our
night long lasting burning passion
Some people’s skin will itch
Others will get a tingle
When we welcome them to our circle of forever
Now that we are all acquainted and I’ve found a new home
You don’t have to call me Exotica now that I gotcha
More appropriately
YOU GOT ME
Let me share with you my other names
These are what others have called me
In my previous games
Syphilis
Chlamydia
Gonorrhea
Herpes Simplex 2
AIDS
All STD
And don’t forget to tell your friends about me
They can get me too I’m very contagious
And I don’t discriminate
I take `em 16
25
40
Even not yet born
I run like a river through your blood stream
I make you ache wishing you’d never crossed my path
I sometimes laugh
At people who think they can escape
Because they really don’t want to
If they did they’d pay better attention and break the chain
By communicating with others
How they have suffered
From my wrath
I am STD the sexually transmitted disease
