Premium Member Ignorance Is Bliss

… where ignorance is bliss, / ‘Tis folly to be wise.

Informed about the choices—
the mainstay o’ adulthood—
we often smother voices;
in good stead they have stood.
Grapple with, analyse
a destination grim:
a web of intrigue; lies
which we quote verbatim.
Some opportunities
present itself to us
with practicalities.
We often wish to cuss,
but many chances missed
in pursuit of prize.
Where ignorance is bliss,
‘tis folly to be wise.

The quote is from the final stanza of Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College, by Thomas Gray (1716–71).
This is an example of gnomic poetry.

Good Morning Aphorism From Doctor Deo

During 30 days of discipline (4 hour prayer in Johannesburg for all of August 2019), God's Holy Spirit led me to inspire "tired" prayer warriors:

"Good Morning! The reason it is GOOD morning, folks, is:
"Because God is GOOD to us, to Creation, we will have a good morning. If God is not good, you cannot hope for a good morning."

So, I may often say, "GOD MORNING," instead of good morning. In North America, I might be called "corny" for saying this ... but after you dwell on this "SPIRIT thought" - I could not really create it - you will be en-LIGHT-ened. PTL

I'D Like Be Flying With the Wind

I'd like be flying with the wind
to find new shores, I'd like to flee,
But there is contradiction fiend:
I always take myself with me.

I'D Like To Catch the Rainbow Tail

I'd like to catch the rainbow tail,
But hope is nothing for the reason
And graveyard's full of dreams (they fail)
And wonders are there like in prison.

Sometimes We Are Too Wise

I don't want to advise,
I do not make conclusions,
Sometimes we are too wise
for obvious solutions.

Aphorism

You abolished the golden rule
No, this is not a lesson
You would learn in school
An assignment taught by life
And that is treating others justifiable
You have inverted
My vitality...in a measure
Meanwhile....you neglected
This earthen treasure
Damn your remorseful regret
You can find another
Who will not attest
To your womanizing and disrespectful ways
The treatment of your mate
Was more than I could ever take
So good luck to your next victim
Soon they will understand
Life with you can be deadly
And will be begging for immunity
Because of the unfortunate opportunity
Of being in a relationship with you
Sad to say it is only bad news
You never follow the golden rule
