Best Adulations Poems

Premium Member My Motivations In Poetry
My love of poetry started when I was still a five- year old child
When my parents asked me to memorize verses and rhymes
With all my feelings and actions, I recited my poems in front of a crowd
Innocently receiving adulations but not a handful of dime

The...

My Abuser Raves
It was a small school community,
Close and cliquish, but a special one,
For physically disabled people, kids,
And so sometimes it was fun.

But we were paired informally, by the school’s ethos done,
For those serious friendship conversations;
About disability and our societal position,
And for considering what...

Pamplona - Spanish Septet
The running of the bulls in Pamplona
Is part of the San Fermin Festival
What excitement awaits the mayor’s call
To win accolades is “muy bona”
Escaping bull’s piercing horns is daring
Runners like the danger they are sharing
They seek prize, adulations “corona”....

Disgrace
Disgrace
Surrounded by adulations, you flaunt your expectations.
Undue repercussions, desiring gratuitous acknowledgement of your affluence and good fortune.
Reminders of turbulent open tribulations, slamming the door and watching you crestfallen as you fall from grace.
What you call a miracle intervention when really you should...

Premium Member In Your Arms
I lay my head on your shoulder
Think back when we were less older
Then we boldly flaunted our youth
Carefree living on love and truth
In a frenzy the years flew by
Our bond grew stronger neath a sigh
We laid those solid foundations
For well earned adulations

Submitted on January 17,...

Ignited
Roots steadied as bark hugged my foundations,
No thought of criticism’s evil eyes of lust,
My mind and body comforted in adulations,
In humankind and gentle tenors did I trust;
No god to devoid me of light and meaning,
My essence laughed and yet still...

Don’t Love Me Too Much.

Don’t love me too much.
It is a smothering pillow, please
I can barely breathe.
You won’t let up
with your passionate touches,
your obsessed adulations on reverent knees,
your addled worship of every step I take
in your adoring presence; I must escape
your never-ending pining...

Life is all a blur,
the hopes, the dreams, the goals
wishes upon wishes whether real or imagined

illusions, intrusions, confusions
love's conquered...love's lost
exhalations, miscalculations, adulations
"life is but a dream"...until it isn't

fragments of thoughts start on lonely highways
tear stained shirts are worn on the edge of night
time...

Turn Around
To many adulations
Ecstatic feeling of overjoy
Joy unbetold
The dancing
The intermittent sigh of relief.
The bringer of good tidings
Is at it again.

He works magic for the indigent,
No man was born less fortunate
But some were born luckier.

When conditions start changing
When misery has ceased
The fluctuations of resource
ebbed,
A turnaround...

Attitude with latitude
Attitude with latitude

and tension defines the dynamic

Valiant prince sip pulled effort
rebuffed, snubbed, thumbed
courtesy eldest daughter
uncontested vainglorious woke
mine genuine apology,
viz sincerely yours truly
psyche asper paternal overture
toward aforementioned offspring
smitten with opprobrium
figuratively smacked upside the head
delivered sucker (judy shuss) punch
crashing off "FAKE" pedestal,
