Best Adulations Poems
My love of poetry started when I was still a five- year old child
When my parents asked me to memorize verses and rhymes
With all my feelings and actions, I recited my poems in front of a crowd
Innocently receiving adulations but not a handful of dime
The first piece I memorized was entitled, “Cradle Hymn”
I was a small girl sent in a poem competition, so naïve
When I’ve grown up , I realized it’s a song lyric with Christmas theme
So, I sang it and started to develop my good voice quite a bit
When I was a teenager, I memorized speech and declamation pieces
My teacher sent me in a poem contest for a campaign against drug addiction
I tried to deliver my piece like a candidate for a star award actress
Acting like a drug addict teenage girl longing for parents’ love and attention
As years went by, I turned out to be quite a flirty lady
With puppy love and sweet crushes to some guys around me
When one of them got me, so happy until I forgot all about reciting poetry
Relationship went long but when we broke up, it created another life’s story
All my heart brokenness has turned me out to be a poem writer
I also wrote few poems for my family, dreams and for close friends’ requests
My passion of poetry blazed and turned out to be greater
When I found a writing spot, motivated and inspired by my friends-the great poets

The running of the bulls in Pamplona
Is part of the San Fermin Festival
What excitement awaits the mayor’s call
To win accolades is “muy bona”
Escaping bull’s piercing horns is daring
Runners like the danger they are sharing
They seek prize, adulations “corona”.
Disgrace
Surrounded by adulations, you flaunt your expectations.
Undue repercussions, desiring gratuitous acknowledgement of your affluence and good fortune.
Reminders of turbulent open tribulations, slamming the door and watching you crestfallen as you fall from grace.
What you call a miracle intervention when really you should do penance for the chaos unleashed.
Pedantic overflow snuffs out my exhilaration.
Is my preoccupation really but a side effect of my own disgrace?
I lay my head on your shoulder
Think back when we were less older
Then we boldly flaunted our youth
Carefree living on love and truth
In a frenzy the years flew by
Our bond grew stronger neath a sigh
We laid those solid foundations
For well earned adulations

Roots steadied as bark hugged my foundations,
No thought of criticism’s evil eyes of lust,
My mind and body comforted in adulations,
In humankind and gentle tenors did I trust;
No god to devoid me of light and meaning,
My essence laughed and yet still asked to be expressed,
All my limbs, arms and two legs, juiced in feeling,
And my spirit did not then need to be dressed.
I was respected by my opportunity which alighted,
Into my night, swept up my distance with its heart,
And my new relationships listened and delighted,
In my determined effort, my awkward leap and dart;
I was filled with regality, drenched in truth,
I had felt so parched of water in my youth.
Don’t Love Me Too Much.
Don’t love me too much.
It is a smothering pillow, please
I can barely breathe.
You won’t let up
with your passionate touches,
your obsessed adulations on reverent knees,
your addled worship of every step I take
in your adoring presence; I must escape
your never-ending pining
for my next breath upon your nape;
Kindly keep your distance and do not touch,
for you are loving me too much!
Don’t love me too much.
It is a paralyzing chain;
I cannot move here or there.
You will not refrain,
with your intense devotions,
your never-ending fawnings and motions,
with pipe, slippers and loveful extollings.
You refuse to, at last, pause
with your obvious obsequiousness, sitting there,
with manicured fingers swirling through my hair.
Kindly keep your distance and do not touch,
for you are loving me too much.
To many adulations
Ecstatic feeling of overjoy
Joy unbetold
The dancing
The intermittent sigh of relief.
The bringer of good tidings
Is at it again.
He works magic for the indigent,
No man was born less fortunate
But some were born luckier.
When conditions start changing
When misery has ceased
The fluctuations of resource
ebbed,
A turnaround is here with us.
When life gets tastier
And sorrow grows wearier.
My joy knows no bounds
My ululation
Unfathomable
The fastidious stamping of feet
The unrehearsed dance.
Come,
Join me and dance
For I have arrived.
Life is all a blur,
the hopes, the dreams, the goals
wishes upon wishes whether real or imagined
illusions, intrusions, confusions
love's conquered...love's lost
exhalations, miscalculations, adulations
"life is but a dream"...until it isn't
fragments of thoughts start on lonely highways
tear stained shirts are worn on the edge of night
time capsules are buried at the end of the byways
whether decisions were wrong or right
in the blink of an eye
life rushes across the stage to hit its mark
and plays in every scene
squanders and excepts every emotion's outcry
etched in the face... until the curtain drops
and the lamplights turn dark and spent
leaving the sweat of time dripping upon the ground
left to vanish in recollected lament
of how quick it all was
