Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Adagio Cantabile
For Sagita

Have you ever asked yourself
If you've had the wind
As a boon companion
For your brief journey, life
Whether you push your days
Like a long-suffering Sisyphus
Or if they force you
Towards huge horizons
If you've ever seized the sky
To hold in your palm
Like...

Adagio of Rain
A soft rain taps,
On the surface of the leaves.
Soothing the forest to slumber,
From the cantata of rainfall.

Thunder accompanies the mood,
Relaxed winds caress the mist,
As the tapping is invigorated.

Harmonious drips resonate,
Trickling the movement’s ambiance.
With a balanced aria of sprinkles and pats.

The lightening flickers...sending,
The heavy splatter into...

Adagio
Newborn hair
sweeping the world aloud,
she moves easily,
frail fire.

and I've cast and will cast
the spectrum's of my reflections
in the element-
ed blink of thousands.

Slowly catching curves
with winding
through the one,
my only,
inexplicable
adagio....

Adagio In One Time
Adagio in One Time

From the smooth plastered wall behind her,
Albinoni’s adagio drummed faintly like a heartbeat.
‘Who are you’, when startled awake by the touch of his hand,
were the first words she spoke.

A stained and tattered children’s toy, a rabbit lay
in the folds of her blanket...

Adagio
These shadows lengthen evening,
virescent and plum in that certain solemnity.

Do not think twice about the unthinkable,
it is a slow slide to an uneasy finish.

That certain order of the oleander is never clear,
it is not death, but life we fear....

Epochal courses a tamed countryside,
Spectacle sparkles glowing trees and boughs,
Pedestal weights and measures counter slide,
Sensible enshrine flexible reigned bows.

A sentinel taps chords and ivories,
The typical lose blues and notes the muse,
The miracle resonates mute carries,
A mythical being awaits its dues.

As Bach spirited his classical piece,
Some...

Adagio, En Haut
May we rise like the chords of time
That hasten us into your greatness

Let my body’s brittle bones
Become refined

Sharpen me, madres!
Into the warrior I need the most

Valencia in springtime
Share the same sting

May we bloom in this darkness
And bear our burden’s light

Heavy is this weight we...

Adagio
White rain
Falling
Like grains of rice
Feather-like
And frozen

Innocent, born in a breath
Bare, the new will replace the death

Weightless
Thoughtless
Senseless
Cold
Clean
Nothing here grown
Nothing in between
Only Adagio

Day, and Night
by Michael R. Burch

The moon exposes pockmarked scars of craters;
her visage, veiled by willows, palely looms.
And we who rise each day to grind a living,
dream each scented night of such perfumes
as drew us to the window, to the moonlight,
when all the earth...

Love Like You Mean-It
Ain't that
What ah-man
Supposed to do
Treat you right and
Take care of you
Be there
And love you too
Baby
I'll take care of you
Some people believe
In loving the one you're
With
I ain't down on that shift
Making you laugh til
Your moodiness is gone
Maybe it right
Maybe its wrong

What Whispers Morning
What whispers speak such
that entangled with others
I chose you as mine

What words allow me yours
I do; I do, might I speak you
As mine

Neither am I hard to obtain
or do I lack interest in you
Might your begging make me
eager to resist.

Might my words be heard
and my...
