Best 21 Poems

Twenty first of October in two thousand and eighteen
Was the worst disaster poetry soup had seen
Poems wiped off the website as all the poets slept
When the disaster unfolded many poets wept.

Some had spent hours composing their verses
But no backup made, the air soon filled with curses
Contest entries too vanished without trace
Sponsors left fuming they had nothing to place.

And the beautiful comments people said about you
Into a cyber space black hole they all vanished too
The next night the poems, to everyone’s dismay
Returned to the site, ‘twas like Groundhog day.

Some blamed the Russians, some blamed the C.I.A.
Others wanted revenge for what happened that day
But do rest assured, soup said “have no fear
Free membership for everyone, for a whole year”

Now that’s a kind act I’m sure you’ll agree
Remember worse disasters have happened at sea
The moral of this verse is to remind everyone
Make a backup of your work when it is done.

(This did happen, not sure about the free membership though lol.
But it is a wake up call; always back up your work.)

The world as we know it will end!
This warning the Mayans did send
But yes there's still time
After reading this rhyme
To honor Black Friday and spend

My bed is lonely
the glow of your naked body
                                  The winter breathes on me

Premium Member Aberfan Disaster 21st October 1966

If you ever visit South Wales do go and see
The location of what was an awful tragedy
Famous for the wrong reasons the town of Aberfan
Suffered an unspeakable horror that was caused by man.

On the twenty first of October at nine fifteen
Was the worst mining disaster that Wales had ever seen
A spoil tip that had been piled high just above the town
Was loosened by rainwater and came crashing down.

Pantglas junior school was just below in its path
Children ready for lessons at their desks' they were sat
The tip hit the school a hundred and forty four died
When the news was released the whole nation cried.

Volunteers came and they dug down quite deep
The teachers and children were already 'asleep'
A farmhouse and cottages with people inside
They too lost their lives in the thundering mudslide.

In the horrific events twenty five did survive
Were found by the rescuers shocked but alive
Painful memories they have of what happened that day
It's a terrible burden they carry that won't go away.

A memorial garden marks the spot where they died
And on a hillside they're buried side by side
Their little white markers are harrowing to see
A stark reminder of that awful tragedy.

(Dedicated to all those who lost their lives at
Aberfan on that fateful morning of 21st October 1966)

Written on 21st November 2017.

Premium Member For To Me To Live Is Christ - Philippians 1: 21

For to me to live is Christ
here the apostle Paul speaks in faith
showing who he believes upon
this true confession he indeed saith

What does this mean for you?
where is Christ in your life?
give the highest place to the Lord
where God cuts through His knife

Hold not to the pleasures of life
for it can't satisfy your inner being
the spirit within seeks to fill
revealing the Lord in full agreeing

Keep close to the Lord God
live for Him before all else
knowing death will be such gain
receiving heavens done so well!

" For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."

Don't grieve for me here on the attic shelf;
we're joined infinitely as one, you said.
In an old moldy box now, by myself;
my place was there tucked well under your bed.

Don't grieve for me here within the dark dread;
the days and nights meld together as one.
Reflect on happy times, with stronger tread;
sweet dreams now reign as dead leaves in the sun.

Memories fade away after you're done;
the old just crumble away into dust.
Remember all the mountain trails we'd run?
Fear, you showed none, only honor and trust.

Don't grieve I'm here above your clarinet;
on the top shelf, right beside your train set.

Let’s get rid of all the people
starting with the old
no one will suspect
we could be so bold.

We’ll track their every movement
wouldn’t that be neat
then we’ll go and target
the one’s still eating meat.

Convince them they’re all different
inclusion was a bust
and other than the demi-gods
there’s no one you can trust.

By the time they catch on
claim they’re purely woke
they’ll be but the punchline
to this planetary joke.

So, wear your masks, walk your dogs
pick up after them
knowing all would be just fine
if it hadn’t been for H I M

21 St. Century

Show down.
Eye to eye,
Tears sweat from it's cheek.
Little bit of a shake in the bodily wise.
"You can't do this to me! Speak in that tone of voice!"
"Look around. They'll think you're insane!"
"Get back in line!"
Cirlcing my lens sight about,
Seeing the expression of anguish hysteria in the norm,
The air is now poisoned with agony emotions.
Who can escape?
High noon like never seen before.
"Don't come any closer!"
"Do you know who I am? 21 St. Century."
"You live in me."
"Play by the rules, be quiet, and take it like a man!"
Smiling infinity within me.
"No! Do not walk away like that!"
"You need me!"
Turn with final words of free,
"Who needs who?"
"Time. A lonely place without man. Better thank the One who keeps you in His
Hands."
"As for me. Better things to do. Live on Earth in her humbleness."
"By the way, shut off the light before you leave. Too late! The roundabout living are
your witnesses that it was done long ago."

(Thank you Jill Martin for your comments on "Blank Screen". Your comments
fired me up to write this one.)

Me Against the World

I'm a sad flower
A beautiful mess
A flawed human I guess
But I'm doing my best
To not ruin your expectations
First it was Elepe and fun
Then GAA and pun
Now the fun and pun are gone
There was a time I felt Indispensible
Everyone said I was sensible
I was unadvoidable and unbeatable
Now, Treasure won't reply my messages
Maybe she feels I still savages
I remembered she warned to stop
But I declined because I felt I was on top
Evangeline won't accept my friend request
Maybe she thinks I'm not the best
or I'm just an amateur like Sergino Dest
Maybe I'm just like the rest
Kenny and T-gentle are now on ghost mode
The new them are cold and code
Whereas the old them where my gold
Divine thinks I now snubs her
If only she knew she means a lot on paper
And that she is one of those few I won't banter
Even when she piss me off like my sister
The hype are gone
It seems Mr fame have withdrawn
Our vision Twenty-One contract was never born
My BITE have move on
The only one who still believes is Philip
From childhood to adulthood we still got a tight friendship
There are times we throw fist when we discuss premiership
But I guess that is the spirit of comradeship
I know the world don't give a about my punchlines
But they would when I start making headlines
By then your call would be buzzing my phone lines
And I would only pick it up when it is nearing the deadlines
