Premium MemberI Begged Her

Our art teacher was half our age
He had his job because his father was Hubie,
As head art teacher.
Our guy, Mr.D was a newbie

Mr D begged us to put our latest paintings in the art show.
Kathy and I did this immediately to help him out and a possible win.
Nellie, our carmate who had talked nonstop about how great hers was
Said “No.”
I kept begging her and begging her so she finally gave in.

Mr D was overjoyed. He ran to the judges with our 3 paintings.
Came back with one. Apparently Nellie’s did not make the cut
Her face got red she glared at me and she clamped up her mouth.
If you think the 79 mile ride home was fun...anything but.

When Thirsty Earth Begged Its Brother Sky

When thirsty Earth cries, for much needed rain
Sky beams ever brighter, said not again.
Why cry thus to me, ask your mortal men,
they steal your bounty and live in dark sin?

Earth heard and let out more desperate moans
Sky rumbled back, no rain in clear tones.
Earth begged oceans and forests to plead
please ask brother Sky to fill our great need.

Again Sky answered with angrier sounds
told Earth, stop men from going out of bounds.
Earth moaned louder and then pleaded some more
asking Sky, some rain please, this I implore.

Later Earth and brother Sky came to terms
rains came so heavy, it woke sleeping worms!

I Begged For You

I sit on this park bench rain pouring down,

people hurrying by, with umbrellas up

going to and from the shops in town,

sitting here with my dog, I'm holding a cup

a little girl watched by her protective mother

approached me with her small hand clasped

into my cup she drops a coin then another

She looks at me and smiles, happy? she asked,

with a tear in my eye, due to her compassion,

I'm cold, wet, hungry, smelly, no, not happy

then looking into my cup with anticipation

what I saw didn't disappoint, I'm a lucky chappie,

not a coin but a locket with an amazing picture

a picture of my late wife, she was my soul mate,

I looked up, I had a feeling of being much richer

the girl and her mother were going through the gate

I felt at peace, warm, dry, clean and content,

next to me wasn't my dog but my beautiful wife

then I came to realise this wonderful event,

we were together again in heaven to start a new life.

Honesty Begged An Answer

Honesty begged an answer
from me it asked impossibility

Forgetting my place within time
I spoke the truth, almost benign

Thunder split the world within
First a crack then a fissure

Old souls cried a sorrowful song
and blood-drenched the lids of eyes

Knowing truth as some may say
is keener than a sharpened blade

Sometimes best to hear a wind
than feel the storm of emotional pain

Cried and Begged

My eyes cried and begged
Just as gulls begged
When missed the last wave
Flew high and absent
Behind the frontier

My eyes cried and the years
Fell apart in front of my eyes
While I am spinning, spinning
And cold will kill me
If the dawn came late and
Rooster - fell into sleep and my
Mom forgot to light up "tanour"

Oh fatigue beds,
Oh swarms Gulls,
Oh the smell of hot bread
How "tanour" extinguished!
How my Mom died!
How light turned off, in the house?

Limerick : Once an Orphan begged at the Town Hall

Once an Orphan begged at the Town Hall
The Mayor thought he had better bawl
So he had him bawled out
And nearly used his clout
When the Orphan bawled : « See ! Who wants it all ! »

I Begged the Night To Stay

Sassing the night
As it took flight.
"Too soon!" I cried,
Yet it did not linger,
Drifting into dawn,
Soon you were gone...
The dream ended!

Begged, Stolen and Borrowed

I don't havea clue where I'll be tomorrow,
Feel I'm living on time begged, stolen and borrowed.
This path I am on as it twists and it turns,
Has me searching for answers,
Yet, finding more questions,
And very hard lessons to learn.

The me that I was, no longer exists,
The world that defined me, no longer is.
Everything's gone, it has all disappeared,
In the blink of an eye, I alone stand here.

Each moment now a cruel facade,
Of a life I knew, of a world that was.
The people, the places all gone away,
And I wish to God I could please buy back yesterday.

So my journey continues as I slowly move on,
Destiny has dealt her fate.
Leaving me broken, and oh, so alone,
In a shattered, confused state.

I don't have a clue where I'll be tomorrow,
Feel I'm living on time begged, stolen and borrowed.

She Begged Him No

She begged and pleaded for him to let go
"You're hurting me," she said, and he said, "NO!"
She begged and pleaded for him to please quit
The more she cried, the more she got hit
She begged and pleaded, "Please don't do this to me,"
He unzipped his pants, and did it anyway
She begged and pleaded to "Please just stop"
He said, "I told you I'd show you I get what I want"
She cried no, but he did it any way
She cried no, but he didn't care
Safe at home
She sits alone
Begging and Pleading for this to be a dream
Begging and Pleading, "this is not what it seems"
She realizes it happened,
She sits, she cries
She blames herself,
Inside, she dies
