Honesty Begged Answer

HONESTY BEGGED ANSWER

HONESTY begged an answer
from me it asked impossibility
Forgetting my place within time
I spoke the truth -- almost benign

Thunder split the world within
;first a crack then a fissure
old souls cried a sorrowful song
and blood drenched the lids of eyes

Knowing truth as some may say
is keener than a sharpened blade

Sometimes best to hear a wind
than feel the storm of emotional pain
