Before Christ Poems

Goodbye For Now

I've set free my best, my finest now untamed,
Released her to the wild, to the terrains unnamed,
To you, O vast world, with humility I implore,
With kindness embrace her, she deserves more.

Crucify her not, like the innocent Christ of yore,
Whom you condemned in ignorance and uproar,
For God sent him not out of hatred, but boundless love,
Likewise, I send my sweetest with deep affection from above.

In greater glory than before, Christ with grace,
Returned to the Father's warm, loving embrace,
With love even sweeter, I hope in time and space,
My best will reunite with me, back to her rightful place.

The history of the world
has been divided into two
eras known as BC which stands
for 'Before Christ' and AD which
stands for 'Anno Domini', a Latin
term which means 'Year of our Lord'.

I have chosen to divide my
small world into two eras
as well, known as BB and AB.
I was born nearly 22 years BB
and have lived some 51 years AB.

BB, BEFORE BARBARA, there were some childhood
sweethearts. There were teenage crushes and a
few heartbreaks. For a brief period, I retired
from romantic pursuits. That is until Barbara
came along. Her smiling face and sweet voice
pricked me in the heart and quickly brought
me out of retirement, turning my whole world
upside down.

Yes, BB there must have been 10 or more
girlfriends, but none arrested and captured me.
None engendered a ring nor came close to the
words 'I do' or 'I don't'. But Barbara and I said
'I do'. Since Barbara, there has been no AB,
AFTER BARBARA. We have shared more than 50
Valentines, and yes, she's still the one.

Scripture reference: Matthew 8:1-4

CLEANSED

See Jesus descending from the mountain.
They were waiting - the large crowd.
Eyes on him, they followed him.
Right away -
a leper kneels before Christ.

If you are willing…I am willing

You can make me clean…Be made clean

Immediately
the leper was cleansed…Don’t tell anyone
Go…show yourself to the priest…

Show and tell, that’s our game -
mostly for our own fame.
Can we just accept
the Jesus gift?

The one they need,
spurred on by hearing,
by believing, by tongue-confession,
will they seek or
walk away?

When being handed gifts of bread and fish,
healings and sweet talk, or hanging with
the gang - all is good, but
God will separate the chaff from the wheat.

A large crowd followed, but
how many are left
to receive the gift
of eternal life
in Christ Jesus?

If we are willing, we will receive the whole word,
the living word, God’s word - the one that birthed
the human race, and not erase
the word we don’t agree with.

Be cleansed…are we willing?

Life's Shadow

Life's shadow
leaved for centuries
 before Christ and Anno Domini.
maneuvering again and again
and its delighted in that.
That it's irreversible.

Life's shadow
moving on waters
on mountains
on fire
and in valleys.
free and easy
making sure every micro
second is felt.

Life's shadow
moving confidently,
in light,
where everyone Sees it
moving quietly
in dark,
where no one sees it.
And it's still maneuvering
for centuries where we might
Be no more.

Resurrection Sunday
By Franklin Price
04/12/2020

Resurrection Sunday is when Christians celebrate
The day the stone was rolled away, to give us choice of fate.

Three days before, Christ died for us, on that cross upon the hill.
God sacrificed his only son. He arose, is living still.

Took our sins on dying shoulders, for our evil debts to pay
The Son of God, to save us, died on the cross that day

Nails in both his hands and feet, a spear wound in his side,
Blood flowing from the crown of thorns, that's how our savior died

We never saw it happen, if we have faith, that's how it went
Then when we die, we'll go to heaven, that's why Jesus Christ was sent

We'll see his face in glory, by God's side is where he's been
Christ paved our way to heaven, to believe in him's to win

Coronavirus Easter Addendum
04/12/2020

This year we should not gather to profess faith for our Lord
To risk exposure to the virus is something we cannot afford

Let us help our God to help us, worship separately today
It's not time to meet our maker, even though we know the way

Thinking Aloud

As a young man,
before Christ came into my life,
I had traveled to many states,
But the state that I spent the most time in,
was the state of confusion.

Morality

If that pagan philosopher,
who lived before Christ,
said that Humans are moral beings,
because they have freedom to choose,

instead of saying,
that the man is a political being,
we would not have
so many wars and atrocities

for politics is contained in morality,
but morality is not contained in politics
as throwing atomic bombs demonstrates.
We would not have

that many divisions of Christ Church.
We would have one code of ethics,
as pagans under Hammurabi demonstrated.
We would not say that Native Americans

do not have souls and would not annihilate them.
We would not throw atomic bombs
on sleeping women and children.
In our litany of wrongs committed,

including abortions.
Phoenicians would still have been living
in the land of Canaan and write
chronicles in the alphabet which they discovered.

Premium MemberCross

Growing up, there was hardly a day when I did not CROSS a railroad track or a roadway. So it isn't hard to think of train tracks when I see the word 'CROSS'. We were taught to be very careful at railroad crossings, and our school buses stopped at all railroad crossings. Also as kids, telling the truth with 'words' were not always enough to convince others. Somewhere in childhood, we learned "To CROSS our hearts and hope to die" in order to be believable. Everyone felt 'that act of heart crossing' was proof that no lie was being told. But above all other thoughts, I must say that Christ's death on the CROSS is the most often and most vivid thought and picture that comes to mind when I see or hear the word 'CROSS'. In my mind and belief system, everything that matters with human existence centers around the CROSS of Christ. Before Christ(BC), human hope rested upon and looked forward towards that CROSS, and our present reality now looks back to that same CROSS.

I AM A PROUD GREEK SUNDIAL

I only tell of sunny hours historically,
And go back to when I was built,
Fifty years before Christ was born,
Have been renovated and rebuilt!

My name is Tower of the Winds,
I live in Agora, Athens Greece,
I live at the summit, on top,
Tell time and season, quite an eyepiece

Lord Elgin attempted to remove me from
Greece and take me to Britain but failed,
But I the sundial perched high above,
Stand proud as Elgin’s actions were curtailed!

Promethean Gifts

Inca Indians cultivated potatoes
 thousands of years before Christ.
 Other indigenous domesticated tomatoes
and maize and they gave it to us.

Many centuries of artificial selection
by the indigenous people of the Americas
resulted in the development of corn plants
for the benefit of all mankind.

The Olmecs staple crop –
 Promethean gifts given to us
 in brotherly trust.
And we locked them in artificial Reservations.

Premium MemberImprison Every Thought In Obedience

Take time in due consideration
of all that fills your mind
to look intently inside that matter
fully looking for much there to find

Live by high and lofty principles
bowing to God's perfect holy will
bringing everything before Christ alone
submit in reverence stand forever still

Make your standard equally God like
be as Jesus was here on earth
holding forth scriptural truth to the letter
displaying fruit born from new birth

Take every thought under Christ's word
make sure your obedience truly in line
with that divine inerrant eternal truth
holding it captive to God's ink filled sign

So imprison your every thought
capture it under the sovereign hand
righteous it must be altogether
make it pleasing for heaven's land

Been Here Long Time

Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: Been Here Long Time
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written: February/2014

Been here long time,

Thirty five thousand
years
before Christ -

My skin is black,
my hair is locked -

I wear a robe
made from
sacks -

the same
for my
shoes -

I'm known as the
Jomon -

Been here long time -

I was the first
to enter
the
Japanese islands,

and
China too -

I've been
everywhere -

My skin is black -

Been here long time -

Thirty five thousand
years
before Christ -

Acy-Punctre Energy

Acapunctre energy,

Back about 220 before Christ,
The yellow Emperor gave his advice,
Comissioned by Emperor Houang-Ti,
Use needles to direct the energy,
Acapunct-urely,

So close your mind dismiss the word,
Use western medicine, drug-dog-bird,
The drugs won’t set you free,
More blockages you will see,
For the narrow-minded nerd,

All sickness is channel blockage freeze,
Your chakras bog down with crap and wheese,
So get your 7 chakras to flow,
Breathe in imagine it’s grow,
Rainbow colours here increase,

and will nerve meridians to turn-on go,
Get rid of all disease,
The will in charge yes please,
A healthy thought, is so!!!
If mind block you release???

Oh, Gift of Gifts

(A Poem to the Tune of Amazing Grace)

To feel God's grace and seek His face
Makes every dream divine.
Humility has harnessed me.
I feel sweet loves' embrace.

A silent song within my soul
Love, praising God above.
He sent His son to save mankind.
And placed me on life's roll.

Before Christ came sin was ablaze
Life held too many woes.
Because of Him I live again.
And choose His righteous ways.

Eternity has now begun
Within this heart of mine
Oh, gift of gifts finer than gold.
My Savior is God's Son.
