Rice paper dreams, lanterns and beamers of peace
lighting the way to my heart you are in far remote
Intricate cutout beauty, please do not decease
for I need you to guide me with radiant denote
Lantern of love illuminate me with soulful grace
far deeper is your symbol than mere luck of age
Ramadan rose * Easter lily * Passover Iris- lace
some days I am sinner, some days I am sage
Star lantern of my heart help me keep my vow
to a dormant holiday that often seems demure
Oh spirit of the season, guide me to your Tao
and Universal truth, please do not obscure
the lanterns of my soul, as I celebrate in-grit
and return to love, with altruistic composite.

BEAUTIFUL BUT ENDANGERED
I’m a tall lanky, long legged creature,
stunning beauty, easily recognized.
Body marks separate me from others,
that’s why been told … I’m easy on the eyes.
Talk about eyes, my beamers not forget,
gigantic sultry, sexy bedroom eyes.
More alluring behind long thick lashes,
extraordinary … no one denies.
All the way down neck, flows short full mane,
no way competes with lips, soft, luscious, wet.
I’m more than looks, I’m an intelligent
creature God created … this don’t forget.
Like all Creation, I glorify God,
as a Giraffe, fear I’ll soon disappear.
Beautiful but critically endangered,
Is someone listening … does someone hear?

Messages, messages pounding my brain
Messages wanting to drive me insane
Blood pressures’s rising, better seek fear
Kidneys are failing, dementia is near
Pills for depression, pills for the pain
Pills for the holiday weight that you gain
Talk to your doctor, talk to your nurse
Don’t forget also, best bring your purse
CEO’s marketing millions of meds
CEO’s out to maneuver the Feds
Raking in dollars for Beamers and Benz
Hoping that none of us see through their lens
Messages, messages flashing my eyes
Side effects whispered in rapid demise
Healthcare for profit has gone way too far
Despite all the voices , I’ll be at the bar!

I shall forever remain
a night’s celestial pilgrim
meandering beneath
the skyscape’s towering dome --
And along the cobblestone
of luminous runways,
jewels of flamed beamers seem to flick
beyond earth’s tableau as the grandeur
from anonymous stars explode,
That I imagine Orion’s groove
whirling around a trillion cosmic moons—
nameless yet ascertained...
for some percieved reason, each nova
circles on its own orbital zone
pulsing then ebbing through my
enigmatic impression ... until
I am devoured by each shimmer,
each odyssey, each dancelight--
making my quill’s ink curdle again.

Miasma Ripening
by Odin Roark
The chaff of greed
Feeds the consumer-compost,
While urban disquietude
Marches in lockstep.
Decomposition rages…
Choked roads of sunbaked gridlock,
Spider web into house upon house,
Creating cubic-waste upon cubic-waste,
Richer,
Poorer,
Fancier,
Shittier.
Drive by Reality…
Poor eye the rich,
Rich eye endless wants,
Avarice-bloated ticks of debt
Cruise side by side,
Beamers in the middle lanes,
Teslas in the fast lanes,
Phony nails,
Phony tans,
Corporate coffee,
Frilly coffee,
Strip mall yoga,
Storefront Scientology,
Think it…
You can buy it.
“Parade” the operative word…
As flesh and blood window-mannequins
Masquerading as humans,
Bedeck themselves in ugly clothes,
Garish clothes,
Supplied by the ever-surging China.
Just as toxic denial continues,
So too the enslavement’s rising stench,
Its ripening enticement lingering,
Its seductive aftertaste addictive,
Oh, so addictive.

The key to the highway
Is to be Careful, how you approach it
Look for potential Opponents, as you slide on
Pay close attention to the flow of things
Especially, the Impromptu lane jumpers
And, the Quick crossover-ers
Who think of Noone but themselves
Seeing as how, they own the road
But, you be better than that
You are the Eyes and Ears of Everyone
And, Everything, around you
It is your Civic duty to be Safe
By watching out for the Safety of Others, too
So, do drive with Caution
Skip a lane or two, if you have to
But, put your blinkers on
Use your high beamers for troublespots
Most importantly, be Courteous not dumb
Let Noone bump or sideswipe you
But, remember to Play it safe
Oh yeah, put those Signals on
