Premium Member Oh, You Said Get Dog Food, Not a Bale of Hay

“I say, I say, pay attention when I’m talkin’ to ya, boy!” Classic line from Fog Horn Leghorn, a Looney Tunes character

A husband was prone to get details confused.
His wife told him this when she was not amused:

“I asked you to get just one thing that I needed.
When at last you returned, I was steamed.
It was clear that my simple request wasn’t heeded.
You should try your best to be redeemed.

I had asked for one pack of six corndogs; instead,
you brought six cans of corn and six dogs!
They all bark day and night, and they’ve taken our bed.
If I’d asked for bacon, would you have brought hogs?”

Premium Member Make Hay and Seize the Day

Make Hay and Seize the Day
It's so true that time doesn't wait for you
tarry at your peril
For all too soon we're beyond the moon
having lost life’s mettle.

If loves young dream was ne'er heard nor seen
do not hang up the ghost
Desire ye marry, do not tarry
drink to love with a toast.

All our yesterdays are flown too soon
tomorrow's the unknown
Pray Cupid with his bow and arrow
finds a beau of thine own.

So amass violets while you may
don't waste anymore days
Love will bloom and it's fragrant perfume
will follow you always.

Open up your heart without delay
make hay and seize the day.

Mouse and a Bale of Hay

You'll never guess what what I saw today,
A little mouse eating a bale of hay,
I said, "Mouse, what the heck you trying to do?"
Mouse said, "What business is it to you?"

I said, "Mouse there is no way you can eat it all."
Because that bale is so big and you are so small.
Mouse said, "You think you are so smart,
I'm going to eat this hay but this is just a start."

"I didn't say I'd eat it all in one day,"
"For this one big bale of hay."
"But I know what I can do."
"I'll finish this hay in day two."

The next day Mouse could barely talk,
Lying on his back for he couldn't walk,
His belly was swollen as big as a house,
All that hay was in that little mouse.

I said, "Mouse, how did you eat all that hay?"
He just had this to say,
"It was hard and took all night."
The secret he said was taking small bites!

Bale

Unleash your g'RETH
At the hour eleventh
Flip me a coin to start the jingle
Your ball and chain to tinkle
To face the two
Poles on your tattoo
Shouts of jeers
Screams of cheers!
The gaze you hold is magnetic
The stare they hold, pathetic
Scoring is ingrained with the left
Goals caught like fish in their net
Grant them the Bale
To escape your jail
Before the striped number
Strikes again like a black mamba

Haiku: the Bale

Hanging from a branch
Loaded with flowers and leaves
A bale swings with wind
