Premium Member Pig Beach, Bahamas

a young professor doing research
my grasp of truth
was quick to form
and
i began
my earnest search
for a one-horned unicorn
so
i put on a yellow slicker
and
i went out in the storm
but
the weather got much thicker
and i missed the unicorn
it was like
reaching for a rose
and finding a cutting thorn
i cried
and blew my streaming nose
and missed my unicorn
then
a cat in striped pajamas
his outfit so elegantly worn
said
look in the Bahamas
you'll find your unicorn
i no longer care a fig
and I'm no longer forlorn
because
i've seen a swimming pig
i don't need a unicorn

Premium Member Beautiful Bahamas

Peach-pinched beachcombers
enter the scene
with sugary-sun splashes,
darkened sunglasses.
Beautiful Bahamas
with pink sand beaches
and the gully wash
that ebbs and flows, sweetens
her veins with serendipitous warmth,
tantalizes his bushwacker brain.
Foraminifera of her cheeks,
her wet towel beneath.
Horseshoe bay smiles,
waves them in
with its turquoise siren-sea and
blushing granules.
Bahama mama runs
as if she’s a Bay Watch babe.
To the one who embraces
her intoxicating hand,
she is the embodiment
of a precious shell in his palm.
Does he feel the sun…
smell the salty air?
He feels the heat indeed,
tastes the salty air she breathes —
She is the Bahamas to him.
He crashes the island
of her flowery towel.
His lips envelope
his piña colada.

Premium Member Prayer For the Bahamas

With broken hearts we turn to You
Our tears cannot help those in need
To countless souls we bid adieu
And hope You listen as we plead

Bahamians need Your blessing
While they try to rebuild their homes
Dorian still keeps them guessing
As through the streets the homeless roam

Take pity on this island nation
Where families lost all they had
Starving, hopeless in devastation
Many still missing, and all so sad

If Dorian’s swift, salty surge
Carried many souls out to sea
Please help their families emerge
Stronger in the Isle of Free

For from the states some slaves escaped
To build better lives in Freeport
Blankets of flowers are now draped
On coffins bearing lives cut short

The Path of Dorian

O' the case of Dorian
progressing through the sea,
battering the Bahamas
then shifting to a "three",
Have you seen the damage caused,
how islands lie in rubble?
Property and lives were lost
resulting from your trouble!

Now we wait so anxiously
to know the fullest measure
of this great calamity
ending in displeasure.
Soon will come the future day
when hurricanes desist.
Dorian, I'm pleased to say,
you will not be missed.

Premium Member - Bahamas and Bananas -

In wait for spring, snow is falling
Escape to the idyllic islands of Bahamas

Create your own adventure, the palette is ready
Framed by a gorgeous, mesmerizing blue sea

Eating a banana can lighten your mood
Soft and lovely coral sand, a pink sunset

Get away from the cold and explore new exotic locations
Many hidden gem to discover, just ask Christopher Columbus

Bahamas Friendship

we dance,we laugh,we share,we sing,
tomorrow is near, our time is up,and then we split
only time will tell what the future brings
either we are done we still meet.

those things we share through our together times,
are luxuries we behold in our hearts,
if only friends are like granites,
we keep them in our right hands and hold them tight.

i have some words for true friendships,
its as beautiful as a spaceship.
if only death can be skipped,
then we will choose to live without a split.

Thanksgiving In the Bahamas

Many years ago as we've been told
Pilgrims landed on America shores
Remembered for their gifts of love
Shared with natives living there
Surviving those long winter months
Who would have thought
Their kindness would cross the seas
To our small Bahama Land!
We celebrate Thanksgiving
With turkey and pumpkin pie to!
It is a time to give God thanks
For richly blessing our Bahama Land!
The adoption of this tradition
Inspires us to reach out to those in need
And draw closer to our divine purpose
To be sincerely thankful for all God has done!
