Inexplicably silent in choir
being unusually quiet
not a word from me was heard
neither spoken nor sung
so as not to cause a riot
when jibes bad vibes at me were slung
and I was asked, 'Cat got your tongue?'
I replied, 'Here's the thing,
really and truly, I cannot sing,
it's been this way for all my years,
whatever it is I appear to hear,
and between my ears to me audibly sits,
tho' quite right there, when on the tongue's tip,
it's not the same music my mouth emits.'

The tale of when our ancient world begins
when curious characters did abound,
such as the audibly contrasting twins,
who bore the common names Silence and Sound.
The mission Sound would always prosecute
with loud and bold voluble persistence,
thunderous, unyielding and resolute,
his one aim to tell of his existence.
While Silence stood still with an open ear.
not caring for notice or attention,
but to understand, empathize, and hear,
a humble, kind and loving intention.
The one who was Silent as a prayer,
was the one, in essence, really there.

"No one dare
Disturb the sound of silence"
Quote taken from the Sounds of Silence by Paul Simon.
Echoes of a lingering quiet time,
When no one hears the bells that chime.
Through the abyss I feel myself falling.
My voice cant be heard, although I am calling.
Silence has deserted me so it would seem.
There are no pins dropping in my dream.
Is this the day they freed the noise?
Dulcet sounds that bring everlasting joys,
Words uttered loud and clear,
Though I implore, she will not hear.
My song is old, bordering on archaic.
Like shattered glass that forms a mosaic,
I need to suppress it and turn it all around,
Stifle the silence and bottle the sound.
The silence is definitive, no volume switch to turn.
The sound infinitive and audibly I yearn.
Into my muted dreams she often sneaks.
Its louder than words when silence speaks.
Its like gold that glistens,
When silence listens.

If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?" taken from The Merchant of Venice, Act 3 Scene 1

Blessed Quietude
Audibly
we rise
and fall
But Silence ...
is the language
of God
(Dreamsleep: June, 2024)
Lost In Place
The past
is never where you left it
Tomorrow
— delegitimizes today
(Dreamsleep: June, 2024)
Groupies
Liking ...
sometimes better
than loving
(Keith Richards: June, 2024)
First Step
Standing at the crossroads
and knowing that you’re there
Going left or going right
coin toss or a dare
Pushed by fate determined
into sorrow, joy, or pain
First step taken tells the tale
— of destiny proclaimed

Airing Out In Daisy Aromatic Breeze
Set to Dry Under The Friendly Not too Hot Sun!

Sitting on My Granma's Front Porch
In Refuge From the Grueling Rays
Urging Me to Bare My Thoughts and Pen What I'm Thinking

Dehydrating My Will For any Outdoor Frolicking

I Penned, I Sigh
I Think When I Pen and Pen What I Think

I Sigh, Sometimes I Shed a Few Tears

All quiet on the western front:
The rest, in bed, still sleeping.
Then, audibly, I hear a grunt;
The neck hairs start their creeping.
Then springing up from on the couch
To do a full room sweeping,
I stub a toe, a stifled ouch,
And words that need some bleeping.
And there beneath me, I can vouch,
The monitor is beeping.
It’s Vivian, no ogrish grouch,
Whose company I’m keeping.

Don’t just raise your glass, stand up to cheers
Until each and every one gets audibly clinked
Repeating Ike-ism’s stretching memories years
Keeps the good ones up front and spirits linked
Not so subtly cheat (just a little) in a crokinole game
Enough to get caught to see who’s watching most
Laugh when he’s busted, “Who me?” He’d exclaim
Get the cookie anyway and make a little toast
But don’t just raise your glass, stand up to cheers
Around the table meeting each glass individually
Sing old songs loud enough so everyone hears
Then head to the garage to smoke an O.P.
Overpaying the grandkids to repaint the fence
Who wasted the paint on each other running amok
A sense of good humour even at an expense
So off for more, piled into the big orange truck
Fixing cars for the cost of parts and a chat
For family and friends over sprockets and gears
Here’s to the happy man with Ike on his hat
So don’t just raise your glass, stand up to cheers!

I passed a used car lot and thought
of my own vehicle...and had to crack-
a-smile: a lot of mileage and poorly
maintained~ tires often over inflated
seldom attentively cleaned and
meticulously polished...
Of course, it has been “My Way”,
sort of like a Sinatra song
but far less flamboyant, though
not entirely deprived of Bragging
Rights. And yet, there has been
an element of destiny, I am lost
to fully define...that mist we come
from, the shadows we know are
there, lurking behind the screen,
just beyond a mind's rational edge
Often struggling to determine my
real from my visually, audibly imaged,
I am only certain of our shared affection,
the lingering warmth of heated embraces
I have carried with me into the chill of
separate days~ with our breathless kisses
that somehow define life beyond all
breathable borders –
Who knows? Maybe there is a Heaven,
as love remains the greatest Wonder of
The World~ 7 + its best.

We rather wish that someone would
lead him to a tree.
They can be so useful
for life and death.
He might look more elegant
from a distance.
But this one decides to join us
in this bar,
sits at our table, displaying
his filthy fingernails,
his rather snotty tissues, sniffing,
so audibly, so blatantly.
Each half-hour or so he has a smoke,
so leaves the room,
permitting us to take
a deeper breath,
drawing somewhat cleaner air
into our lungs.
Ah, who has the courage to say
please go away -
though it would be better to use
some choice language?
But all we do is sit -
just hope, ho hum!

I've done this audibly and solely in my closet
To him holy wholly now I'm speaking sharing in text now
How true He knows my heart and how I'm ever grateful for all His blessings Even though I don't continue to always say it daily
But in my sub-consciousness in my spirit I know that I am increasingly blessed And I know that He needs to hear that I love and thank Him Always
He loves me ever so and I love Him just as much.
I wish I could love Him more so more.
But if I speak it allow Aloud and Believe In My Heart. Amen
You know, no one can measure your love of God in your heart but God.
His love overflows through and in me no man can see how.
He's touched my heart and how I also believe renewed stilled loved chosen
And approved Worthy of His love, for some reason especially for this day
His day, in His will, His way I am His love and I feel loved I m beholden
And I know that He needs to hear that I love and thank Him, Always
SOLEY IN MY CLOSET BEHOLDEN I AM PRAYING-

Sitting at McDonald's at a table up from an old guy in painter attire taking his lunch break. Wolfing down his food he talked on his phone all the while .As he commented about his day and asked about whoever was on the phone .He must have been asked about his meal.Stopping to lay his sandwich down he eyed it
With disgust and before resuming its consumption said",It ain't much but maybe it will make a turd "
Waite there's more.As he struggles to navigate his belly out of the booth he audibly farted said" What did you say girl ,Timmy is in the well, laughed to himself and left.
You can't make this crap up.
Guess he was stuck in the **** stage.Perhaps I am as well.I am inexplicably drawn to a certain type of companion that in the name of rehabilitation shall remain nameless.

Why you taking all that energy and time
Being ungrateful pouty wasting all of your life
You hourly daily time disgusting unredeemable on making up lost time
Complaining sustaining in your sorrow in your brief lapses of unbelief
Miss spoken unspoken silently and loud you're disbelief
A wise man once said you may kill time but one day time's going to kill you
Revelations part sometimes hard but yet so true
Lord I ma stop mine confession find the right now confessing I'm praising I am in worship with you in my mind in my heart continually so second by second by minute by minute by hour by hour audibly and intangibly in my mind now that I praise you been made free, in Jesus Name always
Amen

a child collapsed cold in the garden
talisman waved with the wind
violently close to a pardoning-
hardening, molding the kin to her seam inter-winged
horribly marbling volatile harmony
azure veins fold under skin- jittering
gently golden it stings
effigy holding the strings
partially fondling close within cartilage-
pieces now bloom into things-
before following-
thin choreology
thew ending progeny
posed they erode intermittently-
honestly,
iridine progeny,
how are you possibly
watching atrocity knead etymology
skin abound covering, sleeving impossibly
sinew renewed where it feeds on bare faucet leaks
farther it blossoms then seeps something bodily
oddity, pardon me
lovably blue and it bleeds out so audibly
fissure pains bottling
lowly imposingly-
nearing a prophecy
budding up slowly to figurehead modesty
petals all grown out- they shelter so somberly
flay splayed out flower-wise neatly and modestly
peaking autonomy
inky tear conjuring
pink from the fostering
nauseously
cautiously failing to breathe
