Au Gratin Poems

Turnips

What is hungry that
These turnips
Shall be fattened
With bacon. This
Spoke the troll
he gathered turnips
from Onsager s  garden.
Breadcrumbs shall
atop this au gratin
With bacon , pumpkin
from Onsager s mystery
Garden He was angry
because Ole Onsager
Put fatback in front
Of the bacon hiding it
from the Scrooges and
Mizzers. But me Jack
the Troll but mi hand
beneath all that fatback
and found this treasure trove
Of sugarcured bacon. I saw
Turnip greens atop the bulbs
Of earthy goodness.
I remember the from the book
Of Sages, the words of
Meade's and Meanest.
The greens of this frost bit
Place is the garden of the
Mizzers. Only the leaves of
Tender fresh turnips are for
Consumption . My cassorolle
Shall aroma of garlic, onions
and carrots.the crumbled bacon
Shall nearest thee.. the cream and
Roux shall mix with the broth
And these turnips and pumpkins
Shall be loved and adorned.
Not to be looked over by the
Mizzers and Scrooges..
The ground beneath me
So happy d you
Need a pickax
To break it!

Titties in Bra!

and rasains with grated cheeses
and meringue make souflee
And with
 sugarcured bacon; be
delicious with the greens, I saw!

Premium MemberBeing Rich Is So Much a Bore

No greasy treats from chippie van;
I have my starch now au, gratin
with blasted, deconstructed bass,
petits pois, served; in Demi tasse.

No pint of best down at the pub
I drink with chums now at the club;
Prosecco, or a Chardonay
depending on the time of day.

No picking up the kids from school;
done by Au pair now; as a rule;
she turns up in our four by four
dressed top to toe in old Dior

No visits to the Home Depot
I have ten craftsmen now in tow;
who add things at my beck and call
to my enormous stately hall.

No need to visit family;
They all now want to come see me,
drink all my wine, then use the pool;
methinks they take me for some fool!

There's nothing left that I can buy;
so why, you ask, that big old sigh?
I have new friends, but here's the rub;
I miss my mates down at the pub.

Yes, being rich is such a bore!

Mastications In One Movement

Lathering on the ranch dressing,
mixed with honey mustard grunting;
these inhaling engorging souls are
finding the emotional precipice,
high up and dangling,
hanging by french fried ropes,
smothered in thousand island arrhythmias.
here come the fat waiters,
pushing arteriosclerotic meat carts,
spangled in barbecued thrombosis
and chocolate-covered infarctions,
served au jus on peanut butter trays
filled with maple syrup cherries and
white-creamed heart palpitations.
You know what I mean?
You’ve smelled those words before,
tasted their glazed cordials,
licked the candy flowers
as they swayed there, and
sucked the inner pap of the sweet melon
with perspiring brow; now
having a reason to wake up, it is
time for cupcakes and cinnamon churros
with the vanilla-skirted girls,
marinating inside bacon and lettuce taxis,
dipped in onion teriyaki, sizzling
delicious smoke with au gratin effusions.

Thelo na se pantrefto

wanting and needing often found her
hungry. she'd often find something special
at Dingles Restaurant
a special place that catered to the taste of
strangers, or those who liked
gamey meat, and garlicky breads.
she often had a lot of steaks, tarts and
rice dishes, for a discount, that's why
people often came to get the special.
ask what the chef is eating and you'll probably
find a great deal.
tonight a friend and I are
excited to dine out, I think she's going to
say she'll marry me, so
I asked the chef to
fix something special to go with the bacon and dill? cucumber tarts
I ordered. maybe the pork blade steak with stir-fried vegetables
or maybe some smoked fish and a sour cream tart, or even the
classic fillet mignon with bacon and stuffed potato skins and a cauliflower au gratin.
if she answers yes, I told the chef to send out two small raspberry cakes with champagne. if she answers no Well the gingersnaps will have to do.

Taters

clap for mashed potatoes
gravy on the side

ketchup smothered
is how i like my fries

love a baked potato
stuffed with everything

even like them broiled
butter and sour cream

hash browns grilled with onions
get my taste buds jumping

sometimes like them fancied
dressed up in au gratin

slurping of the soup
sprinkled down with parsley

even eat them raw sometimes
though the taste is gnarly

smoked me a tater once
down on the farm

followed around behind the animals
till the cows came home

Family Is the Way of the Day

mama made orange kool aid today
five minutes later i make black cherry
ten minutes later my sister prepares grape
we all ended up drinking up what's left of the tropical punch
this means the lipton burgers will be on the grill later on
i will make the bacon cheddar potatoes au gratin
mama asks me to fix the corn on the cob as well
the vanilla cream cake came straight from my grandmother
