Argonauts Poems

Premium MemberPause And Remember

For Jason and his Argonauts, golden wool was theirs to fleece
For the British, Iran's oil was theirs to drill and steal
In '53 the West led Iran's democracy into a tyrant's peace
Now we call the trouble since all part of God's grand will

So many harsh lessons are learned in winter's darkest days
Only to be forgotten as we approach a warm September
Yet in the annals of time the truth is on display
It is incumbent upon us to stop, pause, look and remember

Journey of Souls

The journey of souls
Pay homage to rebellion
Like mongol queens

The prophet drinks medicinal tea
Harnessing the power of now
Resting in the seat of his soul

The argonauts battle
They fight through the wasteland
And commit murder in the cathedral

The spirit’s apprentice
Tends to the soul
And lathers the oil that heals

Leaves fall gently
The birds are all dying
The journey of souls
Pay homage to rebellion

Rounded Earth

Rounded earth appeared
               when populated caravel
               of argonauts, dipped
              was in seas never before
              browsed ...
Behold, going up to the North all perceived
the sun little by little rising
from the edge of dawn ... apparition
ghostly in the deep blue ...
             On-site verification, halo
             vaulted earth ...
             Primal phenomenon
             sphericity of
             planet... !

Premium MemberFavorite Legend

My favorite legend still has salt on it,
white freckles left from the sea of Colchis.
If you search carefully,
you might even find a whisp of golden byssus
slipping into your palm.

Chart laid out,
course set for the ram of Phrixus;
fleece beyond the friendly sea
one must brave the clashing rocks.
The gods will have their game,
but none can tame Lord Jason
but Medea,
daughter of Aeëtes,
high priestess of the temple,
beloved niece of Circe, who turned all men to beasts.

How many months at sea,
men slowly turning bronze behind the oars,
only men for company and out sight of shore.
How they must have bathed in the sea
as bare as fish
and just as quick and shining.
How well they mastered ropes and sweat,
muscles wrapped around their bones.

Who remembers who mended the sail?
No one. Yet on they sailed!

Seirenes - Sea Nymphs - Greek Mythology Contest

The song they sing
Will bewitch you
Promising you everything
Warming your bed to loving you

Heartbreakers for sure
Full of wickedness and sin
They are so evil
Promising love but taking a life

They were handmaidens to the
Goddess Persephone
When Haides abducted her

Given bodies of birds
Sent to search for her
got tired and made
Anthemoessa Island their home

There they sang their song
Luring sailors to their death
Orpheus helped the Argonauts sail past
By drowning out their music
with his song.

Odysseus also sailed by
Bound tightly to the mast
His men blocked their ears
Using wax, so no song was heard

For this to happen
Distressed the Seirenes so much
They threw themselves
Into the sea and drowned.

Cepheus

There is no pain Ethiopian Indian... this way to the Wind
Father to Andromeda and the phi is nominal, his
Argonauts strut true sense as the normal
Robes of gold counting coal as usual.
Astro nuts in the light of day.
We change in a constellation they say
Hobbit of the East the monarch mentions
.... as her Scotch goes vertical
and she Lands the great notion.

Hey Chief...

I Breathe Fire

As the mythical treasure of the Argonauts
illustrious eyes draw me in
the tendrils of your gaze
seeking the answer
an unasked question
draping itself over my needs

I inhale

Abruptly your nearness
overwhelms
the brilliance of you
beckons to my spirit
As your nearness overtakes me
A need for air overcomes sense
reason reigns in need

I tremble

A catch in sigh
through gasping lips
Your first brush
throwing me into
cyclone of want
forever burns my skin
in the slow lava
you draw from me…

I exhale

Rapture from the heat
my master in the fires
sated in love
I Breathe fire …

The Pursuit

I have pursued it
Like a Sherlock longing for a Holy Grail
Or a Raleigh broken in the dungeon of spirit
Dreaming where the Argonauts sail.
And sometimes when through a mist
I see a glistening glimmer of light
My Eureka takes the exit
From my wingless Icarus of joy
And I sit like wax in the waneless sun
This Atlantis figmenting my love
This El Dorado with garulous globs of gold
This tide that carries the panting world
To the flotsam littered shore
I have pursued it
Brain, breast, and blizzard blinded grassy core
There is no end to it
And no beginning here
This life, this parable of my existence
O that I was a Drake from its peak
A Columbus on its sandy circumference
Divine, mysterious
Eternal sheik.

Earth and Its Function

Earth and its function

earth and its function
dirt and reelection
reflection from a mirror
so much terror
memory of a computer error
robots livid from motion
data starts back the Trojans
Argonauts

leading the sheep to the slaughter
reminiscing when they caught her
tortured terrorists hung drawn and quartered
