Premium MemberWhen His Darkness Met Light

In a state of darkness, with hatred in his heart,
there traveled to Damascus with the intent to persecute Christians
one named Saul.
On the road,light surrounded him, blinding him. He was a witness to Christ,
who admonished him. Once in Damascus, he waited until a believer, Ananias,
would soon answer God’s call
by laying healing hands on a man who was once so cruel.
That same light that had blinded Saul transformed him into
the redeemed apostle known as Paul.

Love Of Money, Mistrust, And Betrayal Causes Heinous Crime In Society

The greatest snakes is not in the woods,
Rather, it lives in the family
Or in the circle of friends.

In this life, whether in work,
Family, feelings or friends
Honesty is still the best policy.

Those who are not tried in the fire,
Are worth not for gold but a metal
They become Judas, Ananias and Sapphira.

The love of money always betray trust,
It compels to do the heinous crime
Of abusing public trust and always tell lies.

Thinking Deep

THINKING!
Am done writing
Because I don't like rising
But falling into pleasant places
Riches of glory
Fond of palm fonds
For fun of the Jews not gentiles
To cut off their thesis
So they don't pass because they were not trained
So I pray they go like
Ananias and sapphire
The good new days are today if only the good knew days.

Rocky Roads

an interlocking rubaiyat

Near Damascus, Saul's hatred met its end;
he soon discovered darkness is no friend.
God deemed young Ananias the best guy
to tell Saul of the plan He'd recommend.

"Saul will kill me," was this believer's cry.
"What could I do? I'm certain I would die."
And he was right, it's God that does the work
but fear weighs heavy, makes it hard to try.

Saul was a zealot in tradition's bind.
It's hard to see when customs leave you blind;
Saul was a Pharisee of great renown,
determined and with vengeance on his mind.

Ananias' trust made a turn-a-round;
Saul's fight took on focus when Light he found.
In time, conversion helped both comprehend
fervor survives a rocky battleground.

Premium MemberAnanias and Sapphira Were Lovers

There was a Biblical character, Ananias
Whose personality traits were surely manias
He was a liar, liar, liar
Minus the Holy Spirit hit hell's fire

Ananias had a wife named Sapphira
Who swayed like the palm, palmyra
Her desire was to husband who was a liar
Now she is roasting in that hot hell fire

Manias- an irrational but irresistible motive for a belief or action

This clerihew taken from Biblical passage Acts 5: 1-10, loosely interpreted

From Sinner To Saint

The Apostle Paul was a saint but he was a sinner in the beginning.
He killed Jesus's followers and Jesus struck him blind for sinning.
After Jesus sent Ananias to restore Paul's sight, Paul changed his evil ways.
He vowed to be Jesus's apostle and preach the gospel for the rest of his days.
Paul began preaching that Jesus is our savior.
Some people became infuriated by his behavior.
They planned to have Paul put to death.
He was warned about this and he left.
After leaving, he continued to preach the gospel and made tents for a living.
Even though Paul was a former murderer, Jesus knew that he was worth forgiving.
Paul was worthy of forgiveness and so are today's sinners.
If people put an end to their sinful ways, they can be winners.

A New Voice

subtitled: A Leg Up, Down
a rubaiyat

Near Damascus, Saul's hatred met its end;
he soon discovered darkness is no friend.
God deemed young Ananias the best guy
to tell Saul of the plan He'd recommend.

"Saul will kill me," was this believer's cry.
"There is no way I'll open up Saul's eyes?"
And He's right, unless God is thus inclined;
but fear weighs heavy, makes it hard to try.

Saul was a zealot in tradition's bind.
It's hard to see when customs leave you blind;
Saul was a Pharisee of great renown,
determined but with vengeance on his mind.

Both Saul and Ananias came unbound,
their lives took on focus as Light they found.
Now, Ananias can his trust defend;
and Saul gained fervor switching battleground.
