CHRISTMAS EVE GIFT MANTIS
In one hundred years
I saw a thousand mantises
on this Christmas Eve another
descended unexpected gift
for a northern Lightwave
whilst I stared at singular
Southern sky
She reminded about stillness
strategy soundlessness
embodied etiquette
empathy reflecting my
mirrors
we practiced prayers
exchanging piety for
piquant dreams
from triangular head
could I trust in timing
Careful calm collected
one leg up slowly
shake observe
turn head left
turn head right
Awareness quivers on
awaiting angle
divining a tiny trial of luck
focus no fidget
its Christmas Eve
ChristLight announced
from a darkly
lucid mantis womb
Her greenstick keys
unlock patient portals to
my Eternal Heart

X marks the Gospel spot
He’s the chiasm of B.C. to A.D.
Like the Chi-rho symbol or ichthus fish
There’s no disrespect, says R.C.
X reminds us of Christ,
[The Star that’s shining bright]
It’s 1st Century shorthand communication
While under persecution it was their elocution
The 1st letter of His title in Greek
Hear Him in His Word and His Speak
Was it Winter was it Spring
Was it Fall or another season
Whichever, He is the reason for reason
With angels bending, and the
Act of God condescending
Bringing peace to the Earth
This we rejoice in outside the inn
That X marks the spot of a King-sized manger
The birth of our Savior
And our release from sin
The Rock that rolls away the stony heart of dearth, also
Is rolling back the curse
CHRISTMAS ALLITERATION
Silent snowflakes softly fall,
Whispering wishes, one and all.
Brightly burning Christmas cheer,
Melodies of rejoicing reaching the ear.4
Twinkling tinsel, trim the tree,
Gleaming glittering lights, so merrily.
Sleigh bells sing, as reindeer roam,
Through frosty fields they joyfully comb.8
Warmth and wonder in wintry air,
Crisp and cold, without despair.
Candles glowing, casting a glow,
Guiding hearts, where love will grow.¹²
Christmas time, a magical sight,
Just as my alliteration blazes bright.
Gather together, belove and believe,
In this festive season we relive.¹6

During December, decorative display designs dazzle.
Christmas carolers chant cheerfully.
Merry music makes many meaningful memories.
Trimming tree trinkets twinkle.
Santa's sleigh soars skyward seeing soft snowflakes shimmer.
Households have happy holiday happenings.
Plenty presents pile, parading pretty paper.
Generous gifts given, gesturing grateful grins.
Festive fun for families!
Chicken Chuck Chiggers chose chances of Chow
Changing curly curd curiosities that happened now
Clamping clogging cleats, classifying clones of mad cow
Colorado’s colorful colonists commanding condos of wow
Crusty cramped crullers creeping in craggy crevasses so
Crispy cartooned crestfallen consonants following below
Caroling cartons carefully consternating as catfish grow
Christmas card carolers confusing craggy-topped snow.
Confusing collars commanding colorized classification
Creating confident compact colonel’s consternation
Colliding converse comparisons in curious colorization
Commanding calendars corduroy in cellophane colonization
** A Very Memorable Christmas Present **
Someone made an err::
Boxing Day ‘ere’s
Been the day of — not after.
What started as the greatest
Christmas ever, turned
Us from better to worse
As our tempers grew, altered
After our fingers were slid into
Those gift-wrapped firm gloves of leather,
Punching through the room’s air
At each other
With words roused from harsh to meaner,
‘Till our referee pup barked
To end our Round 1, forcing a turnover
Into creating a round of rich laughter.
Re-freshed, happier, remembering our
Proper manners appropriate to honor
Our Savior’s birthday…We resolved
A return trip to the store to trade
That shared present of boxing gloves for
A healthier, sturdy set of parallel bars.

Happy Birthday, King Jesus
He didn't just strive for salvation
In John ten- ten he let Big Cat out
I plan u to savor Earth, then heaven:
Jesus calls us to dream, no doubt
He will help sanctify, fructify my Dream
II
Just dream for now, dont u quit
Many on earth are too starving to dream
So dream for the downtrodden, down & out
Jesus will purify any dream, make it clean
To adorn heaven, it's streets, Divine pines
For Christmas every day: I need your dreams
Aged Agatha
loved listening to
Christmas carol concerts.
Agatha always attended
her grand daughter Grace’s
nativity at her nursery.
Grace’s mummy Marie
always went with Agatha,
describing in detail
how gorgeous Grace looked
dressed in wonderful winter white
with a glistening gold halo
and tinsel wrapped wire wings.
Sadly old age had taken its toll
and Agatha was almost blind
so she could only visualise
what an adorable angel Grace made

October is a full box of thirty-six crayolas
Oranges, reds, gold…like sparkling colas,
Refreshing the soul like vibrant violas
Taking us higher in colorful gondolas,
All the true colors of summer gladiolas.
Rustle of the browns much like brawn
Damp with the dew of the early dawn,
Rich golden brews just freshly drawn
With smooth tawny of this spring's fawn,
Covering the dying green of my lawn.
Ushers in the holiday’s joyous season
Thanksgiving, Christmas for a good reason
(Merry, bright, joyous, and gleesome)
Ranges in color over the entire canon
Ochre, magenta, rust—all are in fashion
October, Oh, October! month chosen.

I didn't write a poem for September,
I forgot to remember.
I didn't plant seeds for Christmas flowers,
I forgot to remember.
I didn't feel the pain as I usually do,
I forgot to remember.
I didn't think about the sadness of life,
I forgot to remember.
I haven't got Dementia or Alzheimer's,
I simply forgot to remember.
I didn't realize what safeguards I have,
I never forget what my savior does for me,
I remember His dying love has set me free.
This may mean nothing to you,
But it does to me.

Creative Christmas Candy Canes
Crunch cinnamon crusts
Chasing and carousing,
Curious cousins with cruising curiosity
Searching for Spend-thrift Santa
Singing Silver Bells,
Sugar Plum Sensitivity
Sashaying and swishing across stage
Lots of lively laughter
Luxurious lighting
Light hearted loveliness
Looking toward next year’s Christmas
Happy heathy life is wished for you this year
Helping hearts to wipe every tear
Happenstance happenings that herald cheer
Heart warming hopeful events to make covid disappear
High-spirited hilarious friends always near
Hale and hearty body, end of all despair
Harmonious relationships heralding heaps of love so dear
Healing, humane people, holidays hugs and everything that makes miseries blear
Heart felt Merry Christmas and Happy New year to all my friends here.

Some special seasons seem sad
oh-so solemn
Others -- sallow, slow, even silly
But X-mas season 'tis to savor
soothing, silky, serene
sending us soaring skyward
with its satiny, snowy scenes

Christmas courts contentment, cheer
Contributes comfort, comity-
Commingling with the coming Christ.
Can celebrate with caroling,
Church choir chanting, candlelight.
Create commitments to cherish
Connection conceived with Christ.
Christmas cards and caring confirm
Charity, compassion, closeness-
Culled core of Christmas centerpiece.

Charlie consumed countless calories
chomping Christmas cake
chocolate
cookies
candies
chewy caramels
cherry cheesecake
consequently
Charlie complained of
cavernous cavities
and cramped constricting chino’s
Charlie can’t control continuous Christmas chomping!
