I met a Czech now living in Quebec
Very handsome in crisp turtleneck
He tells a sad story about a shipwreck
But now has a highfalutin job here in high tech
Alec loves to strut muscles in a crew neck
Play outdoor hockey and body check
Climb mountains on a challenging trek
Water ski off a summer cottage deck
Answer any pop quiz about the Aztec
Let loose at the swinging discotheque
Draws the line at pretending he knows a speck
About anything related to home ec
One day Alec was about to write a blank cheque
To some random bushwhacking redneck
Who tried to sell him a bushel and a peck
I sent him on a hike as he pulled a quick rubberneck
I told Alec it was his dance moves I’d like to check
And maybe let him nibble a little on my neck

Tetractys
Oh Dell, what did you do with my poem?
the one I wrote
just last night.
Where is
it?
Duh!
Of course
I saved it;
I always save.
I have looked everywhere; I can't think straight.
Rats! I was so sleepy, it slipped my mind
Hey, what is this...
[Oh Dell, what
did you
do...]
Look,
that's it,
auto saved.
Smart-alec Dell
lets me know what a dunderhead I am.

Al Alec loved long jelly roll
And profit from the future poll
But the spread of cheese
Was Foiled in Cadiz
Al left NY to live in Black Hole

The Horse's Mouth
Sadly missed fortunes and loves of the past ...
Does the future reflect only shadows thus cast?
Will the quest for love's song, so hard and so long, end before chasms so vast?
Or does it reveal paths lost, too elusive to grasp, to light the way at last?
Well said by John L. to go forward is Hell when direction may not be so certain.
But straight from "The Horse's Mouth" comes a sober reflection:
We have to know when we succeed ... and when we fail ... and the reason why!
For after all, surrender we must to follow our hearts, or we won't be happy when we ...
Dedicated to Alec G., John L. and especially Debbie D. for their love and inspiration!
