I worry and then wonder why,
When I’m going away on a trip,
For it ends in the blink of an eye
And that agita adds up to zip.
Yet you can’t really change who you are –
If you’re nervous right down to your core,
Then wherever you go, near or far,
You’ll be anxious, at times less or more.
I just wish, since I know time does fly,
That’s a lesson I could take to heart,
But to think of the blink of an eye
Is a very good place I can start.
Amanhecer
Na terça,
logo no
amanhecer
a mulher
Bella & Vaidosa
agita a alma,
com o pó,
pinta a prosa,
perfuma a rosa,
faz do pouco,
a proposta
generosa.
Mais e mais,
ascende a arte,
anseia o alto,
acalenta a parte,
desde o amanhecer,
faz mais
e mais.
Fogueira
Junho
as fogueiras
se acendem;
a fogueira das
conquistas
se agita,
a sua chama
nunca
se limita.
Bellas & Vaidosas
com menos,
cada uma
alcança mais,
com pouco,
gera o tudo,
e tua história
é de fazer
mais e mais.
Conquista
Desde
o início
a maior
conquista
é o sonho.
O pássaro
espera no ovo,
e na visão
se agita
um anjo desperto
a sua conquista
espera você fazer
mais e mais.
The radio’s a lifeline
And for hours every day
We flip from blues to classical
But sometimes we will stray.
My husband found a station
Which plays oldies in the morn
And salsa in the afternoon;
You cannot be forlorn
When the music taps that place inside
That makes you up and dance
Despite the fact you’re grounded
In the current circumstance.
So yesterday I cha-cha-ed
Getting on my Latin groove
And with just my spouse to see me,
There were none to disapprove.
While this morning, there was Motown
And some early disco funk
As I pranced through the apartment
With some rare 6 a.m. *****.
To lose oneself to dance is all
The therapy I need,
For joy comes front and center,
Letting agita* recede.
*anxiety, stress or aggravation
A long long day of ups and downs,
Of tension laced with smiles and frowns
Including, too, a birthday bash
(Six years flown by, like in a flash).
The children climbed and raced around;
Exhilaration did abound.
In conversations I engaged
As stress and agita assuaged.
The hours ticked by, the pizza served;
The candles blown, good-byes observed.
We helped bring home the food and cake
But just before we made our break
A small request to stay outside
At dusk just couldn’t be denied –
A game of tag with varied rules;
We circled ‘round like crazy fools.
The last half hour made the day
For such delight infused the play
Of nana and the birthday boy,
Connecting with unfettered joy.
To be lucky in life, you’re qualified
If you have someone by your side –
A spouse, a parent, sib or friend,
Just one on whom you can depend.
You don’t need trappings tied to wealth,
(Though you’re in luck to have good health)
For fancy digs or costly clothes
Do not a lucky life expose.
But if you’re fortunate enough
To know when times are really rough
Of even just a little stressed
Your agita will be addressed,
You have to thank whatever fates
Have granted you such special mates.
Just knowing someone has your back
Makes up for anything you lack.
A civilized meal lets you dine
With a tablecloth, napkins and wine.
The lighting is low;
The room has a glow
And your mood is relaxed by design.
Compare that to dinner tonight
On the phone in between every bite.
As I guzzled my drink
Standing over the sink
I knew agita* this would invite.
For there’s certainly lots to be said
When you calmly sit down to break bread.
As you nibble and sip
Stress releases its grip
So your brain and your belly get fed.
*indigestion, agitation, anxiety
Whether in a baseball game
Or in the span of life,
Interference often causes
Agita* or strife.
Even when one’s motives
May be innocent or pure,
A casual observer
Or an ump might not be sure.
So consequences will result
When someone interferes,
And sometimes the effects may last
For months or even years.
*indigestion; aggravation
Objects break, and that’s a fact.
Glasses shatter, cups get cracked.
Plates get chipped and pans get dented;
Damages can’t be cemented.
Something smashed to smithereens
Makes a mess for one who cleans.
The breaker feels remorse and shame,
Especially when named for blame.
Yet many things can be replaced,
The image of the first erased.
So there’s no cause to be upset
‘Cause agita is all you’ll get.
Let it go – just clean the pieces.
Count to ten, ‘til anger ceases.
Any object’s just a token;
Just be glad your heart’s not broken.
Jolted from my slumber
filled with beads of pespiration
fresh from the land of wet dreams
my sleep is no more mine
strange a land,it seems
Its eeriness is pulsating
Dark clouds now rattle my joints
I have no fear
I tell my frayed nerves
I hate this feeling
I loathe my agita
The dread is eating me
Im scared of the impending doom
Be a man,they tell me
I'm Human,i reply
Words fall but my heart falls faster
the sunset quickens my pulse
Can i go back?hell no
Not again shall my lids shut
