Lucky In Life

To be lucky in life, you’re qualified
If you have someone by your side –
A spouse, a parent, sib or friend,
Just one on whom you can depend.

You don’t need trappings tied to wealth,
(Though you’re in luck to have good health)
For fancy digs or costly clothes
Do not a lucky life expose.

But if you’re fortunate enough
To know when times are really rough
Of even just a little stressed
Your agita will be addressed,

You have to thank whatever fates
Have granted you such special mates.
Just knowing someone has your back
Makes up for anything you lack.

Well ilene, this is another one that just seemed to write itself. You stayed on point with what's important. About what does anoint and makes life pleasant.

Great lines, Ilene! I was certainly fortunate to have Vera at my side for 66 wonderful years. I thank God every day for having brought her into my life. Bob

oh so so so true Ilene, , without the support of amazing friends (I got no support from my family as my father wouldn't let me tell mum) and starting to write poetry when he was in surgery I would have struggled to get through some of the toughest years of my life. My hubbies cancer has shown if you have your health you are the wealthiest person in the world:-) adding this gem to my faves hugs Jan xx
