Alphabet Soup
Everywhere I look, I see acronyms…
A language all of its own for each category.
A shorthand of sorts.
Outsiders confused and aggravated.
They requested clarification.
Only to be answered with jargon shorthand.

I will avoid the aggravation
I will work for a couple hours
For my Father
AIso I will write a few poems
For my father today
I will no longer kill myself
With work
I will go to bed
Early every single night
So that I can get a proper night sleep
I won't forget to pray for my father
Before I go to bed
Touching someone
Without consent
Pure harassment.
How do I convince this angry borer bee
My small redwood stoop belongs to me?
He persists in buzzing my frustrated head
I'm trying to find ways to make him dead.
He flies faster than a hypersonic missile
I certainly cannot shoot him with a pistol,
I painted it with a bee-toxic redwood stain
But, as soon as it dried, he was back again,
I've plugged his holes with arsenic--no lace,
I want him to nest in a more suitable place!

I saw a lad at the movie
He thought himself rather groovy
Laughing during sadness,
Growling during gladness
I thought he was rather goofy.
Then, halfway through the picture show
Everyone turned sour on him, though
He didn't seem to mind,
The crowd became unkind
And the usher said he must go.
