Ye seem ill advised, O poets

With just one sharp look she dares and defies,
You still call a woman vulnerable,
She casts lethal darts with enticing eyes,
And still…, poets you seem inscrutable,
When conquer can she e’en gods heavenly,
How helpless, wonder I can she e’er be.

Translation (sestet*) | 22.08.2025 | poets, women
*Wonder, if it can be called a Sestetto Rima-- iambic meter with a rhyme scheme of ABABCC.

Note: Here is a verse from Bhartrihari’s Shringaara Shatakam (hundred verses on love and romance). This one is in Vasanta-tilaka meter. Here he questions the wisdom of some great poets who call a woman ablaa, helpless one. She possesses immense power to command over men with the beauty she enjoys. Even gods of heaven are no exception. How can she helpless ever be? Here is the transliteration:

Noonam hi te kavi-varaa vipareeta-bodhaa
Ye nityam aahuh abalaa iti kaamineeh taah |
Yaabhih vilolatara taaraka drshti paataih
Shakra aadaya api vijitaah tu abalaa katham taah ||

Advised To Face Africa

I intend touring around the globe
For something I just wish to now probe:
Not how many guys wear clothes like robe
Nor how many would build with adobe;
Rather, whether it is now in vogue
To put to death a suspected rogue,
Standing on reasons strong but still vague;
Mock trial: The abhorrence of Hague,
Unleashed upon some soul Egypt’s Plague;
By God first arranged for the Non-Vague

But I’ve been advised: face Africa!
For your tours you leave Costa Rica
And don’t even near America;
All through guided by Britannica…

Payback, Discretion Is Advised

When the night is at its blackest and
the moon sneaks behind the clouds,
and the owls began to call, you know
there is no place to hide.

When your brain begins to ponder, certain
things that you have done, and your heart
begins to flutter; while your skin starts growing
bumps, you know that he is near.

Hiding under sheets and blankets, and leaving
all the lights on, and locking all the doors and
windows, will not conceal your fears; for
he knows what you have done.

You try to call someone, but your mobil phone just
won’t turn on, and the gun you hid under your
pillow somehow isn’t there. A cool and pleasant
breeze enters, through a broken window pane.

Will he use a gun or knife you wonder, or will he
put his strong hands round my neck? Perhaps he’ll
use a wooden bat. How did he ever find me after over
twenty years?

Guess I’ll just pretend to be asleep, and hope he doesn’t
make me suffer, like what I did to her.

Ill Advised

Ill Advised

Giving advice to someone who may be suffering from an illness.

Being advised by somebody who is considerably ill.

A poor choice made as a direct result of an advisory made by an incompetent advisor.

A mere mistake made by this so called ill advised individual.

Super dope actions or action carried out by a wicked sick, dope super person.

A recommendation to do Ill will in a multitude of ways.

A commonly used phrase that is fairly cliche and consequently lacks charisma and originality.

As for me, I think that being ill advised is so sick that I would consider it as a super dope compliment.

I am all sorts of:

My Life of Grief Llcontents Advised For Some Peoplell

All thought my head
Beatings from the night before
Cuttings on my wrist from before
Doodling Art through my skin
Even though its not enough
Fire speading up my wirst
Gotta go ahead
Head from the top
In hectic thoughts
Just the same from the night before
Kicking and thrashing in store tonight
Lying almost lifeless on the floor
Moving hardly from the pain
Never knew what life is for
Out casted from the rest
People cant help me, I'm too far broken
Quiting cuttings never coming
Resting in a shallow abyss
Sending signals of dying
Though my tears never coming
Under a great depression
Venturing in a mind state like never before
Why is my life like this?
Xtra questions never answered
Yearing for a new beginning
Zzzz... Finally an escape complete

There is this spider who lives in a shoe
His head is yellow body blue
