In An Instant

In an instant,
one or more lives can be changed forever.
A car crosses the road,
now headed for a pick-up truck.
The driver, husband and father to be,
lies dead on the road.
The wife and mother to be will some how survive,
but will never be the same.
The unborn baby will also survive,
their lives will be changed forever.
Their loving mother

In the shadows, softly praying,
Seeking God – love’s light portraying
All the wonders of hope and grace,
Blessings poured out through His embrace.

In the silence, a gentle touch
Fading softly – glowing so much
It can feel like the heart is growing,
As the past pain seems to be slowing.

In the whispers, lips keep praising,
Lifting God, who is so amazing.

No way do we want my adopted hometown, Everett Washington, to become another sanctuary city

Seattle Washington of King County is where I was born in early October of 1954.
And it already has become another sanctuary city.  What is a sanctuary city? In

Almost daily, Geese come in scattered flight,
to her front yard pond past break of morn.
From where they flocked for respite last night,
they honk for a ration from her shelled corn.

The night that you were born
Our hearts were filled with love
We knew you were precious

When we held you tightly

My Dog's Adopted

At what age should I tell my dog he's adopted?
Don't want him to start drinking, and getting el blotto

No one told her she was adopted, but she knew.
It was a well-kept secret. No one had mentioned it.
She met her birth mother once accidentally on the street.
An inner voice said ‘there she is’; it is her.

Their eyes met.
Same hazel circles, same hair, same face.
