To Our Adopted Daughter

The night that you were born
Our hearts were filled with love
We knew you were precious
God sent you from above.

When we held you tightly
In our arms you would sleep
You are such a blessing
Tears of joy we would weep.

Lindsay is our daughter
Gave birth to you that night
She tried her very best
To make things seem alright.

Feeling so overwhelmed
Unsure of what to do
Knowing deep in her heart
She wanted more for you.

Asked us to adopt you
Knew we loved you so much
For she gave her consent
Forever our lives touched.

We`re Grandma and Grandpa
Yet mom and dad as well
You're happy, smart and loved
Everybody can tell.

You began to call us
Your mommy and your dad
Some will not understand
And that is truly sad.

All families are special
Love binds them together
Unique in every way
Always and Forever.
