Premium MemberPRAISE BE TO GOD WHO ARMS US TOWARD VICTORY

February 24 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Numbers 31-32

Key Verse – Numbers 31:3 And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.

PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO ARMS US TOWARD VICTORY

Praise be to God for arming us toward victory while:
Winning against selfishness
Walking along His strength
Warmed by His salvation-security
Warned against arrogance-spoilage
Witnessing His miracles in our service

Numbers 31:16 Praise be to the Lord Who admonishes us
to beware of committing trespasses that can cause:
Plagues of sin-despair
Problems so discouraging
Poisons through deceit
Perversions and degradation
Pestilences midst disaster

Numbers 32:12 Praise be to the Saviour
for leading us to follow Him wholly in:
Going to war against unrighteousness
Giving the best worship
Growing in His will
Guarding faith from wiles of enemies
Guiding others to do well for His glory. Amen!

Premium MemberPRAISE BE TO GOD WHO ASSURES US DIVINE INHERITANCE

February 19 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Numbers 18-20

Key Verse– Numbers 18:20 And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.

PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO ASSURES US DIVINE INHERITANCE

Praise be to God for assuring us divine inheritance:
Precious and evidently heavenly
Priceless so ever-honourable
Perfect along eternal happiness
Profitable while evoking hope
Powerful that expects humility

Numbers 19:20 Praise be to the Lord for warning us
against defiling His sanctuary with our:
Unclean heart
Unsanctified mind
Undone offerings
Unsanitary practice
Unbelieving spirit

Numbers 20:12 Praise be to the Saviour Who admonishes us
to trust Him always, and never to act as unbelieving believers:
Struggling in the wilderness of sin
Suffering in our waywardness-caused shame
Stripping ourselves of joyous worth of salvation
Separating from His will and service
Sliding back toward wisdom of self. Amen.

THE RAIN SAILED the DATE IN the CALENDAR

The night submitted to me as it celebrated my weakness,
selflessly we shared sorrow,
poisonous tears flowed from the pupil of my eye,
I curse my reflection in the glass of the balcony door,
my weakness I strengthen with pain,
the laughter from the apartment next door
admonishes and suffocates,
it testifies to the solitude among four eerily walls
grieve with me,
there is nothing left of me,
only a sinful soul along with tired body,
and the skin destroyed by the corrosive rains.

the voices of the underworld are calling my name,
they echo the letters in the order they were born,
words of prayer laced with your name slide down my lips,
they crawled inside me and created an internal storm,
on my body are written the names
of all the victims of my internal wars,
how many times have you killed me
and brought me back to life,
immortality became my mortal sin.

Premium MemberMy Roar

Tremble at my roar
Hailing my authority as reigning jungle king
Such beastly nature of mine propels everyone to
Hasten toward haven's hiding place, or flee for safety…
No wonder that even God Almighty
Through the Scriptures in 1Peter 5:8
Admonishes mankind against the foe with this stern warning:
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary
 the devil, as a roaring lion,
walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

~~~~~~~
Divinely speaking
Hearken to my voice of rulership
Expressing power and dominion…
Epitomized by Jesus Christ, “the Lion of Judah”
Who reigns forever, strong and powerful
According to Revelation 5:5 of the Bible.
In the Buoy of November
The door is open,
To the month that precedes the year's end,
The curtains have given way,
The eleventh month has taken the stage,
A transition to the change of time and season.
The plans for the year are brought out,
The to-do list is run through,
The highs and lows are considered,
The shortfalls and superfluous are evaluated,
The ambitions are brought to the table.
Hope is threadbare,
Zeal is doused,
The succeeding year is in view,
Hope is to be deferred into its arms,
Gaze is fixed on where the eagles dare.
A pathway is sought through life's maze,
Light to suture the broken pieces,
Hope holds a periscope,
It admonishes a look through,
A medley of hope and light the weary heart seeks.
After the little storm last night
The birds' song seems chipper
As the sun changes cobalt clouds
To rose, roosters' songs quicker
As porch ceiling fan hums steadily
And poet struggles out
Words, the muse is stifled trapped within
Unwanted emotions 'bout
The audience reads penned thoughts
At least some days they do
Maybe they just glance, write a note
As they pass swiftly through
Do they ever think, maybe ponder?
Over each small word penned
Or is it a means to an end
Somehow a gold star pinned
At least it is not outright rudeness
Each poet acknowledges
The verse in unique and kind ways
Not his wife admonishes
When a few words she tries to say
Will the wrong be righted
Can forgiveness take ahold
And love again ignited
This is not about soupers not commenting. My work is always commented on in unique and encouraging comments. Thanks soupers.
Premium MemberThe Question
Leong (one of my roommates) squirms up to me at breakfast, in the cafeteria.
“May I ask..,” she said, looking around like a secret agent getting ready to make a dead-drop, “what contraceptives do you use?”
I thought this an odd question from someone who just broke up with her long-time boyfriend but, hey, I’m an open book.
“Isolation and despair,” I replied, which got me an eye roll.
“You’re never serious!” She admonishes me.
Premium MemberThe Distance Between
The Distance Between
Far to the east, pale moonlight
Admonishes thoughts yet to be born
To the west, where yesterday is spry
The lighthouse awaits
Her flare quenched by Nature’s cry
Hag-ridden planks of an ancient pier
Weathered and grayer than what lies on top
Scarred scent-laden green
Sway with the rhythm of the briny sea
Revealed in the distance between
Where copper coins and hooks silver cored
Fall to a forever resting place
Held by the sea’s lonesome loam
A pauper’s treasure
Buried by sea foam
Will memories of you once beset
Slip through the distance between
I ponder, salty pearls rimming my eyes
Shall Neptune’s realm hold the sweet bitterness
of what I long to forget
My misery is disrupted by a bird come about
Alabaster body
And ebony eyes
As though sensing my thoughts,
The lowly bird casts me a look of doubt
Ignoring the faithless fowl
I turn my eyes to the
Distance Between
God’s light consumed by the sea’s depth
I peer into the emerald green
Memories like golden cobble shine
I inhale the dark sea’s pungent breath
Through ragged cracks greater than
The distance between life and death
Nature
Destroying, devastating, and demanding,
However we forget to cherish
What we take for granted.
The earth can feel the pain.
The forest can feel the apathy of human beings.
The ocean is almost choked by our waste.
The Australian fire
Punishes the world,
Admonishes the people
To care
To protect
The continent we live on
We breathe in and out.
Preserving, appreciating, and protecting.
We should recycle garbage,
And conserve water.
The World
The World
The world we live in, free as it may seem
smiles at popularity, crowns fame,
mocks solitude and scorns ascetics,
worships money and dreams of good things,
of good looks, of good clothes,
professes humility and pity, while looking up at
the suns of our times, rich and famous,
who look down in turn at the pitiable
crowning them in their golden light,
the spotlight on the less-fortunate they direct, their situation they pity,
invoking the thanks of the Gods above, and the applause of the sycophants,
but cruelly, cruelly the world despises
hates, begrudges, admonishes and belittles
wisdom, and wise men,
the intellectual who sticks away from the crowd
and asks that the dreamy blanket covering the world be tossed away
is dismissed without a second thought,
and buried along with the fake news.
Premium MemberVarsity Blues
A Tom Wright opinion
(Do the crime, do the time)
11-14-2019
White collar crime,
such as “Varsity Blues.”
Perp’s haven’t spent a day,
in a poor man’s shoes.
Generally a judge admonishes,
with a slap on the wrist.
The Rich & Famous crimes,
will be nearly dismissed.
Oh, a judge will mete out something,
due to public outcry.
Causing much head scratching,
not understanding why?
Just because a person lives,
higher up on the stalk.
Doesn’t mean they’re entitled,
to a free pass, and walk.
Premium MemberWhat Do We Do About the Rodent Problem
Breakfast in your rooms, the unknown suited lady says with pride.
She has written a grant, and the school district is happily clapping it into our buildings.
Miss J, an older teacher who is always dressed to the nines
raises her hand.
“What do we do about the rodent problem?” she asks.
There are shrieks of dismay from those who had been avidly clapping for suit.
“There will be no problem like that,” the unknown suit lady admonishes her.
“You will teach your children how to clean the rug thoroughly after spills.”
Miss J, teaches thirty-six kindergarteners.
“We did this about twenty years ago,” she says, “and there were mice everywhere.”
There is laughter now. What does she know? She is old.
“You will assign a different student the task of cleaning up spills properly,”
Suit said. “Then you will have no problem.”
That was three months ago.
Mice now make us teachers walk on the third square
down the hall and in silence.
Studies At the Station
I sometimes sit
At the train station
And watch the people
Go by. They sweep past
Hurriedly, filling the quiet
Of my thoughts
With bustling energy.
Then a little one’s head
Will turn, inquisitive
Eyes questing to know more about
This curious lady in
Her red felt hat,
And for that moment,
The swirling hordes pause
And the world takes
Notice. Before his mother pulls
Gently on his hand,
Before she admonishes him
Not to stare—
I meet his eyes with a
Smile, in vain effort
To tell him that
I understand. We are both
Students of the world.
TIME TO RETURN
Lamentations 3:40 admonishes
"Let us examine our ways
And return to the Lord."
Therein lies the truth in God's Holy Word
America has allowed corruption to reign
It's time to stand up and become great again
The Name of Christ is seldom proclaimed
And when it is, it seems spoken in vain
People across America fail to see
The pardon Christ paid on the Mercy Tree
Now it is time for a wake up call
Otherwise America will soon take a fall
It will no longer be the land of the free
What  will become of Lady Liberty
Will she be doomed to a watery grave
And America no longer be the home of the brave
It is a certainty seemingly to me
It's time for America to look up and see
The God Who created all that exists
Awaits our return to experience His Bliss
So, I say to America, climb out of the mire
Begin to deliver the lost from hell's fire
By telling the world there is no greater love
Than the love of God from Heaven above
Who She Is
- Who She is. -
She is the statue of liberty
The lady of the harbour
A beacon and a pillar of light
She is burnt at the stake
She is woken by a kiss
Calling from afar
She says " I will fight naked on a horse if you would follow me"
She takes the kids to school with kids in hand her face is full
Even blindfolded she always knows the truth
Her laugh is like a split pomegranite
Often she admonishes me
I just go along stupidly
She taught us how to weave
She taught us how to believe
She shades us like the cedars of Lebanon
Her virtues just goes on and on
We are her children and her name is Freedom
Her heart is like a river, mysterious and deep
The last thought to leave my mind before I go to sleep
She is the matriarch
That takes us to the water
Where we can fill our trunks and we can splash our thanks
We blindly follow her and when we look again she is the vanguard in the rear
