“Maybe love doesn't come from the heart. Maybe it's a psychic jolt that wakes you when you touch them, leaving you breathless.” Christy Johnson
Butterfly kisses and his breath upon my cheek.
Racing heart of mine. I could not resist as he
Enticed me with his gaze. Words he had no need to speak.
Anticipation peaked when that angel boy kissed me,
Thrilling me like I had not been thrilled before.
Heaven-sent was he, for he melted my heart.
Lavished with affection, I reveled in his ardor.
Enchantment it seemed he practiced as high art.
Such a surprise it was that he had come my way.
So sweetly did he steal my breath away.
How time has flown since then. I think of how
Elation once whalloped me with a romantic WOW.
Love comes and goes. I’ll never know
Even now what happened to the young man who
Fed my soul with sunshine’s happy glow.
That all remains a bliss I cannot live anew.
Magical is breathlessness. Sadly, that feeling
Ends eventually, but how I long again to be reeling!

Tainted schemes
distorted dreams
things you want
you should let them be
aint got no time for secomd glance
loves like ours
full of second chances
get it right
but don't take this wrong
cause you miss a Good man
when he's gone
You aint the woman
I thought you were
I thought you wanted
cashmere, diamonds and furs
act like a bankhead buster
who jive and juke
you make me sick
I want to puke
leave me alone let me be
call me later
if we agree
I aint tryna be your thang
playing 'round
always changing things
mean ole triffle
foolish ways
if we hold on
we'll see better days
but you like fadding and fooling round
acing silly like some damn clown
suppossa be my Woman
but never arpound
Cause you a low-down cheating trick
who likes playing around
then when I'm serious
you jive and gonne
if I find a Nother
I'm gonna leave you alone
That's how it is
but it aint how it's gonna be
move on Sweetie
take your leave of me

Planting a tree that bears sweet fruits
Tracing the dawning of my roots
Writing a book that bears my name
Beating the odds in my own game
Roaming around in my own way
Running 50 kilometers away
Acing the top in my tough test
Climbing my mountain to the crest
Gracing the pages of my poetry
Singing to tune my own melody
Making my mark on concrete ground
With the moon and stars around
Meeting the stars of tinseltown
Dancing with Johnny like a clown
Shaking the hands of sexy Swifty
Meeting the eyes of gorgeous Alexy

S-uffering in bleak darkness people need light,
P-ace the gloomy path of despair to sunshine.
R-ays of altruistic candle I show them with love,
E-cstasy fervently suffuses their desolate mind.
A-crid betrayal breaks many hearts, and in the
D-ebris I blossom flowers with empathy touch.
I-nfused patina radiates the divine glow of bliss,
N-aturally reflected from my happiness mirror,
G-arnered as a gem in my journey of fulfillment.
H-orizon gleams even after my spent sun sets,
A-rid dunes roll as joyful waves on the sand sea,
P-arched life I saunter along the trail of mirage,
P-acing to the oasis in the cauldron of rapture.
I-nstilled by verve I take the journey of euphoria,
N-ascent hopes create delightful gems I adore.
E-xaltation sparkling like star in my mind’s sky
S-aturates my heart while I walk the last mile,
S-inking in soul I find aura of happiness I spread.

Arriving for my first visit, not knowing what to expect
Instantly awestruck at the plethora of trampolines
Ready to jump feet first into a new adventure.
Bouncing up, down, in, out, to and fro
Over and over again. I spot the soft foam pit,
Racing towards it, I take a leap of faith
Naturally full of enthusiasm and a youthful
Energy that knows no bounds at the moment.
Eagerly looking around the massive building wanting
X-tras like dodgeball, slam dunk, and the high-flying
Trapeze—where I swing through the air and land safely
Right in the middle of the blue and red squares of foam. I
Enter the battle beams where I was defeated by an older
Male. Nearly two hours later, and all good things must come to an
End. My first experience at a trampoline park was a success.

(An Acrostic Poem)
**Side note: I wrote this poem from the point of view of my 12 year old son. This was his first experience at a trampoline park called Airborne Extreme. He had a great time and has enjoyed the amusement center a few times since.

Facing my dad, who stood by mom’s side
Attentively. They were the definition of love.
Took care of us. We’d have dinner at 5:00, imagine!
He left the loving and conversation up to mom
Except for now — it’s amazing the stories he tells.
Relying on his memory, hoping for his
Soul to find love and peace in God.
Dad with unrelenting tears, now knows how much
All his kids love him. Just like him, we’re not going anywhere.
You can bet we’ll surround him on his bittersweet day.

Nectared graces overwhelming must
Underline your pulse-halting charms;
Utopian opal spelt by honeyed terms,
Resistless pearl cased in mortal dust.
Fair-miened nymphs kings did melt;
But such sly vixens, like old Phoenix
Acing artful Death's ambrosial tricks,
Would find your rig a conundrum yet.
Dead fancy's fairy in gowns of wool,
Would vote this trim flawless figure
Finer than fiction's gildings meager;
Nature’s art unsullied by apish tool.
Nor would pageant-lauded beauties,
Though posh their foppish styles be;
With roses laureled in limitless glee,
Dim this time's own queen of cuties.
Where lurks this sure paragon high,
Beauty-capped acme of poets' tales;
Yet glamorous and unbeaten in vales
Of breath and death where jewels lie?

S-tars whirling through midnight black skies, whitely,
U-rged on by the Milky Way, twinkling quite brightly.
M-adcap moon in a romance dance over sapphire earth,
M-eaningful though mild, in the precincts of her birth!

R-acing the redbirds, as emerald toads do froggy hops.
D-aily masquerade ball of a red sun's splash and dash,
A-nd the mysterious wind, giving vivid blooms whiplash!
N-ebulous green waves, undulate seductively into foam,
C-ameo appearances of butterflies, in acutely green homes.
E-ach noon intensely golden, each tango new, though olden!

Acing awesome atomic axel jumps
Baffling backflips and butterfly jumps
Completing camel spins and cross strokes
Dance jumps, dance lifts and death spirals
Eclipsing extensions and edge jumping
Fearless heights for fan spirals and flying spins
Gracefully gliding across galactic ice
High-handed hydroblading holiday headliners
Icebreaking intensity involving idealistic idols
Jagged jump jabbing combos and sequences
Kicking back killer knockout maneuvers
Landing leg wraps and laudable lasso lifts
Music momentum for mirror skating moves
Negotiating nifty new nimble numbers
Orchestrating an opening outrageous act
Performing in front of passionate patrons
Quantum quality quadruple jumps
Rehearsed till radically racy and riveting
Striving for split jumps and split twists spread eagle
Traveling toe step and throw loop and triple flips
Winter gymnastics on ice eagerly awaited year to year
