Like unwilling alchemy,
A forceful transmutation,
Tragedy to sanity -
Through sudden abnegation.

With fluid emotions -
The mixing of potions -

Alchemical abjuration.

Life Is What It Is

You say Life is rough
O tell me what makes it tough;
If not of your idiosyncrasy
Life is a rock of intricacy
Room of animation and stagnation
Those must be tasted as abnegation
Yes, even the opulent must travel through

So live it madly or sweetly
And sing it silently or loudly.
Life is dark mode's light
It shines when lit
And overshadows the dark parts
Should you lust for Life's fancies
You'll end up calling it hard
If you spite its idle games that pad
It'll be all right.

Life is a message
And you are the very prophet of your life
Strive, therefore, to preach it to the world with charity
Of worthiness and integrity
For your star to scintillate brightly.
The choice of Life lies where it's courtesy.

and then there was nothing …

a distant echo of vacant abnegation

of purpose meaning delusion

yet a sense of unease flooded

nonchalant meditation

a void with no abyss

refused to make way to Nirvana

sandalwood marched like an Army of thoughts

burnt the loin cloth uncovered nudity beyond

imagination when the deluge breathed in flickers

blistered Nirvana scorched emotions and reason

as the heroine neared the apocalypse

her skin glowed in the dark

the sparkle set the fig tree on fire

infused the begging bowl with fragrance

of attention to the Here and Now

engulfed by her own flames

she flashed smouldered remains

revoked her precocious funeral pyre

tied frivolous misconceptions to the stake

if I really wanted to be nothing

I would hide in my womb …

George Floyd

I
I tried not to mention the crime
Siblings, it is high time
America stopped self-flagellation,
Self-hate, self-abnegation

II
I feel for him, brother George ("of the earth")
I came close, but saved by a different birth
To feel the accusing eyes: "Me, the evil one"
Only because I stayed in school, joined the run

III
Black America wants to drive, play ... like us
Tired of fighting for a seat, decades after Rosa Parks
George Floyd is a hero for having lived BLACK
A remnant yells, "Deport the upstarts. Send 'em back"

How free can free verse be
if effervescence is mandatory?
Its bubble’s bound to burst
with disquietude and thirst.
Perpetual hunger makes it worse!
I mean no disrespect
but fervidness is vehemence,
so loses some effect.
If amorousness is forced
it’s the coarsest kind of course,
like required veneration
prone in abnegation.
Reverence must be free
to bow or bend a knee
like words of love in lines
that slant or fall in rhyme.

Devotion

Not a longevity but high dreams made her assuredness
Devotion in books, mould her in prosperity

Expectation form herself, longing to touch the sky
all the talks from society like ‘will she get successed in it’

for her, Presuming it flapdoodle just like mullock
She deeemed well from journalism, aspiration insisting her

“Forget about yesterday, Go ahead and
endowed your aim having penchant”

A new start up learning and flourishing, ran her up
Abnegation Broken her into spillikins, above all the sides give in,

Never bend towards distress, passed all the level
Instated her dreams in reality, Become the spur for lifetime

New Year’s Resolutions

All my New Year’s resolutions
are excellent solutions.
I try hard not to break them.
So, I, never ever make them.

It must be great to have the strength,
willpower at any length
a promise to yourself
satisfying no one else.

The greatest sadness in the world,
is when New Year’s Day unfurls,
and you must part with what you like,
hiding good things from your sight.

Abnegation cannot be.
No changing things for me.
All is well just like it is.
I guess I’m just a hedonist.

Premium Member Happy Mothers Day

Dedicated to my mother, poetess of Poetry Soup that are mother and to all the mothers around the world:

An angel in Earth who watches for her son or daughter in their childhood, leading with her advices to the right path, take care or his or her when is sick, helps in the scholar assignments, in the teenager years, sees that her son or daughter is not a child any more, not an adult yet, worrying about that the incipient feelings of independency turns to make wrong decisions. In the early adulthood, a new stage with the college years, a young adult emerges. Later on in life, son or daughter marries to start his or her own family or moves to his or her own house. Then, in many cases, arrive the granddaughters or grandsons to compound a new generation.

In the day that is recognized your neverending labor as mother, applaude the abnegation that mothers brings to her daughters or sons, since their birth until the last day of her in this planet. God bless you all.

Premium Member Organization Man

Organization man. In the best sense
creating the environment in which experiments
can be savored and remembered.

Then there is the world of interlocked
organizations. A world of missions and contracts
finely tuned and binding.

Is the formation of associations
as instinctual as nesting and gestation?
A leader may be one who asks a question.

Or may be one imposing order.
Imposed through consensus and broad shoulders.
Waits, watches, acts his part.

I was impressed by the list of distinguished senators
from Vermont. He placed himself among men,
orators, imperfect, in history.

We march forward, imperfect in our justice
and compassion. Overriding logic with conscience
sometimes, not often, when it counts.

And mercy. A seemingly irrational, total
abnegation of the markets, rules of war, law.
Good to be so flawed.

Salvation From Self Slavery

inner consciousness
                                       seeks righteous abnegation
                                            leads to salvation

This City Speaks

Faces void all passing by
open eyed yet emptied
like flashes of a vacancy sign
blank stares like orphans pitied

Caught in time
no plans to sketch
just colored pencils
with broken tips

Only the artist's see
painting joy on canvas
as if an apology
for selling a feeling - to what the living should be free

This city speaks of sunsets passed
and lakes that serve as portraits hung
rush for a weekdays check to cash
while natures gift remains outrun

For me I'd rather fish the sea
a humbled walk along the beach
fall upon a stack of leaves
but freeways and buildings my peace has breached

In love with a life of simple pleasures
unhurried by the next place to go
where hospitality is still the measure
not a life that's put on like a show

Where did all the soft eyes go
the patriots passion the pride
when did this world spin out of control
and kindness become something to hide?

To each his own the saying goes
but what of love thy neighbor?
When abnegation is no longer chose
it's no wonder isolation be favored

One day's magic

One day's time and a magic wand,
Determined I am to take a firm stand,

An end to abhorrence and indignation,
All will take up self abnegation,

An expiation for the sins of the world,
Sacrifices, shine will leave each one blurred,

Putting up an end to sanguinely battue,
Human life would sail perfect on a plateau !

And I won't ever need another day,
One day's magic will change the entire play !

Illuminating Soul (COLLABORATION )

by~ George Stal

I had felt this age had won;
as my sword was rotted as spring appeared.
The earth burst out as a blossom.
And now saileth in the boat of sunrise,
come forth,
O, quiet Heart-
For I have avenged thee
on the day when thy dead shall live anew.
Shutting thy eyes on the world,
sublime in thy abnegation.
See it break on thy face;
Soul illumes*

by~ Poet Destroyer

Ageless with the world that comes and goes.
Mist Upon this blossom Morn,
Thy eyes bleed for the beauty arising -
Your gentle hues atop the green lawn
Casting a rock~ upon the horizon land.
The world grant's the sun a final flirt of passion.
I will taste the silent air'
Longing on a new deathbed!
With earth breaking the intimate and final push.
Soon thy will see the silver line
Send it down thy watery grave,
Thy soul will illuminate and sublime with the universe.

~A Poet Destroyer Collaboration~

Carniverous Carnival

Carnival without merit, affinity, and association
Brash, bellowing band bleeting notes in oscillation
Circus creatures cavorting about with every unseemly provision
Cascading, carnival chorus clanging through every subdivision
Haughty, kilted henchmen trotting in front of the procession
Decadently-dressed damsels fawning at mock adulation
Coarsely-clad clowns tromping along in derision
Freaky, festooned floats fluttering through every alley and intersection
Ghastly garlands strewn about with every drunken petition
Teaming, throbbing townspeople on marauding mission
Corrupt Councilors culled and paraded about in degradation
Frugal, free-loading foragers scraping up every token donation
Vacuous, votive vendors profitting from their abnegation
Ebullient, enterprising entrepreneurs scalping without aversion
