Premiere Contest: An Old Form

An escapade sweet as a marshmallow day when tangerine dreams fed our evergreen stream. Our magnet attraction neath radiant ray did butter the air where the breezes did teem and whirlwinds of roses anointed the brae. Their scent, my surrender, romantic the scheme, exotic the fever and dance with a flame — ah, rapture of capture! The wooer’s end game.

Dearest Christina, I know the sad feeling of my muse abandoning me too.. fortunately, she always returns (on her terms..) from her vacation, tanned, smiling and well-rested, though sometimes still lazy! lol! I adore your precious comments, my talented poetry friend. I'm also honored and humbled by your generosity and kindness. Your poetic soul sees into the heart of my poem with sensitivity and clarity. I really like the Rispetto form. I know you would just excel writing in this form too, Christina! I hope you will let your expressive golden pen give it a try. I'm so glad to know you loved my poem, that means the world to me. Thank you, my sweet friend, for the inspiration of your friendship and for your cherished comments. Ever your admirer.. warmest wishes and hugs.. ~Susan

Wild roses combining into a wild day. Maybe why the rose is the flower of romance, and its exotic colours get you in the mood, and it seems you were in the mood.

Hi Susan.. Your poem beautifully captures the essence of a romantic escapade, evoking sensations of sweetness and warmth akin to a "marshmallow day." The imagery of "tangerine dreams" feeding an "evergreen stream" paints a vivid picture of vibrant, dream-like landscapes. Metaphors, such as "magnet attraction" and "whirlwinds of roses," adds depth, highlighting the intensity of the encounter. The surrender to the scent of roses and the dance with flames symbolize a passionate and captivating experience.

Dear Silent One, I relish your in-depth and inspiring feedback. Indeed, I wanted to portray the scene on the hill as a "passionate and captivating experience" recalled by the poem's female speaker and wanted the symbolism used to strongly suggest it. Your meaningful comments assure me that I achieved my goal. Thank you, dear poet and friend, for being always being a beacon in my poetry journey. Your golden friendship and gifted poetic pen are ever appreciated. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
